My family and I just stayed over the weekend for a nice long weekend! We had an amazing time. We enjoyed riding fourhweelers during the day, and coming back to hangout in the river. The owners are amazing people. Very accommodating. We are all very excited to go back. Thank you jimi and Jodi for an amazing weekend. We are wishing you nothing but the best in your new adventure!

The new owners are not opening the restaurant. The kids in the campground rode their motorcycles and atvs in lose proximity to the campsites until after 9:00 pm. The adults partied until 11. We had traveled all day and were expecting dinner and a relaxing evening. Needless to say we were extrembly dissapointed.

Staying in Evergreen Campground is like paying money to camp on the side of a highway. Well, it actually is! All I heard was traffic noise constantly! No peace or quiet because of road noise. The owners were very nice and the place was very clean. The restaurant is not open and hasn't been for 3 yrs. Website needs to reflect that! Also the campsites flooded with heavy down pour.

We stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to camp after we got to round barn camping and it was full. We arrived at 7:30 pm and the owners were so friendly, helped us get fire wood. There were no other tenters so it felt very isolated and quiet. Bathrooms were super clean and the river access was beautiful

What a great place to stay! Check in was a little slow because we arrived late and the owner was busy in the kitchen. Clearly the owners work hard to make us all happy campers! The cottage was very clean and alot bigger than it looks in the pictures. I was pleasantly surprised to see a table and 2 chairs inside as well as on the covered porch. Which is where we spent most of our time. My husband and I talked too loud, laughed even louder and never had one complaint! Our dog even did what she thought was her job of barking at the neighbors! The river was beautiful and the fall color amazing!I just want to add that you may never know why someone would leave a bad review. I read them and had my reservations about this place. But our experience was just wonderful! Thank you to the owners for giving us this great place to stay! See you again next year for sure!

A very well run campground on the Kennebec River with great owners. We have made several trips down the River with Kayaks launching right from our campsite to the boat launch off Patterson Hill Bridge Road. It is a casual 3 hour trip where we have seen Bald Eagles and Osprey as well as deer, raccoon and a host of other wildlife. From our site we witnessed many people tubing in floatillas down the River. There are also lots of other Kayaking opportunities all around here up and down the Kennebec and the multitude of lakes and ponds. You can find the publicly accessible boat launches on the Maine Gazetteer Atlas made by Delorme and found in stores all around. If you bicycle do not miss the Rail Trail between Solon and Bingham. I had my wife drop me off at Jimmy’s Shop and Save Supermarket to access the trail and found it was a very well maintained recreation path that was smooth and flat running right along the Kennebec. There were picnic tables along the way to stop at and gaze the River. I probably had 7 or 8 ATVs pass me along the way which were very respectful and slowed down mostly traveling in groups. I rode across the railroad bridge at the Williams Dam (a sight itself) and to Route 16 which brought me about 1/4 of a mile from the campground. The whole trip was about 8.5 miles. There are also a lot of country roads to explore if you like to get in the car and just drive around. We had booked our site for a month thinking we would commute back and forth from our house which is under an hour away but ended up staying here most of the time. We simply had a lovely time here.

Our small pine paneled riverfront cabin was immaculate, warm and cozy. There is a fire pit and a charcoal grill. The owners are friendly and helpful and we like to make a visit and fish once a year at least. Fishing can be challenging.

What a terrible experience with my family. My mom had been doing family reunions every summer at this place for the last couple years. Normally there is only booking issues however this year was absolutely terrible and left bad memories for what should have been an amazing experience. We had families coming from all over the US and some of us haven’t seen eachother in 9years! Half of us were in tears before we were saying goodbye. We first called to book 2 cabins however somehow that was not booked correctly. We called many times to try and reserve things and they are terrible at answering the phones. We were able to get one cabin after many calls and trying to work things out.A few of us arrived around 9:30pm, one family from Canada, another that was having car issues and instantly had complaints as we were setting up tents and trying to park the camper. 9:30pm at a campground is not an unreasonable hour in the summer time and if you want peace and quiet maybe stay at a hotel? As we were walking from campsites to cabins we were told to stop walking through others “property”. Walking. Along the side of the bushes to get to the cabin was not hurting anyone and yet we still got an ear full from the owner. One of us used the community outlets to pump the air mattress... most campground know that’s what they will be there for. Well we received another earful from the owners about tripping something. The showers and bathrooms were disgusting and had constant plumbing issues. It was better to use the woods. We then were cooking family supper all together at one of the cabins outside while the kids ran and played by the water and the owner walked over to us to let us know that we were not aloud to be all together there. And indicated that the neighbor had complained. This was at 5pm... this nice the owner left the one neighbour we had said they did not complain about anything. We finally had enough so we walked over and talked to them about why that happened and where the rule book was because we weren’t able to walk without getting in trouble. The guy then changed the story and said he was worried about the plumbing in the cabin and that we were all using the toilet. We were NOT using the toilet, only the family renting it was in there. We were not disrespecting their space. We had 4 camp drives going outside on the picnic tables and cutting veggies. The list goes on there were just highlights! There are so many beautiful places to camp in Maine and this will no longer be our meeting place! I would suggest “pines campground” in stratton maine near sugarloaf for anyone looking for more activities for children and a better camping experience all around! Our experience was terrible and I’m very upset that our family went all that way to have this part in our memories together.

We booked a family reunion there and the customer service was terrible. They messed up reservations so instead of having three cabins we only had one and several had to stay intent sites We were made feel unwelcome by the constant patrolling of our specific campsites and glares by the owners. We were told we could not all have dinner together at the one cabin that we were able to reserve . There are numerous other ways that the outdid themselves with the poor service offered. I would not recommend having any sort of get together there. There are no activities for children....not even a playground or swingset.

only used this place to launch kayaks at the boat launch with friends. The owner approached us not very professionally kind of aggressive and asked what we were doing. It was kinda obvious. He stated that it cost $3 per car to put a kayak in annd $5 to park we had 5 cars in our group. it wasn't so much the fee as he has a business to run it was his rude attitude. We have been using this launch for several years no charge now he changes no sign. gave 2 stars because the grounds look ok. attitude is everything!

A great little camping area sitting right on the Eastern shore of the Kennebec River in Small Town Solon Maine. They have tent, RV, and cabin sites. River access for wading, swimming, fly fishing and small watercraft. Huddle up underneath the pines and enjoy the sounds of bald eagles and osprey as the fish and fly overhead. Watch whitetail deer feeding and wandering and have breakfast at their lodge. Showers and restrooms available on site as well. Enjoy a backwoods experience without traveling deep into the Maine forest lands.

We asked and was told we could get our 40' toy hauler in with no issue. Got there and trees needed trimming to get in. Not the site but entry to camping area. We had to do it. Didnt mind if there were brushing camper but these were limbs. Electric hookup was a 20. Which is fine but outlet had screwin fuse and needed to be replaced years ago cord wouldn't stay in and make a good connection. Other than that no cable, wifi, low maint to area. Didnt try reastraunt figuring if the campground was this way what was restraunt like. Dump station only. Atv trail connection was good. Owner was freindly but we felt decived.

I love this place! Located on the banks of the Kennebec River overlooking Ancient Native American Indian Burial grounds on the opposite side of the river, and at the location of a Benedict Arnold camp site. Peaceful site with cabins, restaurant and RV facilities.

Great place to stay if your adventuring out to white water raft. 1/2 hour to the WWR sites. CG is right on the Kennebec. Put your tube in and drift down to the end of property. Nice big sites.

Very clean, beautiful setting with the Kennebec River running steps from your door. Pet friendly. No frills, but very inexpensive. Country store in Solon a mile away with excellent food.

Dont go here. TERRABLE. Rude, forgetful, disorganized. Un professional. The women on the phone is rude and dismisive she forgot to hand write our reservatin (the only documenting they do) which were confirmed by phone over a month ago and cancled the cabin for our large camping group, very last min. When told she had made a mistake and should make it right she repeatedly told me i was wrong and that she writes everything down by hand and doesnt make mistakes . There were 2 of us there when we called to confirm. We know that this conversation happened. We were given tent sites at full price . When i tried to ask questions about the changes and new sites how many tents per site and stuff like that she told me i wasnt letting her speak, we wernt getting any where and she didnt need to hear me make my point and theni was hung up on. and on site it is loud and dirty and the women from the phone is even worse in person. Terrable sevice constant dissrespect and a nasty attitude.and compleat inability to admit she had made any mistake at all. And aparently shes an institution of the place so dont think you might get some one else cuz this lady is the be all end all ruler of the place. She told me wehn i asked to talk to a manager WE Will NEVER GO BACK.there are soo many other camping options in Maine do your self a favor and google one of them.

Excellent family experience!! Rent a camp or use the campground. Small place but very cozy and relaxing being right on the Kennebec! We leave right from camp on our tubes and float down the Kennebec River, then head back to camp! Great fly fishing right there in steps from your camp or the campground! Highly recommend for and family or just to get away. Also bring the ATVs! Great trails to ride right from camp here! Amazing annual trip for us every year!!

Great prices and everything you need is right nearby. Great place for outdoor fun with the family and it's on the Kennebec river so it's great for fishing and kayaking. I'll definitely be going to stay!

Nice family camp ground right on the river. I rented a tent site. Good size with picnic table and fire pit and plenty of room for a good size tent. There is a restaurant that puts on a good breakfast buffet.

We had this place booked for a month. 1 week before our scheduled stay they called and told me they decided to close early for the season, leaving us scrambling to find somewhere else to stay. So far everywhere I call is booked full.
