Usually a decent experience, but I just had to mention a strange event that happened here a few months ago.While on a late-night run for a few groceries, a drunk man stumbled about screaming that his brother Lorne is a peter file? No idea what that's about, normally I'd brush this off but a friend told me that guy has done this around town before.Also this place always seems to out of mayo and ham? What's up with that. At least the armstrong brand cheese is in stock when there's a sale.-glen

Skohegan is certainly more chill than say Scarborough or Auburn. No huge lines and the entire store seems well stocked. Very friendly staff in the store also. I have only been there a handful of times. However each of those visits was a breath of fresh air compared to other maine walmarts..

They really have nothing compared to the others that are around this area. I go because it's what we have. Wish this Walmart got better products with more variety. It would be nice to not have to drive 35-40 minutes to a better Walmart. But I can say there way better than the closest Target.

THANK YOU Skowhegan Walmart for encouraging me to further investigate automatic deliveries from Amazon. Much more convenient than wandering the aisles of your fetid, foul smelling store looking for basic necessities.I avoid shopping here unless I absolutely have to have an item that day. The layout of this place makes NO SENSE.STOP RE-ARRANGING THE STORE.EDIT: 04/22/24: They re-arranged the store again. It's been less than 2 years. What a joke.

Probably the weirdest Walmart in the area. There is very clear evidence that this was an older style Walmart, and they just slapped another 1000 square feet on and called it a day. The grocery section is literally almost the same as any non-supercenter Walmart, or for old people who were born in the late 20th century, what a Kmart grocery section looked like. Decent electronics section, but that's about the only thing this store has going for it.

Poorly stocked, don't assume something is available because it says so on line. More times than not it isn't available. Be careful buying produce. Freshness is questionable and you will not get your money back. Hannaford is right next door get your produce there.

You can't beat Wal-Mart for value!Electronics, home goods, shoes & clothing, health & beauty supplies, and food are always in good supply.The store is well organized and nicely laid out making it easier to find what you need when you want it. Quick grocery run? No problem! They've got whatever you need.Love the fresh produce that's always plentiful and with many varieties available.Ample parking and plenty of handicap spaces near the entrance.

One of the best run Walmarts I’ve been to. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was looking for Aloe Vera gel which we did not find ( only aloe drink)but the young lady lead me to find alo juice with real aloe pieces ( but too much sugar)” and even had aloe leaves in the produce! Score!!Also, as an RVer, I just want to complement the parking layout and how pretty, clean and quiet it was to stay here next to woods and the fairgrounds. The campgrounds at Acadia are still closed due to hurricane Lee and it is good to have somewhere with cell service. I feel safer traveling cross country knowing I can overnight at Walmart when I haven’t found a campground b4 dark.

Keep an eye on your young ladies and girls on the tech section. The employee has serious personal space issues with girls, spits when he talks, and talks very condescending. Someone needs to teach him some behavior modification!

They never have anything in stocks, the shelves have huge bare spots throughout the store, and a majority is Chinese made garbage. I bought a pair of sneakers in an emergency 2 weeks ago, and the soles are already falling off of them. DO BETTER WALMART!!! Try selling stuff that is made in the USA!

I mean it's Walmart, you're never going to walk into a good one. Especially now that prices seem to be going up.I feel awful every time I walk in. They don't even have the hand baskets, I've been able to find them, so you're left with getting a cart or juggling the few items you actually need.If you're in a place to avoid it, avoid it. Although it is understandable why we have to shop there. Just wish it was different, you know.

The automotive is horrible. Never take a car their to be worked on. The over charge and most of the employees in the automotive center don't know what they are doing and causes damage to your vehicles. Oil change takes over 30mins and you will want to make sure that it is full. They tend to strip the oil pan plugs. And not use good oil. Horrible place to get your vehicles worked on and they treat their employees bad.

One of the worst Walmart Supercenters in the state of Maine. This doesn't go for all staff members, however, customer service is usually terrible due to rude and dry associates. It is obvious that most have zero desire to be there let alone help you when it is needed. Cashiers are normally deathly slow if they are even at the register at all.Although it is not the fault of the staff, bags are just a forgotten luxury that you have to either beg for or buy yourself. I am in understanding that everyone is going through a plastic bag ban, however, it comes as an unpleasant surprise when they finish scanning and you are left tossing a bunch of loose items into your cart with no prior notice.It is also a HUGE inconvenience that staff lock the entrance by the gardening section very early in the evening during the winter. This is especially annoying when you have to buy wood pellets and have to resort to walking across the entire parking lot to get to and from that area. This issue has caused me to leave the store entirely and go elsewhere for more expensive options. I cannot imagine the frustration that the disabled/elderly have with this problem especially whereas these items are not available for curbside pickup. This is a major lack of customer service as they are neglecting responsibilities as well as making the shopping experience more difficult than need be.Advertisement signs in the store are also not always appropriate for children whereas they display people in lingerie/boxers. This is completely unnecessary and not something that I would personally approve of for young eyes that do not need to be exposed to those types of things.Quality products are also very limited unless you are willing to settle for Great Value brand. The shelves in the food isles are practically wiped out besides a plentiful array of Great Value products, which are cheaply made and typically include unhealthy and harmful ingredients.The bakery/deli department is also subpar and in my opinion, a buy at your own risk type of deal. An article was published about how an employee working in the deli had not taken proper precautions and ended up contaminating food with a transmittable disease. This is absolutely unacceptable and downright disgusting. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to work, however, shame on Walmart for hiring people with a contagious disease to work around food and potentially infect a large portion of the population. I will certainly never buy anything from this department and I advise others to be extremely careful when doing so.The good: some staff are an absolute pleasure to chat with and have an outgoing personality. Some go way above and beyond their assigned tasks and deserve to be recognized for their outstanding service!Unfortunately, I would not recommend this Walmart location for many reasons and these are only a few. This store has an endless amount of room for growth and sadly it has only gotten worse over the years.Update 7/3/2024: stood in line for 20+ minutes just to find out they cannot accept my gift card. Wasted probably 10 additional minutes to find this out. Cashier was borderline rude/nonverbal. Other employees standing at register with closed sign just watching the line grow.

Teeny tiny Walmart. Has maybe 20% of the stock of literally any other walmart. Creepy drunk men follow me and pester me almost every time I walk in the door, and I tend to avoid this store over this. Also, the entire store smells like sulfur, and the layout is odd and confusing. Lots of empty shelves, oddly dim lighting, overall creepy vibe.Why 3 stars then? This very vibey employee enthusiastically complimented my tattoos. Made my day. I hope that lovely human is staying safe from the drunk men. Also, the online pickup is quick and the employees do a good job.

A friendly Wal-Mart with an odd layout. Cheery staff. All Walmarts have bad entrance roads, this is one of the worst, stop signs hidden in trees, stop signs that serve no purpose. Just a tenth of a mile from EV chargers
