They are always kind and courteous. They will answer all your questions to the best of their knowledge. They will recommend doing more research before you purchase some critter that you think you have to get that day. That makes it better for the both of you, making sure it will be the perfect fit to join to your family. We have bought stuff just because we had to have it that day and unfortunately we lost our baby lizard we bought because we didn't listen to what they had to say and us not doing enough research before making the purchase..

One of my new favorite pet shops. A friend recommended them to me and I was really impressed. The animals seem healthy and happy, and I love that they have info posted in the fish section that instructs you on cycling your tanks and advising about proper Ph. The shop cat is so precious too!

I can only speak for my experience. We recently bought a West Highland Terrier. He’s a great puppy with good temperament and the vet visit went well. My point being he’s well adjusted and it shows he was treated fairly and humanely before we received him. I’m very happy with the puppy and the service I received.

We bought a cockatiel from Family Pet in 2022 then made the drive up again from Portland in 2023 to get a ferret. Their animals are handled every day which makes them much more social, friendly and adjusted than pets bought from bigger pet stores. Prices were also much lower than our area, and customer service was very polite and helpful. We won’t buy small animals anywhere else!

Very lovely owner and her family. No issues with store at all, but...I would NEVER recommend their groomer Karen! I dropped off my cat to be groomed. I wanted her buzzed down because she had a couple of awful mats, but I walked in to witness my sweet cat being pinned down while being aggressively combed with an awful metal comb...I mean really pulling her fur out, like torture! I heard my cat and she clearly was uncomfortable and being hurt! I was dumbfounded and interjected very nicely, to say that I just wanted her buzzed, like we discussed, to please not try to comb her out. Karen immediately got a very UNPROFESSIONAL attitude! I said no more, I'm taking her home. She rudely took my cat off the table and put her in my carrier! Why did I even leave her a very undeserved tip?! I will never go there again. This woman was rude, and has no compassion for animals! Do NOT just drop off and walk away, watch your babies! Owner took 50% off, but honestly there should have been no charge at all! My cat did not get groomed and this was supposed to be a lion poo.

At the end of September 2023 I walked into this store for the first time. I was greated with very friendly staff as I looked at the birds, couldn't ask for a better service. On October 1st I went back and bought this beautiful cockatoo . We named Sam,as I absolutely fell in ln with.again they greeted me with open arms. all there animals are well kept. Beautiful establishment. I'm very happy with Sam and he's so smart. Sam and I plan on going back for food and toys . Thank you pet connection for a great experience and helping me with all the questions I had. Your availability fabulous.

It's very clean and organized for a pet store. And it's also the only pet store in all of maine, around here, that sells live feed mice for snakes within about a 50 to a 100 mile radius. Their employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices are also very reasonable as well as their selection.

Want to say a BIG Thank you to Family Pet Connections, you have made our mother soooooo very happy with her new beautiful kitten that she has named Mia. Everyone should visit this lovely little store that has everything your pets could dream of and more. The owner was just wonderful and staff were super helpful in getting everything we needed for my mom's new furbaby. Our Family is very grateful for this little kitten, for she has made our mother so happy beyond words. During this tough time we all are going through, loneliness and being separated from daily life as we know it is hard for all of us. Wonderful pet store for "parrot fanciers". There is a ton of merchandise and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Plenty of chance for interaction with potential pets as well! You may find parrot prices above what you'll see elsewhere, but if you are a bird lover you understand why that is a GOOD thing.

Helped us with our fish wherever we had questions, we love our betta fish and keep them in 10 gallon to 2.5 gallon tanks. We also were new to fish and what is needed to keep them happy and healthy, these folks helped us every step of the way to water needs, food, flooring for fish (rocks) and other items. Many times I've stopped in and had them check my fishes water and nice as could be

Helpful and they have everything you could want or need for your pet. I came here for natural pet products for my aging senior dogs and a great cat stand for our new kitten/cat we adopted. Thankful for the help and products I got here for our pets. Way better than buying online imo! Shop local! Oh yeah, the store cats are so cool it's worth going to play with "Toes" for a while.

Just had my dog groom there and she didn't awesome job the store has so much for parrots they sell birds and they even have puppies for sale there really is a lot of great stuff there and the prices are pretty cheap too

I absolutely love this store! They have just about anything you need for your pets. If your looking for a new pet they have a wide variety to choose from including snakes, mice, tortoises, fish, and occasionally puppies, ferrets ect. They also have some cats that wander the store you can interact with while shopping.

Very disappointed and I see they sell puppies from so called "private breeders" The puppy there was lying on a plastic tray to stay off of the wire floor if it's pen. Some states ban the selling of puppies, kittens and rabbits in pet stores. It should be done in all States and rescues and shelters should be supported. Breeder dogs live a horrible life. Also had overcrowed tanks of small animals. Won't bevisiting this store again. Heartbreaking 💔🐾

We were having a hard time finding crickets for our pets, they had plenty in stock and they were bigger and healthier than we had been buying at the big chain pet stores. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the store displays were well maintained. Very pleased, we will definitely recommend them and be shopping there again!
