Went for the first time this weekend for the equipment sale, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome it was. We had read some of the past reviews and were skeptical, but wanted to try it. And we are so happy we did. It was a great time. Only downfall was smelling the yummy food while we were trying to concentrate on bidding. We would highly recommend trying it to all and experience it for yourself. It is definitely worth the trip. And we will definitely be going again in the near future. Thanks to all for a great time.

Went to auction. Prices were crazy and what items I did buy had missing pieces. No returns. So, I got robbed basically for a pile of junk that doesn't work.

An essential trip for anyone from the city slicker to the farmer. Where else can one down inexpensive refreshments whilst watching people bidding on livestock at great prices? Animals are treated well (though the uninitiated can be horrified, I’m sure). Workers are pleasant and the people watching is an added bonus.Drive your truck as it gets muddy and get there early for a seat.

I love auctions but this one was not one of them. Had nothing to do with what they were selling but the fact they have most bidding done by the employees or family members. I have never seen an auction that felt more rigged. And to top it off they changed what my bid was and over charged. It was only a couple bucks but refused to rectify with multiple other people agreeing. Not very organized. Make it very difficult for people to see what item is current auction. Clame items are new but also saying how they used them for a while.Really not great prices on anything because certain people just drive up prices.I do not like leaving negative reviews and will say atleast they were very nice and friendly.

Founds the animals we were looking for, but it was quite chaotic and felt rushed out the door once we paid.Could use an online feature, or even a paper schedule to help you avoid sitting around for 3 hrs before the part you came for begins.

The owners are nice people. The handlers are great to work with. The place is loaded with country characters. They are friendly. Some of the stuff is junk, but some is good . You have to know your stuff., They have a wide variety of animals that u cant find anywhere else. Its catch as catch can as to what u will find there. I go regularly. If you are a wannabe farmer u should go.

F'n LOVE this place. If you're squimsh, this place probably isn't for you. It's not a petting zoo, it's where farmers buy and sell live stock. That being said, I do wish they'd bring back the junk sale before the animals are on the block! 😉 Great place, great people, and a ton of animals. Gentlemen, don't let your ladies go alone less you come home to a new zoo venture! You've been warned.

Interesting place with really interesting folks. I love coming here because I never know what I’m going to find. I also really enjoy the auctions. I will never be able to recommend Somerset Auction Co unfortunately because of their grossly misinformed animals handlers.Over the years, I’ve bid on and purchased numerous livestock from SAC. I’m always pleased with the conditions that animals are kept in while awaiting their new homes. Clean, fresh shavings, enough space to move about..(No food or water but beggars can’t be choosers) However, without fail, the methods that they use to handle the animals placed here is the same, year after year.. At best, it is lawless and abusive.I highly DO recommend visiting here, and bringing a recording device. On my last visit, one gentleman exclaimed after repeatedly beating the nose of a pig “as long as there’s no cameras around, right?..” In the age of technology I’m not really sure why we let this continue. Are we so afraid to confront people? Or is it that we just don’t care? All the shame in the world on you, SAC. You have so much potential to be an amazing auction. Why risk your livelihood because you can’t move forward. People don’t beat animals anymore. I’ll try to link video in the comments, or Email me directly to see a short video. People lie. And people will sugarcoat. video footage of abuse does not lie.

If you want to watch grown men punch newborn calf’s in the kidneys to make them standup then this is the place for you! Ever seen a adult shake a chicken? This is the best place to view this and the abuse of other animals... maybe you want to bid against the actual seller for a cat piss quilt or a broken piece of furniture. Watch as the little cronies bid items up, yes the people working the actual auction will bid against you. If you win something be careful you own it and they are done with it and will literally toss it outside where you can watch your newly won item break on the ground, rain or shine! After, make sure and check your bill... I purchased something for 12 dollars and half way to my vehicle realized that the girl working the window charged me 72. When I went back and started to explain... she cut me off and said “oh his writing looked like a 7 or a 1” how convienent she picked the 7 to go with... I could tell she was lying. When I got home I was excited I had won a bag of grain. It had been wrapped up and very well sealed with packing tape. The auctioneer had said it was a bag of grain. I opened it up and it was saw dust. I canceled my check. When Randi Ratcliff (the girl who works the front desk) has been harassing both my business pages. Making threats of calling the police. Harassing emails and reviews. Yes I know her full name because she uses her Facebook page to harass me and my businesses... Telling me she has been calling me over and over. With no missed calls this adds to the list of this unprofessional women lying to me. She sends harassing threatening messages over and over and has not taking one professional step in trying to contact me in a proper business manner. This auction is disrespectful to people and the animals they are selling. I wish I could leave zero stars but this young lady is about to get a lawsuit slapped on this joke of a auction house.

They were the auction company responsible for the S.A.M. confiscated gun auction at the Sportsman's Show in Augusta on 3/31. I've never seen a more disorganized gun auction (and I've been to dozens). Everyone around me was commenting about how bad it was run.

Started out good years ago but now it's mostly a junk/trash auction. They don't care if the seller bids against you. Great place to buy broken cat urine soaked crap pulled out of a dumpster 80-90% of the time.
