We had a wonderful time at this campground!! Astrig and Steve are so friendly and helpful. When we saw there was a sit on the water we were able to move and spent our last 2 days on the deck overlooking the ocean! It was a beautiful 3 day stay! I think it would be so much fun to be there when the crafty activities are happening!! Will definitely be back if ever in this area!!

We have had one of the best camping experiences ever this week at Searsport Shores! From wonderful music to beach visits to walks in the woods to joining in at the artist in residence activities- it has all been such fun. Creativity abounds here. Yesterday the artist table had all ages , from a few of us retired folks to a young mom with two early elem boys. It was fabulous having such a great age spread. The mom did a great job of helping them while also enjoying the project herself. Last night was storytelling around the campfire for the kids and us kids at heart. And it will be pizza dinner with great live music in a few nights. This place rocks! I never want to go home!

What a fabulous campground. It’s really a unique place, with its own special atmosphere - I was lucky enough to be there for the alfresco pizza night! Shady spots for a tent, and the sea is a stone’s throw away. The owners know just how to personalise the experience for the campers, and the result is a lot of happy people. Many thanks for truly memorable stay!

Super nice place. Disappointed to hear that they now require a 5 night minimum for cabins, even the very small artist cabins. Sucks for people such as myself and wife. We both work busy, steady professions so we look foreword to extended weekends when we can. But now it seems like everyone up Maine way requires you to take a full weeks vacation to enjoy yourselves. Guess we will have to move on to the next hidden gem.

We stumbled upon this little slice of heaven our last few days in Maine and it is AMAZING. We adore it. If we are ever back in Maine we will be coming back. There’s livestock, fresh eggs, produce, so many artists to learn from, concerts and the gardens are beautiful. Everywhere you look there is something to beautiful to see. The water is so close as well. Everyone is so kind and friendly. Our favorite spot to date.

I arrived at the end of a cross-country bicycle trip, pulling in at the end of a much too long day. The owners were very much accommodating, the campground was beautiful, and my oceanfront site was ideal… and too top it off it was the Wednesday night jam session at the stage! It turned out to be my last night on the ride, and it was a beautiful way to end the trip!

Loved this place!! The staff/ campground hosts were down to earth people who enjoy the simple pleasures in life :) It’s all in the details for me - the flower/veggie garden, the walk in tent sites, the art work and you’re right on the ocean!! It was just all around a wonderful place to say. Highly recommend! If you’re going to stay in Maine - stay here ;)

Friendly staff, great sites, clean restrooms and laundry. They have some "rules" which are simply common courtesy and sense to ensure a positive experience for all campers (ie, if you're pulling out before 7:00 AM do your hook up the night before so you're not waking your neighbors). The beach typical rocky Maine coastline and tidal (Penobscot River). There are activities and music but far enough removed that you can relax undisturbed. Lovely place

We rented kayaks (even though we weren't staying in the campground). The staff couldn't have been any more friendly, helpful or hospitable. The campground looks pretty large, and accommodates tents, campers and RV's. They also seem to have lots of activities to do - including some crafts projects led by "Santa Steve" who, when he walked across the street from us and waved, made us believe we were in the North Pole. The kayak rentals were fairly priced, and their beach allowed easy launching/landing. Penobscot Bay was calm the morning we went, and we were lucky enough to come close to a seal and loon.

Pleasant place and really nice staff. Showers were separate from the bathroom facility—had no curtain between shower and the area to hang clothing while showering, so all dry items to change into get wet. Beautiful camping area and views.

This was our second visit here. We tent camped here before baby and now came back with our 2 year old son. This place is magical. The forest, the ocean and the animals make it the perfect place to come with a small child. We love that the tent camping is a car free zone---peaceful and safe for kids. The sites are lovely. The facilities are clean (and we were very impressed with their COVID changes and precautions). The owner, Astrig, is a lovely person. Highly recommend.

Our first adventure into camping in many years with a tent. The site was very friendly and quiet (we were there early June). Our spot was close to the ocean so a really nice breeze kept us cool. Fire pits, water access and picnic tables at every site. Dog friendly and a small easily accessible beach (though stoney like most in Maine). Clean bathrooms and showers too

Booked online after seeing images online and arrived yesterday. Breathtaking view from the waterfront site we booked. My wife and I have visited Maine several times over the years but this is our first trip with our kids. They are wide eyed as this is a totally different ocean view than they are used to in NC.Eager to get out and explore Acadia to York during these next ten days. Campground is an absolute gem, people are very helpful and friendly, the waterfront sites offer views we have never seen, highly suggest this campground to anyone wanting to visit the Maine coast.Proximity to many great areas for short day trips, 1-2h, nubble light, Portland light, Freeport, cabbage island clambake, Eastwind Schooner, Camden, and of course Acadia. Only 2-3h from Baxter State Park and Mt Washington cog railway.

Calling Searsport Ocean Shores a campground is a disservice. This is a community. Astrig and Steve take their time to personally know each guest and make everybody’s experience amazing. The grounds are beautifully kept, and gives the campground a magical, whimsical feel. The local artists take the time to explain their craft to the guests and especially the children. My children made some great friends and gained some beautiful memories here.On our way out we had some trouble with our electric entry steps. Steve and another member of the community came and helped us out until we were able to rectify the problem. We will definitely be back annually. Don’t skip out on this place, it is a must stay while in Maine!

The view was gorgeous from our campsite. When we were escorted to our campsite, Richard was guiding us in. He told us to swing wide and as he was watching the front, I told my husband he was too close to another trailer. Richard heard me and said he’s close but he is clear. And what do you think happened! The tongue of the trailer damaged my trailer and hooked into the bumper. It took at least 45 minutes to get the trailers unhooked. Needless to say when I talked to the owner she said well your husband was driving so he is responsible. She gave me insurance information and I called 3 times until I got a hold of anyone. He said he would call me back but of course I didn’t get a call back. The least they could have done was apologize and at least pay my deductible. After all we only did what Richard told us to do! And the pet policy is you can’t leave your pets alone in the trailer when you leave the campground. Which is why we will not return to this place.

With gas prices so high, we almost canceled our trip. So glad we didn’t. This place was a Shangri-La!! Run by the best people. Astrid was beyond kind! The staff was super helpful and patient. The place is clean, fun, and gorgeous!! I’ll let the photos speak for themselves!! Highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Our stay at Searspoet Shores was very pleasant. Staff are friendly and helpful. The weekly artist guest was a treat to associate with. Our cabin Dilly Dally was cute, welcoming and private. Their vegetable and herb garden was beautiful taken care of. The goats were a treat to see every morning. All in all great experience here. If ever back in Maine i would definitely go back.

First off, I'll say the staff is mostly friendly, and the location is great! The water views and being able to walk on the rocky beach were beautiful. And we visited Belfast, ME a bunch b/c it was a great little town nearby. The goats on site were fun too!But then there's the not so great stuff. Our site was very muddy when we arrived. No one else around us was muddy, only our site (#23). So the owner (Steve? I think he was one of the owners) made us park our RV at the front of the site to avoid the mud. Which meant there was no where to park our jeep, b/c he said we couldn't park on the grass (even though several around us were parked on the grass!). So he gave us a tent camping spot nearby to park our jeep, but it was taken every time we tried to park there. So we had to park our jeep kinda far away and walk to it. Pretty annoying since no one else in our row had to do this that I know of. Also that part of our site remained muddy our entire stay. Then we had electrical problems. We woke up one morning and realized we had been running on our batteries all night. Long story short they finally discovered there was a bunch of fried wires at the breaker box (the box was shared by about 20 RVs I think) and so they had to hook our power up to another campsite. and my husband said the fried wires looked really bad but the guy that helped us said he wasn't worried about it b/c he would be done there as a work camper in just a few days and it was someone else's problem. Now they did have several people helping us all day to try to get it fixed! But it was still annoying to have no power in the first place. Also, they have a "no lights after 10 pm" rule. Which is fine, a rule is a rule. But they showed up at our site every night at around 9:50 to tell us we needed to turn our lights off. I guess they didn't trust us to turn them off in a few minutes? I dunno. When we talked to other campers, they too had some issues with the strict "rules". But I honestly don't know their specific issues, so I guess it would be unfair for me to judge that.Anyway, like I said, the location was amazing, we were just really disappointed in our overall experiences here and it was the most expensive place we've stayed lately.ETA - I remembered another problem! The wifi. It did not work for us at all! Not on a TV, or tablet, or phone, or laptop. We were in the "silver" section I believe. Which was one row back from the ocean front sites.

Stopped in to look at sites for camping. After I looked at 9 or 10 sites and chose one I was told that I would not necessarily get the site I chose on check-in. She said that she shuffles everyone around and she chooses the site before check in. The only way for me to lock in a site is to stay a week. I drove from Bangor. Was very disappointed.

We heard great things from others about this campground so we decided to take our maiden voyage with our first new camper. We were not disappointed. The grounds are awesome views r perfect and the owners could not have been nicer. I had an electrical issue with our camper and Steve the owner did everything he could to help. That was above and beyond what most camp grounds would do. The goats and sheep are so cool. This will be a yearly if not twice a year stop for us.

Our first glimpse of Maine was magical. I could just imagine the fairies and leprechauns everywhere! Each site has its own rewards. We were not on the Ocean but site 93 was private and perfect. Walk 5 minutes to the Ocean or the garden. Flowers are everywhere even flowing down the steps to the ocean area. As you venture out intoMaine be sure to visit Belfast, Camden, and Stockton Springs. There are forts, lighthouses and small towns all worth your time to see. Eat lobster rolls snd visit the harbors! Bar Harbor is better to visit during the week not weekend and be sure to make whale watching reservations ahead of your trip. A great day on the water! We moved campgrounds to make a 10 day stay. Best idea ever!

I cannot even begin to describe how perfect this tiny slice of Earth is. The owners are amazing and so friendly. The facilities are clean and warm. The cabins were the best accommodations for a couple who are not really made for camping but wanted to give it an honest try.And the goats... and sheep.... they were perfect too.
