1st time visitor - I'm a local who has passed by many times and always wanted to stop in. Today it was open, so I checked it out.Super friendly staff was very attentive. I knew I wanted a pannini but also wanted to check out what else they had.Wines, sauces, oils, flavored salts, drinks and of course, fresh baked goods.Tried a sample of the rustic bread and oil - delicious!Will definitely return and cannot wait for the actual railroad car restaurant to open.

Probably one of the friendliest places I’ve ever been. We got our paninis instantly, they were super fresh and amazing, samples of bread with olive oil, and a delicious dessert. Absolutely stop here for amazing fresh food and bread.Pictured are the croissants and bread we took home for breakfast tomorrow. So good.

The sandwiches are really good, even cold. I love the jalapeños on the Antonio. The mini ciabatta rolls are perfect for breakfast sandwiches. Anise cookies are soft and cake-like, just sweet enough, and not overpowering of anise.The two women in the shop were very friendly and helpful, and offered samples of bread.I'll definitely come back and try everything!

I know it's out of the way. We showed up on opening day. This place is 3 hours from my house and I will honestly drive back. I'm not a huge fan of sausages but they changed my mind. You can get icecream here too. Located near state parks.

Completely unexpected the hospitality from the owner. The most gracious super friendly staff. We spent an hour having sandwich coffee and different kinds of bread freshly baked. You must stop by and get some bread. Massimo made my day. Glad we stopped in today.

The absolute best Italian food I have ever had the pleasure to experience. The service and overall experience was excellent. The menu for this meal had great choices which made it hard to stay small with our picks. I went here for the first time this week and got the most delicious sandwich, the melanzane (eggplant and mozzarella and greens). They heated it up for me so the cheese was melty and delicious. The bread was incredibly fresh, too! I also got some anise cookies to go and they were amazing too. Fast, friendly service and a super cute store! I’ll have to go back for dinner soon.

This little Italian shoppe/deli/batista is so amazing! I had the best mocchiatto ever! Actually went back later in the day for another. Incredibly delicious freshly baked breads and the sandwiches are to die for, full of good quality deliciousness! Icing on the cake is that the owner and everyone else makes you feel like a good old friend. Can't wait to go back!

After hearing about this place for months from a coworker, I finally checked it out with my daughter. We tried the spinach pizza and the tradition tomato pizza - it reminded me of a trip I took to Italy years ago! The owner and staff were so amazing and welcoming. The food is authentic and so yummy! It was a great experience and I will definitely go back! A "must try"! Thank you!

We ordered 2 pannini to eat outside, they were excellent. We really love this chef's food, so we ordered to go, potato foccacia and the regular foccacia, a pasta dish, Parpedelle Bolognese, and cannolies for dessert. Even though we were seated outside, staff was so helpful. The chef himself is so welcoming and personable do not miss this incredible food!!!!

There aren't many meals you keep remembering fondly months after. The panini at Massimo's are so good I'm still craving them (unfortunately I live many hours away). Truly delicious, outstanding, the work of chef who loves the art of food. Get bread while you are here, too. It is magical.

Stopped for coffee and ended up getting espresso and a panini - soo amazing! The woman helping us was very friendly and let us try some bread and olive oil with garlic salt - it was incredible! Definitely a good stop!

This is a "must do" stop visiting Maine! The owner makes everything fresh daily! He is very friendly and the food is fabulous! We grabbed our food to go each time after our adventures. Our first evening to our cabin after many hours of travel even though it was closed....he welcomed us with open arms and we had fresh food and wine for our dinner.

Fantastic!!!!! Lobster Rolls are simply fantastic... Glad it moved into the railcar... In beautiful Searsport... 5 of us ate there 3 times within 2 weeks, every meal was tasty... Then walk across the lot to the depot for some delicious ice cream.... real blueberry ice cream yummy!!! Must stop by and enjoy both a meal and dessert!!!!

Good food, but fancier than your average route 1 takeout, with a price tag to match. The creative and Italian twists are interesting, tasty, and fun; it just wasn't what I expected. I absolutely recommend trying it, just don't go in expecting steamed shellfish and loads of warm butter.

Stopped in around 2pm and was surprised by the charm of the old railway station redone into an Italian restaurant where you can eat outside and be Covid safe. The food is fresh , quality ingredients with a hand made chef inspired combining of great flavors. There is also a market where some wonderful imported high quality products can be purchased at a fair price. Recommendations and teaching about the foods falls from the chef/ owner to you, so it is a cultural and social experience. I loved it and will return with friends and family to enjoy more.
