This is a tale of good and bad. I took my mom here for the finnan haddie special. She hadn't had it in years so I thought it would be a nice nostalgic meal for her. We both started with chowder. She had the clam, I had the haddock. Both were very good. Served with crackers and nice rolls with butter. Mom got the finnan haddie, which is a smoked haddock served on top of mashed potatoes with a white egg sauce. She realized upon the first bite that it was quite cool, so she did ask if it could be reheated a bit. The waitress was so apologetic and took it. It came back super quickly nice and warm. Unfortunately it wasn't quite up to what we remember it tasting like. The white sauce was super bland and it was hard to find the fish. Mom did have enough to fill her up, but she decided not to take any home, although there was more than half left. Her pickled beets she got as a side were very hard. I had the half fried haddock and half scallops dinner. The fried haddock was the saving grace of this meal. Crispy, flaky and delicious. The scallops were wet and sogged the batter but I did bring them home to crisp up in my air fryer. The waitress was wonderful. I would definitely return, but we will stick with the fried seafood.

Really good restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the inside of this place. Great selection of food options and sides. My prime rib looked overdone but was rare just like I ordered. It was very good. The onion rings were really good and hand breaded. My lobster stew was fantastic. The clam strips were delicious as well. My wife had the parmigiana haddock and said it was delicious.Parking: Even have motorcycles parking

I was so impressed with everything about this restaurant. If you want the Maine lobster experience this is your place. We arrived as the place opened at 11:00 an adorable hostess came out with the biggest smile and welcomed the crowd waiting flipped over the open sign and began seating the guests. A friendly gentleman man was finding tables as the hostesses were seating everyone. We chose outdoor seating right by the water. The view was fantastic it looked like what I pictured Maine to look like. We ordered the down east lobster experience. It came with clam chowder, a whole lobster, corn potatoes and mussels. For dessert it came with a delicious slice of blueberry pie. As we ate we saw the lobster boats coming in and selling their catches. We couldn't have hoped for a better experience.

Great lunch. Wife had Haddock Chowder and I had the Haddock sandwich. They gave me mozzarella cheese sticks in place of fries and I threw the marinara sauce on the sandwich - boom. Lunch is served.Great little stop and worth pulling over for a meal. Great staff, and can you believe Coke and Pepsi in the same room!

Very happy with this find. Driving from NY to Acadia and need to find restaurant by pretty late. Not too many restaurants opens at 7:30 and offers Maine's local catch. We wasn't big fan of fried stuff, but Anglers made it right. The fried baby shrimp has a light coating and are very sweet. The lobster roll has lots of lobster meat and very fresh tasting. The boiled haddock is juicy and no fishy smell. The coleslaw is also very good. We are all very impressed with the food taste and quality. Spent about $100 for 4 adults and 1 kids. Good price for seafood. We also messed up the order when we call in. We wanted haddock and I pronounced it wrong and they put in hot dog. They changed the order once we arrived and only asked us to paid the difference. Very friendly staff.

A family friendly restaurant on the way to points north (and south) for us. We return as often as we can. The welcome is genuine, the food is very good. The atmosphere is warm, honoring those who bring in the fish. There is a particular respect for veterans and a table set in their honor, for those who served and cannot be there.

Anglers is a terrific place where out-of-towners mingle with the local regulars. The food is ample and delicious, not just the seafood but meats too. I favor liver and onions with mashed potatoes (granted not everyone’s cup of tea) it came perfectly prepared. Service was pleasant and attentive. Additionally, I left my credit cards case (with cards) and when I desperately called the next day iI was able to retrieve it from the very nice manager. Do try Anglers, nice place to stop!

We've eaten here a few times. Always pretty good. Portions are a good size (although this is the smallest half portion of the pot roast I've had from here). My finance had the fish which he loved. He said the batter was excellent. The FF's were hot and crispy and the veggies were good. The dinner rolls we got beforehand were fresh and hot. The staff is pretty nice here. The locals love this place. I've heard several staff members great patrons by name. You know you're doing something right when people come back.

We always enjoy eating here. The food is just as good as the staff. We had the all you can eat chicken tenders (reverse batter is the best) and had the loaded potato skins. They changed from the last time we had them and they were better than before. Would definitely recommend to others.

So good! Unassuming place with some fishing related decor, we came for dinner 9 minutes before th we'd kitchen closed, and they still made a perfect meal for us. Had the NE clam chowder (delicious! )and the Wednesday fried fish special with home fried potato chips, and when they say perfectly fried, they mean it!Desert is supposed to be superb as well, but we were too full this time around :)Kiddo got a folded boat plate with the meal inside, which made her happy.

Very good. Busy but no wait. Very good service. Broiled haddock and salmon were a little bland, therefore I reduced to 4 stars. Sweet potato fries and blueberry pie were the best I ever had.

Anglers is a Seafood/Fishing themed restaurant that can be located without a fishfinder next to Baits Motel. Yes, not THAT Bates Motel which made showers famous but one that is also fishing themed. Play on words and all that, anyway. Anglers has reeled in a 5 Star rating from this reviewer. Here’s why:We entered this eatery on a Thursday in the late afternoon and it wasn’t crowded. We usually don’t stop because it is ordinarily shoaled as a recently revealed secret fishing hole. So today there was no wait time and their customer service was excellent. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the place was heavily decorated with Fishing paraphernalia, that was quite awesome. It was a reviewer’s dream for picture taking and just generally a FUN place. The wait staff all had cool sayings on the backs of their shirts like “Fishing: A jerk on one end of a line waiting for a jerk on the other end”.The food was excellent. My friend had the lobster roll but we still had enough $$$ left over for me to get more than a piece of bread and water soup (Unlike some places). Seriously tho, the orange chicken was zestily delicious and they had pickled beets as a side! The menu was a full boat of selections.I don’t give a lot of 5 stars, but this is no fish story, Anglers is worth the trip. I can’t wait to try the other two locations!Good Service, Atmosphere and Food. So if you come to the State that has a lobster on it’s license plates or are already lucky enough to live here, don’t let this one be the one that got away.

Normally we enjoy the fried seafood. This time I decided to order broiled scallops and salmon tips. Not only did I only get pieces of scallops, there was ZERO flavor. No salt, no butter, no lemon wedge at all. How can you make scallops and salmon taste like a glass of water and charge what you charge for it? Highly disappointed especially when it's take out
