Located walking distance to Pine Point Beach, the bait shed is the perfect place to grab a bite. There’s a small parking lot located parallel to it. There is also scattered street parking. Typically on a busy day, a reservation is highly recommended. However, on a sunny Tuesday afternoon my party of 1 happily sat at the bar area. They have a dock that’s stretched out into the water with many picnic tables and umbrellas. For my meal I opted for the slider sampler and a house margarita. Prices are competitive with seafood in Maine, but well worth it. The sampler I ordered included a lobster roll, clam roll, and shrimp roll. All had Mayo, all were delicious, and all have me wanting more. This place is great! Cool spot to grab a bite, hang with friends, and enjoy the view!

Such delicious lobster rolls. Friendly servers. Umbrellas for shade. Locals that were happy to recommend their favorites. Nice view.I ordered a double and am so glad I did! Yum! The cucumber cooler drink was so light and refreshing.Parking: Parking available on sight

A great place to have seafood and bring you pooch with you.I am traveling with my pup and was looking for a spot to enjoy lobster with a view. I found all of it in the Bait Shed. The staff was nice, my lobster was delicious. I probably would not go here on Fri night or on weekend but it was great during a week day!

We come to this restaurant every year during family vacation. Food and drinks here are very good, but overall pricey for what you get. The view is nice and if the weather is good, it's a great spot to eat. However, our large group of 9 people was quite disappointed when we were all put on a single table even though we had a reservation. Not sure if it was intentional because there seemed to be lots of confusion when we first arrived. We barely had space for our elbows while there were 2 free tables next to us for most of our stay there. This has impacted our overall experience as it was quite uncomfortable throughout our dinner, especially when our big plates arrived. Overall it is worth trying at least once and I definitely recommend going at high tide to avoid bad smell from the ocean and enjoy the view!

The Bait Shed has one of the best locations to eat in Pine Point/Scarborough! I would highly recommend for a lunch or early dinner spot. They only have outdoor seating, so keep and eye on the weather and be sure to bring a jacket if you’ll be there when the sun is going down as it gets quite chilly by the water! Their service is excellent— kind and courteous through and through! They have parking, but it can be busy, so give yourself a couple minutes before any reservations to park and get up to the host stand. No reservations? Be prepared to wait! It is certainly worth it. The food is overall great, but a bit pricey— you’re paying for the experience for sure!

A truly scrumptious meal on the water! Our waitress was so kind and helpful! We had a lovely time.

I would say 3.5. Service was good, coleslaw was boring with no flavor, plain have kettle chips, lobster roll had little flavor and the actual bread could have tasted fresher. The Ahai poke appetizer was good. Was sat by kitchen window with the fan going so loud it was hard to enjoy the meal. Bread pudding was very good.

Make a reservation before going, the ppl that walked up were told 1.5 hrs but we only waited about 15 mins after our reservation slot. Sat in the back deck with an incredible view of the water. Tide went out as the sun set and made for a great evening.

The wait was really long. They told us it would be an hour but it actually ended up being an hour and a half. The food was really good and the view is beautiful especially around sunset. I thought that the lobster mac & cheese was overpriced. It was $45!

Gorgeous views even when the tide is low. For the sandwiches, the only real deal is double shrimp roll. Btw sandwich meat is served cold 😳. They have a full bar and the lobster deal is in buying the lobster dinner not the lobster roll. In the roll comes 3 1/2 oz but in the main entree 1.25 lb lobster. Go big or go home. Don't forget to ask for your parking angel 😇 before head over there, parking is at the maximin there; otherwise, you'll be walking. Picnic tables are everywhere. Great if you're not disabled and have kiddos. Hard to get into and out of with aging parents. Also, make a reservation or be prepared to wait a long time.Kid-friendliness: No fries.

No one seems happy to be working here except for one or two employees.I ordered 1/2 dozen raw oysters on the half shell and wasn’t impressed. Half of the oysters had paltry amounts of meat and the shells were filled with shards of shell that I had to keep picking out of my mouth. Not a lot of finesse from shucking.$18 for 6 mediocre oysters wasn’t very satisfactory. Feels like a tourist trap and even if you’re a born-and-raised local, expect to be treated like more of a nuisance than a customer.

I was hesitant because of only a 4.4 rating and last night we had rubbery lobster. But we were determined to try again for proper Maine lobster and tonight was AMAZING! The place was packed and there was a 45 min wait so we went into Bayley’s Lobster Pound and got the freshest, biggest shrimp cocktail we’ve ever had. It was the perfect appetizer to tide us over while we waited. Once seated, we split the lazy man’s lobster and a bowl of clam chowder. The lobster was the meat of two lobsters PERFECTLY baked in breadcrumbs. It was HEAVENLY! The chowder was also fantastic and despite them being ridiculously busy, our service was excellent. It’s right on the water so we enjoyed GORGEOUS views of the sunset. If we have time on our short trip we’d love to come back. Thank you!

Good fresh lobster, a tad over cooked though.Quite pricey in May, but you get a nice pier setting.Take the weather into account if you are eating outside. It can get quite cold and humid out on the water. The paper towel on each table was super useful.Their house drinks are well made! They use plastic cups though, nothing reusable.Potato salad that comes with lobster dinner was just ok. The corn was quite good though especially for off season corn!Clam chowder was thickkkkk, so if you like a thinner chowder this isn’t for you. Quite delicious.Service was quick and friendly!

If you visiting the area this is a must do! After a small wait you will be seated right on the water with amazing views. The food is incredible with great portions. Small bar serves great drinks and the service is friendly. One of our favorite spots and is supported by the locals which is always a good sign!

Excellent staff and a great spot to enjoy a quick bite, a few local beers, or a delicious meal! We had the lobster roll and steamed clams on our first night in Scarborough by recommendation of the bartender, TJ, who was very kind and welcoming. It is well worth the wait to be seated on the water but you can also sneak a spot at the bar and converse with the lovely staff!

Crowded Saturday afternoon so we were lucky to score two seats at the bar. Great for people watching. Had steamers, crab & avo salad, and Caesar salad topped with lobster. Two rounds of drinks completed the meal. Everything cooked right, fresh seafood and produce, and very attentive staff. Will make this a regular stop. BTW, cannot beat the view!Parking: Small parking lot, so when it's prime time, could be a challenge.

We stopped in her for lunch right at the end of the season and it was so worth it. The lobster was fresh and delicious, the veggie pizza was also really good. The view is fantastic and the staff was super friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.Parking: There is a small lot right out in front.

We came for lunch and ordered the broiled scallops and steamed clams. The scallops melted in your mouth and the clam dish (actually an app) was a large portion. I'm only docking a star here because the clams were sandy. Seating is outdoors on a dock/deck or sand/grass area overlooking the marsh. Our waitress was friendly and took good care of us.

The souvenir glass & the gorgeous sunset put this over the top! If you like seafood, outdoor dining & an unpretentious, beachfront ambiance with solid service & good drinks this is a must! Best meal so far in Old Orchard Beach. Bring a light to read your menu & see your food after dark and plan ahead if going during high season on a Thursday - Saturday night b/c you could wait awhile. This is a definite do-over for us.

Everything we got was incredible. The lobster bisque stole the show though. By far the best I've ever had and it's not even close. Beautiful sunset view over the estuary, awesome staff, good drinks. Exactly what summer in Maine should feel like.

Great food, great location. There isn't really any indoor seating but we enjoyed a lovely evening on the dock. My lobster was perfect.

If you want fresh lobsters, this is the place for you! I came here with my husband and two of our friends for lunch and the twin lobsters we had did not disappoint. The meat was super juicy and paired well with the butter on side. They also had steamed maine clams (as most places would in portland), which were also equally as good as the lobsters. In short, i will definitely be back here again for my next trip to Portland to enjoy their lobsters again :)

Such a great spot! All outside, so don’t forget your sunglasses, and they said they serve in the rain, too! Lobster, clam chowder and service was all fantastic! We’ll be back again and again!
