We bring our 2 year old, 70lb, Bernedoodle to Loyal Companion in Saco for grooming. He has a lot of energy and a long curly coat. We have tried a few other groomers but have not had a good experience until trying Loyal Companion. He always looks beautiful and seems so much happier than he has with other groomers. We finally found THE BEST! Amelia does an amazing job!! She is really good at what she does and has and clearly loves working with animals. Thank you Amelia we so appreciate you 😊

Loyal Companion in Saco is my go-to for all of my dog’s favorite treats. The staff is super friendly and always greets my dog by name when we walk in. Benny is always so excited to visit!

Beverly! She is so very knowledgeable and super nice. She took the time to educate me about doggie nutrition. I had it all wrong. My Lulu is thriving on their pawsome food and treats. The prices are comparable to the online stores and all the staff make pertinent suggestions and are always available to answer questions. Check them out!

Brought my dog in for nail trim.. and I will definitely go back! I LOVED the groomer,Amelia! She has the most amazing energy with dogs.. and people too! She’s friendly, sweet and has a confidence and calmness about her. My dog can be a little nutty, but it was no problem for Amelia! She did an excellent job with my dog’s nails and cleaned up the shaggy paw hair and they now look amazing! I also have to say, the price was extremely reasonable! I am so pleased with the overall experience with the groomer Amelia, that I will definitely be bringing my girl Abbey back for any and all if her grooming needs! Thank you so much Amelia! What a blessing you are! You have restored my faith in competent, ethical and caring groomers! I’ve looked and wondered, for quite some time, if I would ever find that special groomer that I knew I was looking for.. and then Amelia appeared…prayers answered! Amelia was an absolute joy! What is normally a very anxious and stressful situation went so smoothly.She let Our 9 year old lab take breaks during her bath to rest her legs and back which I thought was an extra level of appreciable care.I love having the option to grind nails rather than clip.Will definitely return.

This has become my favorite pet store! At first, I wasn’t too crazy about the fact that they don’t carry some of the more popular brands - but I’ve come to love what they offer. We have had many health issues amongst our cats over the last couple of years, but the high quality food they offer has made a huge difference in not just their gut health but their overall health too. The employees are also very friendly and knowledgeable!

Our very shaggy and dirty 15yo Westie just finished a perfect grooming session with Amelia. He looks amazing and whiter than we have seen him in months. She treated him like a star. We highly recommend this place for your dog’s spa day.

We needed to get my cat some new food and adventured to this cute little pet store. They have a great variety of different foods! Beverly was the girl who helped us decide what we should get for our cat. Our vet suggested blue Buffalo but I couldn't find the certain kind our cat needed anywhere. Beverly suggested us N&D and told us the recalls on blue Buffalo. She was super nice and was very helpful. I would highly recommend coming here!

We have had all our dogs groomed by the groomer and we LOVE her (I wish I could remember her name)!! We have 3 different breeds and she makes each of them looks great and respects our requests. So happy we found her. We will keep going and highly recommend her!

I LOVE Loyal Companion and all of their employees! Beverly went out of her way to do research on what the best food for my dog with Cushings disease was. She had printed out pages upon pages of what I should be feeding him. It’s very rare to have such good customer service like this. All of the employees there love our pets just as much as we do! I highly recommend them if you have not been!!

Highly recommend Rebecca for your pet grooming services. She wanted my dog comfortable so she let me stay and just be with her. As times goes by I don't think I will need stay but I love that it is an option. She is knowledgeable of dogs and their signs of anxiety. Will be bringing my Rue here from now on.

Very poorly operated and understaffed, after having to wait for my first grooming appointment for 2 months, showed up, waited 20 minutes only to be told they couldn't complete my dogs grooming appointment that day. Terrible first experience and will not be back, I'll deal with petsmart, their prices are better and their service is better. If I could I'd give them less than 1 star. This is no way to run a business.

I needed curbside delivery due to an injury and called down to get some help in putting together an order. Amelia helped me and not only did she steer me in the right direction but she spent a long time measuring things that I needed figuring out what was the size what was the correct product and just went the extra mile to make it a seamless experience. When I got home with my order she had tucked in a bunch of samples and little surprises that were so adorable and I was able to try some of the samples out and found the perfect food for my new puppy I just can’t say enough about the service and the positive attitude of the employees as well as the friendliness and cooperation.

I’ve been in twice to see Becca for minor grooming needs for my puppy (nail trim & eye hair trim). She is amazing at getting him to feel comfortable and she really likes to get to know the animals she’s working with. I highly recommend her services!

Stopped in to look at the animals and possibly giving one a new loving home but went in and they are more focused on adoption which i understand but even the adoption system is ridiculous. Very disappointed with Loyal Companion Stores. I loved bringing my kids in and showing them the animals and teaching them about the different kinds and now can't. We tried adopting a dog once and they would not let us because they did not like that we had a house with a small back yard not good enough for them. Very sad you guys stopped selling fish animals etc. Can't even buy anything for ferrets really anymore like a bed.

Although the groomer did a great job, she was unfamiliar with soft paws; surprising for an experienced professional. There was a lot of confusion related to services being rendered between front desk and groomer causing multiple phone calls and pricing updates. Prices were very high and unreasonable. I won't be returning. Very disappointed!

The staff are helpful and knowledgeable; even taught me a couple quick dog-training tricks. I'm used to shopping in MA, where every single item is legally required to have a price tag directly on it. I guess that's not the law here in ME because at Loyal Companion, almost nothing has a price tag either on the item or on the shelf. That's INCREDIBLY annoying. Not enough to make me go somewhere else but... almost.I simply MUST go down to four stars because this store sells prong collars. I came to Loyal Companion (previously PetLife) because I read their philosophy of being always kind to animals (to the extent of saying they don't buy from people who yell at their dogs). So to find such torture devices on their shelf was pretty disheartening.To be frank, if that one thing changed, I would be so happy that I wouldn't even care that I need to ask for a price-check on almost every single item and this would become a five-star review.I still recommend this store. Loyal Companion is definitely the best pet shop I've been in. Amazing staff: both friendly and helpful. Prices are actually pretty good; I just wish they were better-displayed.

I feel this is a dog oriented pet store. Has a very good selection of wet and dry food for dogs and cats. Also is priced very well. Staff is also very nice. They also have things for some fish and small mammal pets. I feel good with buying pet food from here, looks to only have great brands.

We had been taking our dogs to another facility for several years. Due to their lackluster customer service we took our dogs to loyal companion in Saco, Maine. I have to say I wish we had gone sooner. Our little guy was done quickly and for the first time in as long as we can remember he came back clean, smelling great, and in good spirits. They are now our one and only groomer.

Store seems to be decent. I was disappointed with the times they had for grooming cats. 9,1,and 2. Doesn't give someone working a day job much opportunity to schedule. I don't believe they do weekends, at least they never offered those hours if they do. I'll find another place a little more accommodating.

I haven’t experienced such faith in a pet supply store in my life! Bailey, my 6.5 year old pointer has had food allergies and has never been real interested in eating her dinner. When the heart disease health information was released we realized then that we needed a change because her food was at the top of the list. I called loyal companion for help when Beverly answered and helped me choose a food that would meet baileys needs. Bailey is now ecstatic about meal time! She has gained 6 lbs and her coat has improved significantly. Beverly was patient, kind and incredibly thorough during our initial interaction. And now fast forward approx 7 months and with all these added uncertainties, she has been there with continued support to assure my bailey has her food! From Bailey and me, I want to say to Beverly, and the team at loyal companion THANK YOU!

Every time I have gone to Loyal Compainion, there has always been very kind and helpful staff. Rachel was working today when I went, and she was more than helpful and nice! Another plus is they carry a variety of rodent food for my fur kids.

We absolutely love Pet Life in Saco and the entire Pet Life family! It is the only pet store we shop at. The employees are beyond helpful and polite!! We love that it is a small place and has such a comfy setting. They help many rescues and shelters and for us that's very humbling. Both of our dogs are rescues, as well as our 2 cats. So we know first hand how much of a difference they are making in many of these animals lives. We love you all over there at Pet Life!! Thank you for everything! There have been so many changes to this store with no warnings- I was in last week and bought crickets. I went in today and was told you no longer have them and will no longer carry them. It would have been nice to have been told this last week. A similar thing happened with the Loyalty program and the free bag of dog food. When this change happened I was told that the manager would call me because I should have gotten the free bag. I never received a call. I'm disappointed with the lack of communication with customers. I will be taking my business to PetSmart.

They treat your pet like family, and it should be with prices of most items! Very expensive, and have excellent items. Can get some at local stores much cheaper but they have such stellar customer service, those who come in and spoil their pets are die hard loyal. Gotta love a business like that!
