We recently stayed at Rockwood cottages and could not have been more pleased with our choice! The property was extremely well kept, the cottages were clean, beautiful and well laid out. We also got to meet the owners and they were so friendly and had the sweetest kids! I came for a girls weekend but will definitely be back with my family. Thank you for a wonderful stay Kelsey and Josh!! I will be sure to bring Ms. Ruby some treats next year 😊

Thank you so much Kelsey and Josh! We had such a fantastic vacation at your cottages stayed there from August 10-16 with my husband and 11 year old grandson. Love the new updated renovations. Was there awhile back with my 2 daughters. The cabin was wonderful and so clean making our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. We were at cabin 1. Beautiful Moosehead Lake and Mt Kineo as your front yard is beyond breathtaking! The sky and stars at night were so clear you felt you could reach up and touch them! We did guided tours for moose and fishing as well as hiking, kayaking and swimming. All such fun! My grandson is now hooked on fishing! Such a memorable time and to be out in nature’s paradise! Highly recommend to stay here!

Beautiful cabin with a beautiful view. Cozy quiet and clean and had everything we needed. Newly renovated. There were three of us total staying here for an ice fishing trip. The cabin is right next to the trail going onto the lake so it was super convenient. Bait and tackle shop is a two minute drive. The host Kelsey was super helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had . I’d definitely recommend this place !

I recently made an impromptu decision to book two nights at the Rockwood Cottages. I had stayed there over a year ago under different ownership, and I was excited to see the new renovated cottages that the new owners Josh and Kelsey were now managing. I had the most relaxing and restful time and love what they have done to the cottages to make them very warm and welcoming to all that come. They are very committed to creating amazing stays for their guests and are open to any and all suggestions to assist in making that happen. I appreciate their enthusiasm and commitment in their new endeavor. I can't wait to go back again!! Thank you Josh and Kelsey.

The view from the cabin is spectacular. The recent renovations give them the update they needed. Clean and all the amenities needed for a cabin stay. The beds are comfortable. The area is so quiet. It was a great place to just relax. And that view!!

These cabins are amazing! They did such a wonderful job renovating - they are truly beautiful and cozy inside. They provide everything you need for a great stay. They also have outdoor equipment you can use while staying there. Our family used the canoe to paddle out to Mt Kineo State park - we loved the adventure and made memories that will last a lifetime. We stayed in mid October, and the foliage was just insanely beautiful everywhere you look. Definitely recommend staying here and hope to be back! Thank you Kelsey and Josh!

We stayed at Rockwood Cottages in August 2022. I had been following their renovation journey on Instagram and was excited to check them out. WOW. The cottages have been top to bottom renovated and have all the luxuries of home. You have an amazing view of Moosehead Lake and Mt. Kineo. A 20-25 minute drive will take you into downtown Greenville for restaurants, shopping, and the amazing Kate steamship. We even saw a Moose on our drive to town. The owners of Moosehead lake are friendly and want you to enjoy your stay. They include amenities to use such as kayaks, fire pits, grills, etc. They also have boat slips so you can bring your own boat to enjoy on the lake. They are there if you need them but let you enjoy your stay in peace. I am am on the road salesperson so I am used to staying in hotels. I was so pleased with how clean everything was and I felt like I was in my own home! I always find something wrong with cleanliness and there was nothing for me to say here! We typically come to Moosehead 1-2 times a year and have stayed all over the lake. We loved our stay at Rockwood Cottages so much we have already booked for 2023. We look forward to many years of staying with them!

Dennis and Emily have a fantastic place. Dennis was a great host with all kinds of great info of the area, he helped us see some moose, as well as put us on some good fishing spots. Cabins were very clean and there are all kinds of activities to do onsite. Great view of Mt. Kineo from the the cabins. Would definitely recommend staying here if visiting the area. Also Dennis has some great moose antlers for sale make sure to check them out if visiting.

This is such a quaint, lovely place! We stayed in cottage #1, the Lake View. The name is not an exaggeration! We could see the lake and Mt. Kineo from the living room. There is a sweet screened porch, too, but it was too chilly to use it.The cottages are spotless and well-stocked with everything you need. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot. We made good use of the living room recliners in a couple of nights when the temps dipped into freezing. We especially enjoyed starting our day with coffee on the dock and ending it by sitting on one of the swings, stargazing, the Milky Way is amazing!Dennis and Emily have a real gem here and they are wonderful hosts. We hope to return!

This was our first time at the Rockwood Cottages and we had a fantastic time! My wife and I, along with another couple, stayed there 3 nights. We made the most of our time there by swimming, fishing, hiking and renting kayaks from Dennis and Emily. The views at this property are stunning! We saw 2 moose, loons, ducks, a deer, and eagles. Every night, we sat near the waters edge around a campfire. The view of the stars was amazing. Dennis and Emily have adorable cottages that are cozy and have everything you need for your stay. And they are very friendly and accommodating. We are already planning when we will visit again!

The best part of the place is the view from the dock, but unfortunately the cabins were run down, beds were uncomfortable, shower made you wish you never got in it and the place smelled (probably from the 40 year old smoky recliners). Supposedly there have been renovations in the cabins with water views, but not on the far end of the property at cabins 6 & 7, foundation of the cottage is also crumbling and needs attention. Owners are trying to sell so guessing no further investments will happen until new ownership.Current owner seems tired of the work and it shows.

Great time at the Rockwood Cottages. Awesome local attractions and the cottage grounds are great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the pet policy. I booked through airbnb thinking it's a pet friendly place. When I got there, the pet policy consisted of not allowing your dog to be left in the cottage without human supervision. This is something that probably should be listed on airbnb in the description. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I am happy we stayed there. I will definitely come back!

Great people, great space, great price. We called short notice, less than a week before we wanted to stay, and they were more than accommodating. They had the cottage nice and warm, left the light on, and gave us some fresh moose sausage their son had harvested the day before. I would definitely recommend "Rockwood Cottages" to anyone. It was nice to find a place that didn't make you stay a two or three night minimum. Thank you both for the wonderful hospitality. We are planning on coming back this winter ice fishing.

We have stayed at Rockwood Cottages a few times and will continue to go back. Emily and Dennis are great they are so nice and accommodating. The cabins are very nice and the beds are super comfy. Such a relaxing time, I can’t wait to take the family back.

(We did indeed stay here, but google has not updated from my maiden name, which is why you do not recognize me. I apologize for any confusion and here is a more complete review.) It is my understanding that the cottages are under renovation and not all of them have been worked on yet. The cottage we stayed in is one that has not yet been renovated. Having not seen the renovated ones, I cannot comment on them.The reason I gave 3 stars is that it is not particularly child friendly. The locks on the bathroom door cannot be undone from the outside (they are of the hook variety and are on the outside and inside of both doors), and my child almost locked himself in. All of the knobs (water heater and something unknown on the wall) and knives are easily accessible. We had trouble keeping the front door closed and I could not get it to lock from the inside. Having doors to the bedrooms would also be nice.All this being said, the view is beautiful, the cabin was very clean, and it was nice to have a covered porch to enjoy the view relatively bug free. The kitchen had a good variety of dishes and silverware, a nice sink, a big refrigerator, and stove/oven. We didn't get a chance to cook on the stove, but there was a nice selection of pots and pans available. If you don't need a microwave, you're all set.While I've only given 3 stars now, I would look forward to trying out one of the renovated cabins next time to update my review.

We loved our time in these cottages. With two bedrooms, one of them housing bunk beds, a well appointed kitchen, and a living room with two very comfortable recliners, these would be perfect for a family. The hosts keep the cottage very clean and they are very welcoming. They shared some of her home baked bread with us too! There are splendid views of Moosehead Lake and Mt. Kineo from the porch. One could relax in the comfy chair on the porch and look at the fishing boats on the lake for hours. We will be back! Five stars!

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend to go snowmobiling and had a great time! We loved the cottage, was very clean and cozy. Everything we needed was right there. The owners were very friendly, responsive and accommodating. Definitely planning to come back again!

Dennis and his wife run a great place. Very friendly and helpful. Very attentive. They own a nice friendly dog that seems to greet everyone. The cottages are nice and rustic. They have just what you need. Great lake/ice access. They could use some new pillows and mattresses. But alot of places seem to overlook that stuff. All in all I had a great weekend and a great stay at rockwood cottages. Thank you Dennis!

We had a wonderful time! Emily and Dennis were helpful, friendly and welcoming. The cottages are rustic, as advertised, but clean and fairly well equipped. There are boats to rent, nice slips and dock, and a waterfront firepit area. Some of the lights in the cottage had issues, but I know it's probably on the 'to do' list. Would definitely go back!
