In the past, I’ve had some great made to order items here…especially during the busy summer months. In the last few months, I have tried 2 items from the pre-made cooler and two soups. Both soups had an inch of oil on the top and were over seasoned to the point that I ended up tossing them after trying to salvage the ingredients. The salad had old lettuce (which I also tried to eat around but gave up). Today, as I forgot to bring my lunch to work I tried something again out of convenience while grabbing my am coffee (coffee has always been fine). This time it was Italian breaded chicken cutlets (2 in the package for $21)- it was sinewy, chewy, overdone, and some of the breading tasted rancid and moldy. Definitely not worth the $. I know it’s hard to keep this type of inventory in the off season-I really do. I hope that greater attention can go to training staff consistency and awareness of quality of ingredients…I would like to be able to come back and try again and be pleasantly surprised. I felt I needed to say something after making the mistake of not saying something the first few times.

Bravo! Main Street Markets was the one stop shop for our visit to Rockland. Went in looking for local craft beer and a few provisions and left with almost everything we needed. Great assortment of soups to go. Heat and serve meals packaged togo so we could enjoy more time with our family at the cabin. They even came by and catered for our last night so we didn't have to worry about dishes! Main Street Markets covered everyones dietary needs, gluten free, vegetarian, even toddler!! Can't recommend enough, what a great find!

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch, 2/15 ordered 2 sandwiches. Waited over half an hour, one girl making 7-8 smoothies then went over to the sandwich area and saw there were orders there. She didn’t realize there was sandwich orders to because no one was helping her.Mean time the lady who takes orders knew this but was sweeping floors,etc. Another girl with dark hair was just roaming around. Felt bad for the one girl (wearing a hat)who was doing it all. Food was ok, but if we go back, will just do the grab and go.

They serve beer/wine but you can't consume it there.Menu is small and not particularly unique but the few hot sandwiches they serve are great.They don't have tap water as an option except via a sink in the corner near the bathrooms which is rigged to have only hot and hotter water. I can only imagine this is too incite people to buy drinks.There's also limited seating.

The food is ok. It's very bland and flavorless. We've been in twice, and each time they tell me "oh sorry we don't have that." So, I need to change my choice to something else. Then I'm told they don't have that either, resulting in a 3rd option. Clearly, they can't get their inventory under control. Since they did their reopen, they are dysfunctional and unorganized.

Dropped in to get grub for a lunch business meeting was I was having locally. I ordered 8 sandwiches, a bunch of smoothies and a variety of potato chips. Guy who rung me up asked me why I was in town and because I was doing an health education session, he gave me the Main Street discount. Totally unexpected but very much appreciated.Hot food was hot, cold was cold. Everything was as ordered. I enjoyed the BALT with turkey - delish! Highly recommend.

I usually only buy a hot lunch here. Every day there is something different in the chaffing dish. It's always good and exotic! I wish the manager would advertise better so more people would show up for lunch here. But then I might not get lunch because of being sold out or something! Always worth a try! Best kept secret in town!

The prepared food here is delicious. The best tuna melt I have ever had (and I am not exaggerating). The market salad was scrumptious as well. Their garden seating is very peaceful and the staff are super friendly! Also, for the dog owners out there, they are fine with your dog coming through.

We went in because it smelled really good. Ended up having a really good lunch. I had the Cuban, my wife had the avocado toast. No complaints with either. Served quickly, tasted really good, and good service. Took some bread pudding to go, was also really good. Highly recommend.

Underwhelming, probably due to a lack of competition which is usually the case in small chic Maine towns. I ordered a grilled cheese which was supposed to be a combo of three cheeses. The thing had literally no taste except for an oily warm flavor. And it was $7. Come on. The soup was ok, but I got four spoonfuls for $4.50. I enjoy spending my money on things that are quality and worth it. This wasn't worth it. I gave 3 stars for them actually having an employee to serve me and for atmosphere and for being open at 4:30 pm.

Horrible experience. The woman taking our order acted like she didn’t even know what she was doing, very very overpriced.. nearly $40 for 2 sandwiches and 1 salad.. no drinks included or anything extra on the side. Food was horrible, the Caesar salad was super gross and bitter and soggy.. my husband couldn’t even tell what type of cheese was on his sandwich. Never will go back. Save your money

This place had everything. I mean the selection of food, drinks, and other fare is simply amazing. The quality of it all is impressive too. The cafe has a really great menu. I can't say how glad I was that we stopped in and discovered this spot. It's very unassuming but really great.

Expensive but worth it. They usually offer vegan soups in addition to meaty ones...all delicious. They have a variety of healthy groceries and to go meals. The gal who makes their baked goods must be a 5 star pastry chef. Seriously amazing baked treats.

As long as you don’t order a hot breakfast sandwich you can pick up good food items here. Our 2 egg sandwiches took 45 minutes! We were trying to get somewhere and this stop was a mistake.

Delicious ethnic varieties of daily hot entrees and 3 amazing soup options. Build-your-own fresh salads. Wonderful, imaginative takeout dishes for home entertainment and pot lucks. The specialty market always has plenty of surprises. Helpful staff and easy parking. A local favorite.

Had a yellow chicken curry today with basmati rice and grilled vegetables. Chicken was cooked perfectly! Super delicious dish and reasonably priced. Good cold dishes ready to go whenever I come in. Good variety of products. Vegan and GF options available. Friendly and helpful staff. Great job Main Street markets! I highly recommend.

Love the wine, beer, and liquor section. It was fun to browse and look at all the unique and rare products. The breads and meats from the smaller store inside were incredibly tempting. I was there for a book signing and enjoyed the event!

Nice staff, quality food. Perfect for lunch, sandwiches, salads and smoothies are great! The only "bad" note is that they charge a bit too much for the local beers they sell.

Main street market is a very nice looking small market. They offer a great variety of items with some pretty decent service. The presentation of this place is great and the prices are pretty reasonable. They have a good selection of food that is decent quality as well. When I was younger, this place was a dump but now of days it looks so good and is very clean.

We had a dinner party for 23 people catered by Main Street Markets. It was wonderful!! We had steak sandwich sliders, Maine crab claws and crudité for appetizers, and delicious bbq chicken with the best broccoli slaw I have ever had for dinner. Everyone was raving about the food and service as MSM made it so easy for us. Ill definitely call them back to cater my next dinner party and I will definitely stop in for that broccoli slaw often - hope it's a regular item in their grab and go

Main Street Market is the #1 quick, healthy food option in Midcoast!!! They use locally sourced, quality ingredients in their prepared foods. The local, ethically raised meats that they sell, they also use in their prepared hot foods. Although I rarely eat meat, once and a while I will eat it from here because I know where it came from. They have DELICIOUS massive breakfast sandwiches before 11am. They serve three rockin' hot soups daily and have a great hot food bar cooked by their talented Chef Tim. If you have diet restrictions, or just like to eat clean, they can accommodate your needs. They have paninis, salads, smoothies, and yogurt bowls. This is definitely the community spot to gather and eat well, and I am SO SO grateful to have this place on OUR Main Street. Keep up the great work!

Always reliably tasty and fresh. Kind and sweet staff, a "wow" beer 'n cider selection, and such yummy baguettes. Never a problem finding something for dinner on the way home from work. Thank you!
