Working with Jake and his family was an absolute treat. I just moved to Maine and had heard thru the sledding community that this was the most honest place you could possibly go for anything off-road.I’ve been an entrepreneur and in sales in some way my entire life. Despite his assurances that Jake was the best guy out there, I went with my friend who was buying a side by side to “make sure he got a good deal.”Well everyone was right. Not only did Jake and his team bend over backwards to accommodate my friend's purchase, but they went the extra mile with delivery on a day off, honest thoughts about financing and how to truly save him money in interest, and even holding the vehicle based on just passing interest until he could meet up with us.There should be a sixth star.Go stop by and look around at all the cool nostalgic stuff there. Take some pics for your instagram or whatever and buy a dope hoodie or t shirt that supports their ATV/Snowmobile clubs.Thanks Jake!!

Boss power equipment was awesome to do business with. Chris was exceptional, never did he not make us feel welcome . As two women buying sleds he was informative, knowledgeable and never condescending as other dealerships have been. The prices were fair , all staff we came in contact were very nice and helpful from helping us to load our machines to showing us all the features and genuinely caring about our experience. We were not just a number or sale they care about your satisfaction . We snow checked our sleds back in March 2021 , Chris kept us informed from delivery to Boss to the building of our sleds . We can’t say enough good about this place , definitely would recommend them .

My family and many close friends have purchased snowmobiles here for many years because the knowledgeable staff are friendly and always willing to go the extra mile for us with any need or special request we may have. The sales floor stays well stocked with all sizes for those times you forget some gear at home or looking to upgrade your old stuff. Or like in my case when you break something and need the part to ride the next day. My daughters (now age 7 & 11) have grown up taking special visits to Boss most weekends in the winter and are always happily greeted! Not just by staff but even the owners Gwayne and Usha. Rangeley is our home away from home and Boss has a lot to do with making us feel that way. (The picture attached was a sled my wife borrowed from Jake so she could take our kids to the snowmobile clubs BBQ this past winter)

Boss is the Boss for a reason! I’m always in there buying new sleds or accessories. Bo always seems to have all the parts you want the most. If he doesn’t have it-he can get it quick. I’ve had a couple new sled issues the past few years, the first issue I had was a CTS sensor. Jake got me in the shop after hours (at like 9pm) and took care of the issue. My most recent purchase was a new can am x3. I know I was a total pain with the back and forth picking a windshield and a plethora of other things. All Jake and Bo cared about was making sure I was all set up!

If you have unresolved issues with Boss Power Equipment, I would highly recommend filing a formal complaint with the Maine Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division in Augusta. All it takes is a simple letter detailing your problem(s). The more complaints that are filed with the AG’s office, the higher the probability of a formal investigation of Boss’ significant consumer abuses, lack of any resemblance of customer service, and unwillingness to honor legitimate warranty claims.

As a young women, I have always felt very uncomfortable shopping at Boss. Their staff is creepy and I always felt they were judging me when I asked questions about the shop. I felt like they were staring at me even when I came to just look. I never felt welcome there especially as a woman. They were more interested in the fact that I was a woman than the fact I was interested in one of their products. I never felt like I was taken seriously when shopping there. I will never be back.

I had a great experience dealing with Chris in sales. Top notch guy! He went out of his way to make sure everything was as it should be on the sled I bought. He had the shop take it inside and double check everything to ensure I was getting a ready to ride sled. Absolutely will do business/send business to them. Great team all around!

Boss’ customer service is so bad, I’d rather have a Root Canal with NO Novocaine than shop there again…I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Also, I learned more about customer service on my first day in Management 101 than Boss’ ownership and management team have accumulated since they started the business.

These are the guys you can trust! I bought a used sled here in October and they were super friendly and it was a good price. I didn’t have a chance to use the sled until recently and when I did use it I discovered that the sled had problem and had to be fixed if I was to be able to go for a ride — when I discovered the problem, it was late on a Friday afternoon. I brought the sled back to the guys here at Boss Powersports right away. They took me right into the shop and fixed the sled perfectly. They didn’t charge me anything for the repair! and they saved my precious weekend ride! I use the sled all day the next day and it performed terrifically! I will definitely be looking to Boss Powersports for my next purchase !

Chris, Jake and the Boss team truly know what customer service is all about. When Jake was helping us load our new Ski-Doo in the trailer, he noticed that my son’s Artic Cat was missing an oil fill cover. Within a few minutes he appeared with the assembled part from their stockroom… amazing! Boss cannot be beat when it comes to knowledge, service, price and the whole buying experience. Thanks guys!!

What can I say.... Jake and his crew here at Boss Power are great! Again another year we had snowmobile issues. They stepped up and had my clutch fixed in a day. We have purchased 3 snowmobiles here and have always been treated right. The clutch repair was done quick and reasonable. They could have charged me an arm and a leg but instead they didn’t take advantage! Thank you again!!!!!

5 stars for the Boss Power crew! We drove in 10 minutes before closing with a boat & trailer we just purchased and realized the trailer lights were not working and we had a 3 hr drive home ahead of us. They took us in and fixed us right up quick. Great staff, exceptional service!

I cant say enough good about Boss. Im not a local, and as such I really depend on them when we are up here. Jake, Chris, and Bo have always gone way above and beyond to help us out with parts and service and sales. Dealerships are spread so thin with lack of help, parts, and inventory but they do everything possible to get you back on the trail. I cant imagine anyone leaving a subpar review on them. Treat people with respect and they will do the same. If you are demanding or entitled, you may get what you deserve.

So I recently purchased a sled from Jake. I was diagnosed with MS a few years ago. I was told that by now I wouldn’t be walking , on top of everything, my finances have been a complete disaster. I really wanted to give riding a chance again. I had purchased a sled from a different dealer but it just wasn’t the sled that I really , really wanted. Boss had taken the one that I really wanted on trade. Jake went out of his way for me and did everything he could to make it a possibility for me and succeed. He asked me how much I paid for my sled , he than made sure that I didn’t loose barely any money at all or else I wouldn’t be able to get the sled I really wanted. . Everything Jake told me happened exactly the way he said it would and on time. I heard a lot of things about Boss and they weren’t always positive so my lesson is don’t believe everything you hear because I not only made a friend but I would recommend Boss to anyone who is looking for sales , service or parts. Stop by and see Jake an the crew.

Boss power equipment helped me out huge this weekend. Talked to the service rep Jake about getting a minor recall done on my sled. Said bring it right out back he was able to do it fast then had them tighten up my track. Turned out something was wrong with my slide rail and some things got busted along the way he spent his night helping me get my sled back on the trail the for the next day. He really went above and beyond on he stayed late just to get the job done. Have 2 buddy’s that have got sleds at boss too and they have no complaints with the boss team. Can’t wait to order up a new side by side with these guys late spring.

The crew at Boss is easily the most friendly and knowledgeable staff in the northwest region of Maine. They are more than willing to assist you with anything powersports related. Just stopping in and having a conversation with them is enjoyable. Their viewpoints and advice on the powersports industry are awesome. They have worked on my pwc and their price is honest and fair. Awesome variety of new vehicles and accessories as well as some Stihl products. Highly recommended. Hope to purchase new from them in the future.

Bought my sled there in 2018. Dropped it off for an overheating issue on Jan 7, 2019. It's now March 1, 2019, I still have no idea what went wrong with it or how long it will take to fix it. Jake accused me of negligence and indicated Ski Doo would laugh at me if I tried to get it warrrantied. I explained the situation to Ski Doo, they didn't laugh and agreed to fix the machine without hesitation. If you don't live in Rangeley, don't buy your from Boss, they don't have the resources to fix what they sell and will keep pushing your machine down the scheduled to take care of their buddies.
