I come in yesterday ( friday/ Nov/24/2023 around 4pm to buy Ndagara( small fish from africa) tanganyike or tanzania.When I was looking and read the package,on my left side they was a young lady of color,petite with a black jack or sweater( employee ) who was adding more and new fishes in the freezer.she is rude and disrespectful.she curses on meShe her.

Hands down the worst “grocery store” in the state of Maine. Not one thing in the produce department wasn’t either moldy or rotten, meat clerk was wearing normal everyday clothes with no gloves on putting rotten meat on the displays, and there’s 3 pallets filled with packaged sugar and salt and not a single one didn’t have a gaping hole in them, management is non existent and should be ashamed. If this was happening at any other store they would be seriously fined or shut down

I like this store because the food is probably a bit more affordable and most importantly it's closer to where I live, and closer than before due to the shortest walking distance. But as of today as I was about to pay for the items that I bought at the checkout counter, a couple of children and their parent crowded over me when I was trying to pay for the items I was purchasing (i.e. shaving cream, razors, bacon cheeseburgers, canned pasta, iced tea, etc., etc.) and that made me nervous. I can't concentrate on anything when people (regardless of age) cross my physical and personal boundaries---especially when I was trying to pay for my food out of my card, and children are being a nuisance as they are getting in my space. I've asked them nicely to please give me some room so I can pay for my items in peace. They ignored my request and they annoyed me. I was frustrated with the children for getting in my boundaries, and I insisted the children and anyone else to take a few steps back while I pay for the items I was buying. Normally I'd give this store five stars for the price of food on an as-needed basis, but due to today's incident, I'd reduce it to three because of the children getting in my space, and I would appreciate it if people don't give me a hard time about it. This is not the first time I had to put up with the incident. It happened at first two years ago. Parents really need to set an example for children to get them to respect other people's boundaries. And also I don't like it when children are running around in public places (and this store is no exception). They're running around not being aware that they would endanger everybody---including themselves.For the record, I don't care who they are, but I don't appreciate the cashiers drumming their fingers when I'm trying to get my money out to pay for their goods.

Save a lot is an amazing store. I miss having one here in NH it is an amazing store that helps families get loads of groceries for an amazing price. The only store where people low income can feel like they can supply their families for a month at a time that isn't restricting on their wallets. If I could request one thing it would be that Save A lot come back up north to new Hampshire. The only downfall some may have is that they use boxes for you can pack your goods of you can buy bags for 10 cents each, but worth it for the price of food.

Yesterday 12/14/2022 my girl and I were at the store around 8:30-8:45pm getting ready to checkout. There were two gentlemen ahead of us with less than 10 items in their cart and when they showed that they vouchers to pay, the cashier didn’t seem to mind but the manager (Kleet I believe) started yelling at them as if they were not paying customers, it was really disgusting and shameful behavior. He looked at us and told the cashier to take us first and just skip the two gentlemen, and didn’t even have the courtesy to ask them first. My girl said no, they were here first. One of the gentlemen looked at us and said it was ok since we only had one item. I asked him if he didn’t mind and he insisted. Till now I regret making that purchase which might be the last at this store. If you agree to accepting a certain form of payment provided BY THE STATE/CITY then don’t mistreat, abuse or discriminate against those who are using that payment method in your store.I know for a fact that this manager has had issues even with some providers in the past. I’ve met the owner a couple of times, wonderful and carrying person but his manager is just an awful person. I would understand if he refused to offer them the service, but degrading the customers?!?.. just NO!

Me and my wife are frequent shoppers here, everytime we purchased our food, we'll get it home & find that something has gone bad, it's frustrating, I don't know where save a lot gets there food from but there gonna get someone sick one of these days, save a lot really needs to start inspecting there food and check expiration dates, not cool

I discovered this Place several months ago and I love it! The store has friendly staff, and they have just about every item that you could need on a typical shopping trip.All of the items are on basic shelving and the store seems pretty simple too, however their low overhead reflects as their prices are incredibly low for good quality items.The place is very clean, and there is ample parking. Save a lot is handicap accessible.This Save-A-Lot location offers a wide ethnic variety of foods and beverages.I would recommend bringing shopping bags with you on this trip, and I would recommend Save-A-Lot.

Well yes Save a Lot has changed quite a. Higher prices and certain food costs more than Shaws and Hannaford stores. I stood in line to pay for groceries for 10 15 minutes. I don't shop there anymore/ on occasions.

Good for cheap( price and quality) non perishable items , canned goods,cereals etc..fruits and vegetables on the other hand?on a warm day you are lucky if they last until you get home. Meats can be touch and go, hit or miss . Overall if i need something desperately and am feeling lazy theyre ok , otherwise meh!

I love save a lot. I find so many great deals on stuff I actually want and need. They are the cheapest place in town to buy food. And the food actually good quality- not ready to go bad after you get it home. Save a Lot has name brand & knock off products. The staff very friendly, ready to help, and great at what they do. I definitely recommend checking Save A Lot out. You wont be disappointed

Great place very friendly associates that work there they do a very good job assisting you with pretty much anything you need help with I would give this five stars all day long and they also just updated the store the floor the paint on the walls and the layout of the floor for all their products definitely up to par for a Save-A-Lot in my opinion

It's okay.... It's hard navigating through the store and where items should be.. And I wouldn't trust MOST of the meat their, and you have to bag everything yourself(that's if you buy bags from them or remember to bring your own) they do have boxes available to carry purchases, but I don't think everything is easy to carry that way.. And could ruin purchases. I do go occasionally for dry goods when I'm in the area.

I actually enjoy shopping there. I use to want to save a buck when I turned 18 and still do . I stopped shopping there to buy at Shaw's I thought their food was fresher turns out I stopped a save a lot today to find I saved over $250.00 for what would have cost me close to $400.00 I only paid like $157.00 so I'm super happy today and very pleased. I will be shopping back there again soon.

I bought hamburger and porkchops. And I really didn't think that I needed to check for the expiration date,as I was in a big hurry. I got home and went to put these products in the freezer at 8pm, and looked at the labels that both said for that day. I think that is awful. The store was also a mess with only a few workers. I won't be going there again

You can save a nice chunk of change buying some items in bulk like canned goods. BRING BOXES or bags with you. Definitely worth a trip to check out how you can save. I go here once every couple months to buy by the case but only certain items.

Good prices, though, I don't trust their meat, unless it's prepackaged, like bacon or frozen foods. Once in awhile you get stuck behind someone at checkout who has $200 in food with a $40 voucher or something.

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of foods, such as almond milk, rice flour and a large selection of Hispanic and African foods.I was less happy that their prices have gone up. There were many things I could get for much less at Wal-Mart.
