Extremely helpful and friendly staff, especially the resident staff dog Ruby. Seriously they're lovely people, never had anything but a wonderful, professional, and prompt experience there. Great prices and a great selection. Also a good little boat beer fridge with constantly changing options for those of us of the island persuasion.

Very nice store great liquor and wine selection lots of micro-brews as well. Large room full of cigars. Just a heads up, not much of a juice/soda selection for mixers, but they've got what you're really their for!

This is my favorite liquor store in Portland proper - possibly because of its close proximity to me. I generally go in straight for beers or whiskey which they have plenty of options for both. Their wine has nice, quality selection for varying price points.They're easy to talk to if they don't carry something you're looking for. Kyle was really helpful with me in that regard and even gave accurate estimates when they would get back to me.

Ever since we moved to Maine we have been trying to find Founders beer, and Old Port carried several of the breweries classic pours, such as KBS! They had a much larger selection of beer compared to grocery stores, including many of the specialty Allagash sours! Whether you are looking for Maine or less-local beers, this is a great spot to stock up on your favorite drinks!

Selection is great, a wide variety of drink for everyone under the sun. The cigar selection isn't large but quality of the brands is up there with dedicated cigar shops. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. If you're visiting from out of town and looking for drinks and a good smoke this should be your first stop.

Wonderful spirits location with amazing staff! The guy at the register was very eager to help me when I was searching for craft beers without an ounce of knowledge, and he helped point me to his favorites as well as others. Giving him categories (made in Maine, sweet) didn't slow him down any, instead seeming to aid him in pointing out the best beers for my purposes. So many beers, all stacked around in and out of fridges with every flavor profile imaginable. Plus it's right on busy busy Commercial Street - so easy to get to! If you want any sort of alcohol for you or someone else but don't know where to start, I highly recommend this location.

Whether you're a Portland native, tourist, or just in town for a day- this place is a must for the 21+. They've got a beautifully curated selection of wines, beers, liquors, etc to choose from. Ranging from local brands to foreign imports they've got something for every price point. They've also got a pretty sizeable selection of cigars to choose from if you're into that. I can't recommend this place enough- a great little spot you have to hit if you're visiting the Old Port. 5+ stars!

Old Port Spirits and Cigars is a great shop. Their selection of Beer and Liquor is fantastic. The staff are incredibly helpful. I would recommend that you go into this store and talk to the staff. Tell them what you like to drink and let them pick something out for you. They'll find something new and exciting for you. If you're visiting Portland do not miss the chance to visit this place.

Best beer, wine, and whiskey selection in the city. The staff was helpful, too, when I had trouble as a novice selecting a cigar for a gift. No sales pitch necessary - asked for my price point and was quick yet thorough at explaining the array of cigars in the humidor (super cheap humidity baggies were a plus). Great place!

We had a fine experience. No one greeted us though and I didn't feel the staff was very friendly. It also drove me crazy that so many products weren't faced and pulled forward. But that's probably just my issue. :)

Beware of entering if you have a medical/breathing condition. I have a pulmonary embolism and extensive blood clotting as a result of a serious COVID-19 case and have significant trouble breathing. I was greeted kindly enough (thus the single star in the review) and was the only customer in the entire shop. I was a significant distance from the two clerks and was in front of a beer case in the rear of the store, so I pulled one side of mask down to catch my breath. Within 30 seconds to no more than a minute, one of the over-eager clerks, who evidently was monitoring me closely enough to know my mask was down, chastised me for not wearing the mask. I immediately shot back that I was dealing with a medical condition that made it difficult for me to breathe and was simply catching a quick breath. They reminded me it was a safety protocol so I reminded them that they didn't know me or what I'd been through. I then told them I no longer had any interest in purchasing anything in their shop and walked out despite the poorly-handled apologies offered as I walked out the door.Avoid Old Port Spirits and Cigars if you have any health complications that may require you to even partially and temporarily remove your mask- they will insist they were following protocols, but considering that I was the sole customer in the store and not within 50 feet of either employee, the clerk's "response" was at best an unnecessary overreaction and at worst undue harassment.

A convenient place to go coming or going from Portland. The store is right across Commercial Street from the Casco Bay ferry terminal. Inside is a wide selection of numerous Maine-brewed ales and lagers, many offered in the very handy 4-pak 16+ oz size. Also hard liquors and chilled wine...perfect for BYOB windjammer cruises offered nearby.

I like this place a lot. The prices are very fair and they always have a sale or promotion going on which is nice. I wouldn't go here if you're looking for any flavored liquor though.

Big Disapointment! This used to be a great little store, but yesterday was the third AND LAST time I went in to purchase a commonly stocked item that they did not have. (Kahlua the first time, prosecco the second and Kahlua again the third trip). Their overall inventory seems to get smaller and smaller each time I've gone in. You'll have better luck finding things at RSVP, Shaw's and Hannaford.
