Great carts, although ours was definitely slower than others we saw leave from the same place and I wasn’t sure why. There is also a 2-hour minimum rental; this was fine for us but it’s good to know ahead of time. Was happy to see they were open in the off-season as a lot of other places on the island didn’t seem to be. It was a perfect way to spend a few hours driving around the island. The GPS tracking function was also helpful to make sure we see the sights we wanted to.

Highly recommend! The location is SO close from where you arrive on the ferry ⛴️. I highly recommend getting your reservation in advance for a guaranteed golf cart. We came on a Monday and it was packed!!!Nate was such a nice guy and helped us. He went above and beyond to help our family of 5 get a cart! Great small business:-)

Mike’s Carts is the easiest, most-convenient, best-customer-service experience on Peaks Island. With no reservation, we were on our way in minutes, loaded with all the information we needed to operate the cart safely plus navigate the island, including directions to the hidden gem in my pictures. Great team, they are extremely organized, and had my cart waiting for me as soon as I walked the few steps from the ferry up to their lot. They give you a brief overview of how to drive and charge the cart and off you go. Atticus was super helpful and I would definitely recommend anyone to use this group for golfcart rentals when visiting Peak's Island.

We took a last minute fairy ride over to Peaks Island; since we were some of the first people off the ferry we were able to make it right over to Mike's Carts (unplanned). They only had 5 carts available for walk-up as most were reserved ahead of time. Worth the price and we had an amazing time exploring parts of the island we would have missed if we had not rented a golf cart.

We attempted to walk for a bit around the island but quickly realized a cart would be the way to go. Thankfully some carts were available without a reservation but when we returned our cart it sounded like all of them were spoken for for the next couple hours, so probably best to make a reservation. They did a great job explaining how to use the cart and where to go on the island. We had a blast and would recommend their carts!

Super convenient, right off the ferry. They had a great system for walk ups, very nice guys running it and a great way to see the island. Definitely recommend! We went for three hours which ended up being the right amount of time to let us explore without feeling rushed.

We arrived on Peaks Island and fortunately right off the boat we cam across Mikes Carts. I made a call and Mike answered right away. He sent me all the forms via text, easily filled them out and threw a credit card to it and within 15 minutes my wife and I were enjoying a fun and relaxing tour of the island with his golf cart. His text also included an online map we used to navigate the island. Mike is very informative and has spent years on the island so he’s an original. A good young business person. Highly recommended!!

I was visiting from California. My family and I came out to the island to explore and eat! We love sight seeing so we decided last minute to rent a golf cart! Omg it was so great. Right when he got off the boat we went in and it was first come first serve. They offer reservations online as well. We also had a last minute addition to a second cart and they gave it to us. Minimum is 2 hours. We paid for the 2 hours, and texted them we wanted to extend another hour and they were so willing to do so. They are so nice and such great people! Definitely rent a cart from them! Easy access and great people! I will be back to visit again and rent from them!

We came to Maine for a relaxing Mother’s Day weekend getaway and decided to explore Peaks Island. Nate provided us with thorough instructions on how to safely operate the golf cart and navigate the island. Nate also went the extra mile to give us food recommendations on the island and was very personable and friendly. Definitely recommend booking with Mike’s Carts to get around the island and see the beautiful shoreline while enjoying a nice breeze and the ease of driving rather than walking or hiking the terrain.

We got to ride a golf course around all of Peaks Island on their golf carts! It was so incredibly fun and the guys at Mike Carts were super nice! Rented the cart for 2hrs for $100, Not bad at all! Peaks island was beautiful and worth the trip!

Quick and easy, probably the best way to get around the island... It is a bit expensive however if you don't want to walk or ride a bike and you didn't pay to get your car on the island this is probably the best bet. The young folks that took care of us were nice and respectful... Only wish they handed out a map

A little pricey, but in my humble opinion it is the best way to see alot of the island and very worth it.The staff was incredibly helpful and polite. There were 8 of us so we rented 2 carts. So much fun!!

This is an absolute must if you want to check out Peaks Island! The two hour minimum was plenty of time for me and my fiancé to check out the WW2 bunker and climb to the top and she’s pregnant, if you’d like to relax maybe do a picnic at one of the beautiful sceneries I recommend the three hours, it’ll still be worth it!Great group of people and an easy process to rent!We will be back!

Grew up going down to Peaks Island. Used to ride the Rebel,that's how long I've been going down there. I "HAD" been going to Mike's Cart for a few Summers. Spent quite a bit on rentals on a Island that's 3.5 Miles in circumference. But my son who is Autistic loves the wind in his hair,so money isn't an object.On one occasion, I had rented the cart for three hours and we were on our way back to the Landing, we didn't want to miss the Ferry. But the cart died. I called Mike and he immediately started to point fingers at me. "You kept it too long" Yada Yada Yada. Uh No Mike,I rented it for three hours,you're the one who is obligated to have it fully charged.So,he comes to Back Shore to pick us up. At one point he takes a corner so fast, my son who doesn't know enough to hold on almost falls off. And he still wouldn't slow down.When we got back he said,"Sorry it's been a rough day!" And that's my problem how Mike!I had since decided to let bygones be bygones and attempted a few times to rent and he hasn't responded. Apparently if you have negative reviews that are clearly valid,Mike is a bit too thin skinned to accept criticism.Walk,it's healthier.

My review is more reflective of poor damage control customer service by Mike. Two of us clearly heard the attendant say the rate was "$60 for two hours with a minimum of two hours". We even asked "can we rent it for $30 for one hour?" It was probably in the enunciation that we both heard $60. We only had an hour but sprung for it. When a charge of $100 showed up I inquired about the difference in our understanding of the price and the $100 charge. There was no attempt to even meet in the middle by splitting the difference. We never would have rented a cart for $100 for one hour. I'm frustrated there was no attempt to get the bad taste out of our mouths about it.

Renting the golf cart and the golf cart experience was 5 stars. 2 hours was a perfect amount of time. You should reserve ahead.My frustrations/suggestion for others is that Mike's is seriously right when you get off the boat to the left. We missed it because there was a huge line of people waiting to board the ferry we were exiting and we couldn't see the driveway or sign. If you make it to the ice cream shop on the left, you've gone too far. We did eventually get turned around, but then stood in a long line of people WITHOUT reservations for quite awhile until we figured out they had not reserved and were able to walk up and get our reserved cart. If you have a reservation, confirm you are not waiting with walk up hopefuls.

Mike was nice a helpful. Ride around island was really nice and Mike told us about some great places to stop at. Had 4 of us on the electric cart which ran smoothly. Great 2 hour tour. Make sure you request cart on his website a day in advance! He will email or text you info to complete the transaction.

The ride around Peaks island was nice and the cart made it easy. Ended up getting back 15 minutes after our 1hr time and the charged us for another full hour ($35/per hour) but wouldn’t let us take it out for the remaining 45min as they had rented it out to someone else. Really put a negative ending on an otherwise nice experience. Wish they would have explained this policy before renting. This is only one of several rental options on the island.

Turned out to be surprisingly flexible! Cart worked fine (loved the little horn) and their interactive map of the island was super helpful.
