Found this place while I looking for someplace else. Stopped in for a couple beverages and snacks. Was impressed on how clean, organized and fully stocked the place is. Joe’ s has become my go to for drinks, etc. I’m going start trying the sandwiches soon and offer my specialized reviews.

I love this place, never an issue like at 711 or other local stores, kind friendly workers always smiling and if you ask for something they help you find it or look in the back for it. Great food to , when you're not in the mood to cook and just want to grab something quick this is a great place to do it they have some really good pre-made meals. Great subs during the day also think they make them until five pm. All in all a great little store you can get everything from alcohol smokes lottery to just friendly service from the staff.

Complete and total rip off. They charge you an extra 3.5% for using a card -- thus you get to help them with their transaction fees. Fantastic. I always wanted to help pay for my business to sell me itemsBeing able to sell an item for $4 cash but $5 on a card is shaaaady. There is only a tiny sign.

Nice store, only had really nice interactions with staff who are very polite. Clean store, and decent selection of beer. Beware the prices on the shelves are not accurate. When they ring you up it will likely be more than what it says on the shelves.

I don't know why this always happens, but they keep messing up our order. My roommate has mustard on her steak sub, but they KEEP putting it on mine, which has green peppers she doesn't like. I hate mustard and have to throw my sandwich away uneaten. Please write the order down and repeat it back to us so we know it will be made correctly. I love Joe's, but it's frequently out of my way, I have to remember to order food before the kitchen weirdly closes at 5, and the parking is non-existent. Please, for the love of steak subs, stop messing up our orders. There's no excuse for this to have happened more than once, let alone 4 or 5 times.

I like it there I get a sandwich almost every day. Today is 12/7/21 i got a sandwich there, roastbeef, maybe two weeks ago and there was almost no roast beef i was so disappointed. I still will go there,i just not get a sandwich. Well now it's May 16 2022, I couldn't take it anymore I've been going to Joe's to get sandwiches many of them. I do wish though when they make my sandwiches put meat and veggies in the whole roll not mostly in the middle. I will say lately it has been. So far one woman does it right. One more thing Joe's should make sandwiches on Sunday. That be great. It's now June 13/ 2022 2:22am. I still go to Joe's super variety a few times a week and yes they still make a good sandwich, well there is two things, put less mayonnaise on the chicken salad. And put meat and veggies on the whole sandwich not just the middle. It's still good sandwiches. They have so many more sandwiches, hot or cold.

I’ve lived in Portland area since 1996 and Joe’s has always been my go to spot. Everyone there is always nice to talk to, the food is great, and the prices are really good. The best neighborhood store in Portland! I’m moving away from Portland soon and I will really miss Joe’s.

I have gone here for about 20 years, and use to eat their sandwiches a lot. The staff works extremely hard from what I have seen. Love their fries! Not a lot of vegetarian choices or vegan choices, but that’s to be expected. Miss the old store because it was more country like & I’m from the country, so I liked that aspect about it. Glad they continue to service the area!

Came in early this morning for some post-shift treats, some cat litter and a breakfast sandwich. The person was friendly enough, but they were handling food with no mask and no latex gloves. I was very careful not to touch anything I didn’t intend to purchase and wore a mask. Things are tense enough, so I didn’t say anything at the time, but I am reluctant to eat any food this day and age not being handled with more care, so I ended up not eating it. Store was friendly and well lit, just needs better care to health and safety.

Modernized and well stocked/laid out. Food counter is a definite plus and great beer selection. Clearly still in the early stages of being 100% ready but didn't effect our visit much. Only problem was the clerk at the checkout was completely miserable and without any pleasantries. For a place that bangs on about adding a friendlier touch to convenience stores...this was not evident in my visit. Hopefully a one time thing.

Great quick service, good prepared food if you're there for that, and some of the friendliest cashiers this side of the Saco River. It's a convenience store, so you get what you're there for, and the prices are decent. 4/5 because I don't give perfect scores.

I just watched a young man get completely disrespected by a man who is working the cash register in the food section at the store. The young man was approached very disrespectfully three different times, finally the customer spoke up for himself and had had enough of the employees disrespectful demeanor. The customer voice his concerns and every single employee in that store ganged up on the customer and surrounded him like he was some type of criminal. I will never go back to that store again

My great uncle Joe opened this store up since before I was born. I'm always hearing good things from other family members about Joe's Smoke Shop. It's probably the best on-going business my family has ever had.The store's amazing. So, I would refer anyone to go there.

Every time I’ve been here, before and after the building and store remodel, it’s been a sparse selection with a lot of expired or close to expired food and drinks. Every time I took a chance going there I ended up with expired milk or something else. To the point where we only stopped in for cigarettes if we didn’t have time to stop anywhere else. Even then, the attitude of the person checking us out was extremely rude and unpleasant since the remodel. I’ve given up at this point, and go the extra mile to go anywhere but here.

I absolutely love Joes! There new store is clean and beautiful, and such a positive change over all. The employees have always been helpful and friendly. The shorter girl with glasses is espically always quick to welcome me and anyone else who enters the store while im there. Shes very quick to crack jokes amd ask how i am doing, which is a pleasure to see in today's age!

We often would stop by Joe's for a snack or a drink on the way home pre-pandemic. We stopped going to Joe's in April because neither employees nor customers were masked.We've tried to give them another try a couple of times these past two weeks, and each time we've seen multiple customers without masks on, and the employees don't say anything. It's a shame, because I'd really rather support small, local businesses than Walgreens or CVS when I want to pick up something quick. But, I really can't come back here. At this point in the course of COVID 19, it's really inexcusable and unhygienic that they're not mandating masks inside. Gross.

Joe's Super Variety never fails to offer quality food for affordable prices (which is now a rarity in Portland). I often swing through on my lunch break to grab a drink or a sandwich and I've never been disappointed. Great staff as well!

Looked like a nice clean store w a decent wine selection. Just what we were looking for before checking into The Press for our first visit to Portland.⚠️We were prepared to make a wine, beer and snacks purchase, but needed a restroom first due to our travel, however, "Im sorry, we don't" (have any restroom)...even for paying customers in an establishment that serves alcohol, food and other beverages 😒

They have great cooked food ithe hamburger baskets are really good they come with a soda would recommend buying from them if you want cooked food you don’t have to wait for delivery and the food is actually cooked my family has been going there for years

Ordered food from the kitchen early in morning, only 1 person working, he went to the register to ring a customer in than back to the food where he handled my bread and bacon with his disgusting bare hands. I had to walk after seeing that. This makes the second time I've seen unsanitary acts by workers their. Not recommended during these times of safety

It's a great store but it's a shame they're so rude there. I live upstairs and I would rather (and do) walk a block in a blizzard to 7/11 than deal with their unfriendly, miserable attitudes.
