It's not hidden or secret. I love the wharf area, tho, so I'll wander down there and check out the Harbor Fish Market. Detailed review will follow!

My wife, son, and I fell into here after getting off a cruise ship. All fish food was consumed. Wife ate the lobster roll, and I had the blackened fish sandwich. Awesome food, weather, and outdoor deck seating overlooking the water.

There is reason why locals only go to Harbor Fish. Best quality around! I am also writing this review because I just over-night shipped shucked Lobster to my Mom this week in Upstate Ny for her Birthday (2nd pic) it arrived in perfect condition and my Mother was beyond thrilled. Thanks for coming through Harbor Fish! Appreciate all you do!

Soft shell lobster was fresh and elicipus, it was already cooked, they can even heat it up for you with a 24 hour notice! They got any kind of seafood you can find, live lobsters, squid, crab!

Shopping this past Sunday, swordfish and a container of crab were purchased. Fish on the grill was wonderful, but I write because there was no leg meat in the crab container. A first and a disappointment for us. Did I grab from the wrong pile? Leg meat is the prize! Always 5 stars at HF though, no matter what.

Limited parking. Smells strong like a fish market. The tanks looked clean and the prices were great. I was kind of surprised that more than half the fish was not local. Like farm raised salmon. I get that it’s less expensive but I was looking at local food.

This is a great fish shop, right on the waterfront in Portland. The sister store in Scarborough is also great. Fresh lobster, clams and shellfish, and fish, plus helpful employees. I've bought lobster, scallops, steamers, salmon, tuna and haddock here --all great.There are also a small number of extremely valuable free parking spaces right in front of the store.

We grabbed a couple steamed lobster and some mussels and steamed clams . Had to buy an insulated bag as they didn't provide the little Styrofoam coolers. Super fresh and delicious

Happened to stop by after visiting Holy Donut. Bought two steamed lobsters and half pound smoked shrimps. Highly recommend steamed lobster if you like diy. 24 hours in advance reservation for hot and fresh out of steamer.

Won't find a better selection of fresh seafood in Maine. Quality is top notch. It's my top 3 seafood markets for the last 30 years.

It was my first time to buy live lobster and I had no idea how I could take the lobsters to home. My address is 3 hours away from Portland. The staff Ezra came to help me with the best customer service. He answered all questions that I had about the lobsters. Those questions are pretty silly. One of questions is if 4 lobsters is enough for myself to eat. Haha he said no no two is enough. He used a cooler to pack the lobsters with ice packs and see weeds. Yes the lobsters lived for another 12 hours! I strongly recommend this store to everyone who wants to get live lobsters and also wants the best customer service! I quickly liked the city Portland because of Harbor Fish Market! Thank you Ezra!

Always a great place and my only place to get my fresh fish/shellfish. On my last visit I got the sushi grade yellowfin tuna and dry boat scallops for making Maki sushi rolls. Everything is always the best quality! I highly recommend Harbor Fish Market!! With leftover tuna and scallops I just grilled up for a snack.

The selection and quality of the fish here is second to none. Razor clams, yes! Sablefish, yes! Oysters, yessss! Branzino, swordfish, tuna, salmon, monkfish, they've got you covered. So many choices! The staff are outstanding. If we lived closer, we would be weekly customers.

Kind of hidden if you don't know where you're going, but once you find it, it's wonderful. Fish mongers gave us (Midwesterners) great recommendations on what to get, best prep methods and things that go with it. Don't judge my cooking pics too much, we were camping!

Great place to buy fresh seafood. Crowded with plenty of locals, which is a good sign. When we came, the daily special was scallops for $15.99 a pound, which is way cheaper than what they typically go for, at least in Cambridge. We also got some sushi grade tuna and a 60g tray of uni for $9.99. The uni tasted buttery and fresh. The man behind the counter was also extremely helpful and steered us away from buying the overpriced lobster. They gave us a styrofoam box and ice for the trip back home, and everything was still cold hours later. Would make the trip to Portland just to come back here!
