This place was so cool! I'm not a busy city person at all, but it was kind of exciting coming in here and feeling like I was part of the city. It's so cool inside. It's very colorful and fun. I loved the hot cider. It was a nice change from coffee. This place has an upstairs to sit and enjoy your donuts. I bet it's a good place to people watch in the morning. My boyfriend and I did the 25 donuts for $30. It was a great little sampler and worth the money. The donuts are doughy and sweet and delicious, and the flavors are like POW!! I could see myself coming here weekly if I lived in Maine. The waitress from SoPo Seafood recommended this place, and I'm glad she did. It was pretty perfect because making the donuts small like this allows you to try multiple flavors before you get full. They're also really cute, which is a fun bonus. All the donuts we ordered were so good. I love the classic Boston creme and the Homer.

This was the first donut stop on my trip, and honestly, it was my favorite. The shop was nice and clean, and the guy behind the counter was very helpful. He explained how they do their donuts and gave some recommendations.We ended up going with the lemon that has raspberry in the center. They're made fresh and should be eaten immediately. I wish this was the last stop we went to because I would have just devoured the entire box right there. I ended up finishing the donuts about 2 days later. They're still good reheated but not near as good as when fresh.Parking: Street parking all over. There was construction when we went, so I'm not sure if there are spots out front.

I'm not usually one for hipster donut shops because I think they overcomplicate a food that is already perfect, but 88 does a great job. The mini donuts aren't cheap, but the dough is very good and the flavors are classy and not over the top. There's also a fair amount of seating both indoors and outdoors if you want to hang out with your donuts

They're fun small made fresh to order donuts. The donuts are about two bite size with some really great flavor. You'll likely get a bunch of different boxes so you can try a bunch of flavors. We had lemon, chocolate, Boston cream and fruity pebbles. All were good. All in all I'd say good. Nothing surprising but a good value. Reasonable price, short wait, parking wasn't too difficult for me.

I won’t lie, being from LA I’m always skeptical of places with flashy interiors that give off an influencer vibe because they seeming always have disappointing food. However, these donuts do not fall into that category. They come out piping hot with a crisp sugary exterior and a pillowy candy interior. I got the maple glaze and Boston cream. The glaze on top was exceptional — better than any glaze I’ve had in a while. These donuts are truly exceptional.

100% DELICIOUS!!! We had the fruity pebbles and the cookies and cream donuts. So the way they work is the small box (shown in pic) they can only make 2 of a kind and not a mixture of each one. The hot chocolate was a bit watered down but still good. The setup of the shop is cute.

We were delighted to discover this donut shop. We love the decor! The service was great and the donuts are even better. We don't get donut shop T-shirts very often, but we couldn't resist the one that they offer here, it's very clever. We will be back on our next visit to Portland.

We went here on vacation through a friend’s recommendation. Let me just say, it did not disappoint! Small warm donuts are the bees knees! Who knew?! Perfect for sharing and sampling! We ordered the 6 flavors and the lemon flair was our families favorite. They ALL were amazing through and it shows why they have won so many awards! Ok, so not only are the donuts amazing but the owners were a joy to chat with too and made the memory even better! It just so happened that as we walked in the owners did too. Their excitement around their business was contagious. And made us all beam, hearing them discuss their journey. They also gave us excellent tourist recommendations. A win win. Finally, the atmosphere is so perfect for a family! You can stand outside and watch the donuts be made through the huge glass windows. My girls loved it and us adults too. The inside is so bright and inviting, and CLEAN! I honestly think I could have eaten the donuts on the floor it was so clean! We found the interior so cute we took a bunch of pics to remember it. We ate our donuts on the charming outside patio tables and soaked in the charm of the city. It was a great morning and we highly recommend it to locals and those checking out the area. The hospitality itself will put you in a great mood!

10/10 absolute winning establishment right here. The service was top notch. The donuts are bite sized and cooked fresh - and served warm ! After doing a local “donut tour” across the few donut shops in town (stiff competition, as they are also really good !), this one reigns supreme in my humble opinion.

Stumbled upon this place on our way to a late lunch, and since they were closing soon, we decided to try. I was reluctant at first because I’m not a fan of cake donuts. However, after eating these (Oreo and 007 flavors), I realize that I’ve never had a fresh cake donut. Unlike the dense, chewy texture I’ve experienced with cake donuts, these were light with a crispy exterior. Amazing! Also, the icing and garnish were very flavorful. A must-try, especially if you’re in the mood for a non-ice cream (lots of ice cream shops around!) sweet treat.

Eighty 8 Donuts are frickin' SICK!! Seriously, they're super good. We tried the Maine Maple, Boston Cream, and Bamm Bamm. We thought we'd prefer the Bamm Bamm, white icing dusted with Fruity Pebbles, the most but the Maine Maple was the best of the batch. Very, very, tasty, tiny donuts. Latte was good as well. Lastly, the staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. Would definitely return.

Eighty 8 Donuts is such a unique place for your favorite breakfast treat. The decor is retro, service is great, and the bite sized donuts are delicious. Do yourself a favor and stop in next time your downtown. Fun fact- the boxes came with 6 donuts, but I needed to taste test prior to reviewing. 😋

The donuts are great but - you have to order a box of 6, and all six have to be the same flavor... plus if you don't understand their system - they will belittle you. Also they had just opened and the woman behind the counter "wasn't sure" if she could even make an order for me since they had some online orders come in. Don't recommend. Went elsewhere for my sweet tooth this morning - pointed to what I wanted and immediately got it with no attitude.

Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! Please don't hesitate to stop by the wonderful Eighty 8 donut shop. These are a must have in the Portland ME area. We had multiple flavors ranging from a simple cinnamon sugar to some of the "speciality bites" and they are all outstanding. The shop is super cute with a little nook upstairs to enjoy your sweet treats if you want to hang out for a minute. Plus, the people who work there are super kind and nice. Great people, making great donuts, bringing joy into the world.
