This was my first tattoo, and I couldn't have asked for a better artist than Ravi Chandra. From the consultation to the finished product, the entire experience was amazing.Consultation: Ravi really listened to what I wanted the tattoo to represent and helped me translate that into a beautiful design. It was even better than what I had envisioned!The Tattoo: The tattoo itself is incredible. The detail is fantastic, and it looks exactly like the design we discussed. But what truly surprised me was how enjoyable the actual tattooing process was. Ravi created a calm and meditative atmosphere, and the four hours flew by. It felt like a spiritual experience in itself.Highly Recommend: If you're looking for a talented artist who will create a meaningful tattoo in a positive and supportive environment, I highly recommend Ravi Chandra.

Dark Harbor Tattoo Society is the place to go for your tattoo work. First, the studio is open, clean, and inviting. I love the decor of the place. The staff were wonderful throughout my appointment. I saw Amanda for a pet portrait tattoo. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, helped with placement, and created a relaxing atmosphere. I actually took a brief nap during the session. I would say that is a compliment to the artist and atmosphere of the studio. The final tattoo was amazing!! I could not have asked for a better experience!! If you're considering a first tattoo or others, I would recommend checking out Dark Harbor - I will be back.

Steve is the best artist around. He is super professional and kind and both studios are incredibly clean and gorgeous. He has done 5 pieces for me now and every time I am more and more impressed. In addition to being such a talented person, him and his wife Jessie are huge into helping the community and hosting different fundraisers for varying causes. They both are truly generous people and have huge hearts. My husband and I got our tattoos done today for our anniversary. We looked around at many places a month ago until we landed on dark harbor. I contacted them and they reffered us to Eli. I emailed him, he got back to me in a very timely manner and he was happy to do the tattoo we wanted no hesitations. We wanted to make sure we had an artist who loved what they do. He was amazing! My husband has horrible anxiety and Eli made everything so comfortable with some conversation it made him forget about his anxiety and now he and I want more and plan to come back to see Eli! Decided to get my first tattoo with Ravi Chandra and it was the best decsision I made in 2024 so far. I admire his patience, creativy, and making my body art come to life. He worked with my timeline, stayed late and long hours to make it happen. He's my #1 recommendation if you are looking for geometric design and is truly an artist. Respect him as an artist and you'll get top tier work!Requested style: Took my love of art deco patterns and architecture and made it reality. Impressive linework and geometric shapes. Not everyone is expert at capturing this style.Cleanliness: Clean space. Thoguhtful roominess. And damn good green tea.

I got tattooed at this studio by Amanda and I have only great things to say about both her and the shop! The environment was super welcoming with lots of plants and cool artwork, there were some nice candy offerings at the reception desk, and the bathrooms were very clean. Amanda did a great job on my custom tattoo of an Indian paintbrush flower. She was patient with me as we worked to pick out the right size and placement, and throughout the tattooing process she checked in with me frequently to make sure I wasn't in too much pain. Overall a great experience, thanks Amanda and Dark Harbor!

Very rude, made me feel uncomfortable, felt like I was talked down to. It was my birthday and I was excited for a possibility to get something fun and tiny. "Walk-ins welcome sign" is a lie. Didn't have to make me feel icky on MY DAY. In the retrospect, looking at their instagram later, I was glad I didn't get tattooed there.

This was me getting my first tattoo, I found Dark Harbor on google and called and made an appointment. I met with the artist and he gave me a lot of advice and insight into the process of selecting a tattoo. Such as the real estate of your body, and sentimental meaning.After that appointment I met back with the artist two weeks later and I decided to get a rabbit tattoo on my left ankle. The tattooing process was simple easy and relatively painless. The artist and other staff were kind, answered all my questions. When I decide what tattoo I want to get next, I will definitely look to this place.

Easily the best shop to get the ink you're dreaming of. All of the artists are SO talented and fabulous to chill with. The facility is super comfortable AND spotless. The bonus is all of the rad decor to feast your eyes on while you're getting covered in your favorite artwork! I HIGHLY recommend calling for an appointment today. With multiple locations there is more opportunity to get your name in the books!

I love this place and think they are the best tattoo shop in the city of Portland, Maine. The owners are kind and incredibly talented. All the artists are incredibly talented. In fact, I had a friend try and get a job there for months, but they literally only take the best of the best. He got over it tho 😆I did see a couple posts on here from what seems to be a disgruntled employee… my heart goes out to the owners of this business, because disgruntled employees are absolutely the worst. My partner and I went in as walk ins on a random Saturday and it was super easy to schedule a time, everyone was incredibly friendly, and Nick did a fantastic job. By far the most professional shop I've been to both state side and over seas. The atmosphere is very welcoming to everyone! I just got the Phoenix tattoo done by Mateo and the Horus one retouched (it was done a while back by a different artist). Dark Harbor is clean, bright, and beautifully decorated. I love that they reply to an email appt request in a couple of business days or less AND they answer their phone. The front desk folks were really nice. Mateo really listened to what I wanted and nothing felt rushed about it. He was kind, down to earth, and does beautiful work. Pricrs were very fair. This is the only place and artist I'll be going for future tattoos. Mateo is a true artist who loves what he does and it shows. If you book your tattoo with him, you won't regret it!Service: Tattoos
