Really great captain and crew, and happy passengers on a calm sea, Sept 23. The vessel actually blew a hose in the engine room on the way back from Monhegan Island. Calls were made, a speedboat rushed a part out to us along with a ferry-line mechanic, and we got fixed up and were on our way. Great performance by captain and crew and ferryline. They sent another vessel out to tail us in.We returned to mainland to a cheering crowd on the dock who just happened to be having a celebratory memorial to one of the line's favorite captains who had served for years.Lobster for all, and donate to the scholarship fund for young mariners. The spirit of the company was out full force that day in every wayIt felt like being on a television show with several episodes. God Bless!

Crazy about a mile out about died. It only took about 45 minutes for them to get a mechanic out on board to repair it and we were back on our way. Apparently this only happens once every four decades or so? A crew was great. The trip was great. The adventure was great. I was grateful the boat didn't go down and I didn't have to swim.

In July I took a Puffin Trip. The crew was very informative and we saw plenty of wildlife: Puffins, Seals and Bald Eagles along with some others. I would recommend this trip for anyone wanting to see the puffins.

Well run operation. Taking the ferry is a great way and the only way for most of us to visit Monhegan. The ride is about an hour with inside and outside seating. The crew points out wildlife and points of interest.

Awesome, hardworking crew and ferry. Our boat ride back was thrilling for the first few minutes, with giant, crashing waves. Canโt wait to go back!!

Andy and crew at Monhegan Boat Line to Monhegan Island are awesome. Very smooth boat ride both ways, easy pick up and drop off, and bathrooms on board. It takes a little over an hour to get there, but it goes quick since you're going through the harbor and open water. Very possible to see sharks or whales, but ask Andy and his crew questions about the islands and stuff and they are happy to answer them.

This was a super cool tour. We got to see a ton of puffin on the tour as well as seals! Captain Phil was a great guide with a wonderful personality. He was a perfect choice for it and we learned and laughed a bunch! One of the other really cool things they did was actually pull up a few of the lobster traps that they do recreationally. This was a neat process and he went through lots of information about the lobster industry, lobstermen (and lobsterwomen), and the conservation efforts. If you ever get the opportunity you should do this tour with them!

We really enjoyed our boat tour. The staff was great in helping us to find parking in town. We went out for a puffin tour and although we didn't have much luck (end of season) we loved everything about the tour. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Amazing Tour! I highly recommend Mohegan Boat Line. My family were vacationing in Maine around Camden/Rockport area. All the cruises were booked around the area and we found availability on Mohegan Boat Line in Port Clyde. SO glad we did. It was about a 45 min drive for us. We booked a Puffins and Nature Cruise. We were one of the last boats of the season (Aug 21). Most of the wild life fly away/leave the area around the beginning of Aug so we were very lucky. We saw seals and several different birds including puffins and bald eagles. Capt Phil was our guide. He and Fred were great! He was super knowledgeable and had a lot of interesting facts about the area, wildlife, history, islands, lobstering and the boat we were on. They picked up lobster traps and showed/explained the difference of lobsters you keep vs. those that go back and how the traps work. Plus warns us when we might be splashed which my daughter LOVED (while others decided to move towards the back.) Wind breaker or jacket is advised since it gets super breezy and chilly as the boat is moving. You can also bring food on board which I recommend especially if you have kids. There is a bathroom on board so no worries there. Had the best day thanks to Captain Phil and Fred! Can't wait to come back next year to book another tour. Thank you!!

The place has been rebuilt. Itโs so beautiful inside and outside. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place had postcards and sweatshirts and more. It also has a very nice lounge upstairs with a place to paint. Very nice ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ

The true Maine experience - lobsters, seals, puffins, lighthouses... And how cool is it to get to ride on a former WW2 wooden transport ship? The crew was safety-conscious, knowledgeable and really, really fun. A great business run by a great family.

Monhegan Boat Line offers a very enjoyable trip to Monhegan Island. The crew was both entertaining and informative, pointing out seals, puffins, and lighthouses and even teaching us about lobstering. They run two round trips each day. One round trip ticket is under $40 per person. You should purchase your tickets in advance.

Everyone I speak to agree...it is an experience you won't forget...there were a few pushy, rude passengers but hey, those NYC folks think this is a subway ride. Once out of the harbor...the sea air tames the savage beast..no regrets.Everyone needs to visit Monhegan once though the islanders think differently...understandably.

Pet friendly. Staff has small town friendliness and helpfulness. Website is easy-to-navigate and book. I take an annual daytrip with my 2 dogs in the summer to Monhegan. The staff and fellow passengers love the dogs. The captain points out places of interest on the ride, and stops to show wildlife along the way. One time there was a sun fish out and he took 2 passes so both sides of the boat could see it.Another time they waited so a straggler didn't miss the ferry. On this recent trip there were a lot of swells after the storm on the previous day. The crew passed out Ginger candies to those who weren't feeling well, and apologized that they didn't have more! It's a lovely ride to the island and the day is the highlight of my summer. I cherish it.

These folks are the best! You know you're in for a great time when the journey is as fun as the destination. We especially appreciated the sneak through Wyethville and the pause to observe ocean sunfish on our most recent trip.

We had a fantastic day trip to Monhegan Island thanks to the ferry service from Monhegan Boat Line. They were very efficient in getting people on and off the ferryBoth the crew and the staff were friendly and helpful, and they pointed out items of interest along the trip. We'll definitely go back to Monhegan Island, and will take Monhegan Boat Line to get there.

Obviously, the Monhegan boat is the best way out to the island, which is well worth the trip. However, the trip alone is fantastic. You'll see all manner of seabirds and probably seals, and maybe the odd dolphin, perhaps even a whale. If you've a few hours you can't go wrong taking the boat out and back.

We took the round trip to Monhegan Island for a day trip. Monhegan is a beautiful island but definitely requires quite a bit of planning. There is only one public restroom on the island and few places to eat. If you're doing a day trip, it's tough to do many of the hikes in the time. Regardless, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend. The boat ride was about an hour andif you usually feel sea sick, I would recommend taking Dramamine. The staff were very friendly and the ride was nice otherwise. However, I think the price was too expensive, totaling about $45/person for a round trip.

What starts as a boat trip to Monhegan turns into a tour of local history and a guide to the wildlife all around. We saw harbor seals, grey seals, porpoises, and a minke whale. It was incredible.

Friendly staff at the ticket office and on the boat. You definitely have to go early if you want a parking space near the boat (for the 10:30 trip) and wait near where the ferry docks so you get a better chance to choose a highly prized seat.

Amazing day. Helpful, friendly, comfortable, and spectacular views. You may not have cell phone reception as you get close to Port Clyde, but they'll show you where to park and they'll print your tickets for you if you're there on time. We got to Monhegan about an hour and five minutes after leaving Port Clyde, and we got back to Port Clyde about an hour and twenty minutes after leaving Monhegan (the captain took the long route so we could take in some of those views).
