This store has completely fallen apart since being bought out by Danforth's. The meat and produce look awful. They are keeping products on the shelves far too long. The overall presentation and selection is not even close to a Hannaford store.I attempted to return a piece of meat that was completely rotten 2 days before expiration and I was treated like a thief at the "courtesy" counter. She was rude and condescending, and asked their meat guy to inspect it.This one incident is not why I am writing the review, it's everything. I find something out of date literally every single time I am in there shopping. I am going to report this to Hannaford corporate as well.

Went in to purchase a few items and tried to purchase a bottle of crown royal. They decided that they needed to check my wife's ID as well. When my wife said she did not have hers, they refused sale and wouldn't even check mine. They said that unless everyone has an ID, they can not provide a sale. My 8 year old daughter, who was with me, does not have an ID, therefore they can not allow sale. They skew the rules as they see fit. The person handling the liquor and providing the ID and payment is the one to be in question. When I got home, I called and spoke with the store manager and asked them if I wanted to purchase alcohol and I had my 17 year old son with me, could I do that. They said that he would need to provide an ID and that I would not be able to purchase because he is under age. Nowhere in Maine liquor laws does it state that all persons must provide ID. It does state that accompanying minors cannot handle or pay for the alcohol. I would seriously recommend going somewhere else to purchase any alcohol unless you are by yourself. That is the only way this store will sell any alcohol

Been shopping here for a while. The meat selection is wonderful. It is basically a privately owned Hannaford so the deals carry over. Just don't expect to use your My Hannaford Rewards here. I love this place and if you are in the area, it is worth a look. And if staying at the Skowhegan/Canaan KOA... This is very close by and you will find everything you need for food for your camping trip. And it's only 15 minutes or so away.

I have shopped Bud's my entire life. The staff and owners are all amazing and super friendly. You can tell instantly that they are happy to be at work. Produce and food is super fresh. Store has a great variety and prices are good as well.

Happy customer for many years under previous ownership, at age 70 tried to check out with my groceries including a bottle of wine. The cashier looked at my wife, asked for her ID, she didn’t have her purse and refused to sell me the wine. Seems to me they need to have a class in identifying Asian peoples ages rather than discriminating against them when they weren’t even the one purchasing the groceries. I’ll move on, not worth the effort.

This is my favorite grocery store. Parking is decent bathrooms clean. Deli well staffed and always friendly and work with the customer. Meats look fresh. Decent selections threw the store. Shelves are well stocked and personnel for the most part are extremely helpful. This place has the best salt and vinegar chicken in the state that I have found

Great part of the town, providing both a very good option for local shopping and place of employment for many. I have had few issues with quality of produce, set aside the avocados at times. The bigger "box" stores have lost my produce business altogether. My only complaint as of late is low or out of stocked items. The employees are friendly and helpful 98% of the time.

I was only going to give a 3 as its a small store with limited stock and prices are a bit high BUT i changed my mind when i saw that they informed their staff not to come in on Sunday as we were supposed to get a ice storm. They wanted the staff safe and any company that puts their workers before money deserves a 5. Ive already started to shop there more. Kudos to Buds!!!!

Prices are a bit high, however products are fresh and taste wonderful. Store is kept very clean and safe. Customer service is also good, however if you need help you have to go up front to the registers cause they usally from what I see stick around them. For instance when you go into Walmart they have people on the floor you can ask for help about a certain product, that doesn't seem to be the case here. Even though that being the case if you go up and ask for help you will indeed recieve it.

Have been shoping at Buds as long as i can remember. My parents always shoped there when i was just a kid, im now 66. Its a fixture of the community and has always been the best place to buy quality foods, beating out all its competitors. Best meats ,best produce, best deli,its the best. Cleanest, brightest store and the staff are always there to serve the customers with a smile. Thanks to Dean Homestead and his crew for keeping it local, and providing jobs to the local high school kids and everyone else that depends on Buds.

Awesome store in Pittsfield has a decent variety of things. I go here whenever I am in Pittsfield...also has some pretty amazing bear, dear and moose figurines for sale at reasonable prices. This place isn't as big as most Hannafords but does have a friendly family atmosphere.

The food is much fresher. Other places, example: Hamburg, kind of off taste to it, Bud's shop n save is always fresh. Gotta love the small chain stores, their food turnover is quicker, resulting in fresher food.

Bud's is a medium sized grocery store, with fresh, local produce, a butcher, a large dairy and frozen goods selection, various other home and lifestyle products, and even live lobsters. The employees are generally in their teens or elderly, and prove to be a helpful addition to the already brought atmosphere of this Shop n Save.

This Shop'n Save has very friendly staff and had everything I needed. I grew up when Shop'n Saves were big before Hannafords took over so it was a great experience shopping here it was like stepping back to when I was a kid..will do more shopping here!

I prefer Shop N Save over the Hannaford stores. I can still get groceries I normally get, not what Hannaford dictates will now be offered. Service is much better and the baggers actually know how to do it properly.

Overpriced and have the worst selection of food items and the biggest joke of a deli I've ever seen in a supermarket. Place is old and outdated. I highly recommend saving your money and shopping at Shaw's in Waterville.

I got the impression that although the store is billed as "Bud's Shop 'n Save", it has been acquired by Hannaford grocers. If so, I (as an outsider and tourist) see this as a good thing: Hannaford pretty much sets my standard for a first-rate grocery store.
