Delicious summer salad! My husband got the sampler which I ended up sampling everything and ordering 3 of the corn muffins to go because they are so delicious! Our toddler is a type 1 diabetic and they were incredibly accommodating by giving him smoked chicken and plain cucumbers to keep him happy :) so glad we stopped in and can’t wait to visit again! Inside was also beautiful and staff was incredibly kind!

Amazingly good! We had buffalo chicken dip for an appetizer and pulled chicken/pork over baked mac n cheese. Everything tasted better than I've ever had it anywhere else. We were extremely surprised because we had just stopped by, tired, not expecting anything special... service was 5 star and portions were great for the price. We'll be back!

The beef brisket smoked was delicious the other beef brisket on the 1/2 and 1/2 plate was not as tender or as flavorful. The plate had a delightful corn muffin and their house BBQ sauces where all very delicious. The waitresses were all extremely friendly and the service was great.

We take a road trip up at least once a year and always stop by for some BBQ. By far the best BBQ in Maine! Excellent food, excellent service and worth the drive from Bangor!

Serious barbecue, and great sides. Sliced brisket sandwich with jus was like a BBQ French dip. We ended up dipping everything in it!

Boys and I love to stop at Flatlanders every time we go to snowmobile camp. Great food and drink. Stop in if your heading through Patten, you'll be glad you did.

Wow, this was fantastic. The meat was juicy, the sauce had a tiny spice, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food came out fast! I'm not one to normally clean my plate but I did and not because of the portion size, because I just couldn't stop eating it. Reasonably priced and great atmosphere as well. There is no doubt that we will be returning!

My boyfriend and I are in Patten for the weekend and this restaurant was close by our camp site. We stopped in and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. High quality BBQ smoke house food for GREAT prices, and the staff was lovely and pleasant. Will definitely be back!

We are headed to dinner.... again... at one of our favorite places. We love their smoked meats and the portions are enough for us to have dinner at home the next night! Service is sometimes a bit slow but we are never in a hurry so no problem. The owners usually chat a bit with us while there and we get tips for smoking our own meat. We definitely enjoy it.

After driving the gravel park road through Baxter State Park we were hungry and this place turned out to be a true find. Friendly service, reasonable prices and excellent food. I had the pulled pork platter (I wanted the ribs but it was about 2 pm and they were already sold out) with cornbread, gram's cucumber salad and coleslaw. The meat was delicious, with just enough burnt ends to be interesting, very tasty sauce. The sides were fresh and worked well with the meal, and the cornbread is clearly homemade. Not too sweet, and has visible bits of corn. My friend had the brisket which was also good, and the available sauces were interesting and not from a bottle. Note - there isn't any indoor seating. This is a counter and some picnic tables. Truly a gem in a tiny town on a pretty road.

Wow!! Barbecue to tell stories about! Huge portions of incredibly delicious food for bargain prices. Staff and owner treated us like old friends. The house barbecue sauces must be tasted to be believed. Highly recommend.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Everyone who worked there was friendly and kind, the prices were fair, the portions were generous, the decor was charming, and the food was delicious. My wife and I went after climbing Mt. Katahdin and it was absolutely perfect. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Brisket wasn't great, tough and too many fatty pieces. Ribs and wings were good but a little salty. Decent sides and bar selection. Young server was nice and efficient.

We literally found this place randomly searching the internet for something else! Who knew such great BBQ could be found in a place some might designate 'The middle of nowhere'. Cozy and clean inside, with some picnic tables outside to take in the beautiful Maine summer weather. Drinks in Mason style mugs, engraved with their logo accompanied some of the best BBQ I've ever had! Get the sampler and you'll enjoy just about every meat they offer (all great) and practically every side. If you find yourself in Northern Maine and you're craving top notch BBQ, it's Flatlanders, or bust!

We attended a wedding reception at Flatlanders for the most wonderful dinner of smoked ribs and chicken. Unbelievably Wicked Good Maine Fare. One of the Best restrants evvaa. The service was Supaa. I was amazed on my first visit to Flatlanders today! The food was absolutely delicious and the waitress was pleasant and accommodating. The pulled pork was cooked to perfection; not too dry and not too fatty. I thought it far exceeded the Texas Roadhouse's pulled pork by a long shot. The fresh salad bar had everything on it that I enjoy on a salad; romaine, feta, peas, cranberries, bacon bits (actual meat), and numerous other options. My family said that the salad was too pretty to eat. It is hard to believe that such a restaurant exists in Patten, Maine. We definitely will be going back!

Awesome barbecue (pulled pork, chicken, and brisket), sides, and salads; friendly and informative staff, great indoor and outdoor seating setup all at a reasonable price. Highly recommend if you're anywhere in the Baxter area.

Brisket, Brisket and brisket. Very good. Some of the best BBQ I've had in Maine. We stopped on our way to BSP North Gate. Will definitely visit again.

We ordered the chips, salsa, and queso to start. It all comes from a can. Okay, I don't blame them. We ordered the pulled pork sandwiches with Mac and cheese, and a side of corn bread. Everything was either from a can, a jar, or store bought. No joke, even the pulled pork tastes like it came from Walmart or Hannaford. The coleslaw, corn bread, and Mac and cheese were definitely store bought. This place is a total rip off, and not home cooked food whatsoever. Avoid!

HEAD WAITRESS RUDE & TERRIBLE SERVICEOur family was driving through Patten and we decided to stop at flatlanders should be called flatliners. and that's when our horrible experience began. They are very rude to visitors and they are very rude to Veterans and they let people go in without mask They should be shutdown down and I had a terrible dining experience with my family. We went in with masks and there's a sign on the door if you do not have a mask you have to pay a dollar that's a lie because they let people in without mask but we had masks on and we were treated very rudely and we spent a lot of money. The food was good but I would never eat there again. If you drive through Patten and you're looking for a restaurant go to Debbie's but do not go to flatlanders. It is named flatliners appropriately for if they keep conducting business this way their business will flat line and it will lose customers and eventually shut down.
