Owls Head General Store is an old type country store. A country store with a little bit of everything from batteries, home decor, drinks, sweets, fudge, made to order sandwiches, etc. Rest room available with outdoor picnic tables with umbrellas. They're friendly and bring your food out when it's ready. The 7 layer burger appears to be the #1 item to try ... it's good and messy😅

Charming little place with fantastic breakfast in the most authentic peaceful environment surrounded by a lovely garden where local neighbors come by bike for good coffee.The store has every knick knack you might need, food, homegoods and even books.

Been wanting to check this place out for a while now, and it more than lived up to its stellar reputationYes, the 7 Napkin Burger was exactly as described: a glorious mess of perfection. That was the main reason for my visit, but the store also had just about anything else you could possibly need. It was a lot of fun talking to the clerk and looking around the store while the cooks worked their magicThis place is an 11 out of 10 awesome place, and I can’t wait to return for another burger the next time I’m in town!

I saw their signature seven napkin burger on tiktok and had to try it. We picked up a couple burgers after a hike so we were starving.Seven napkins is no joke. This burger has everything a good burger should have on it. A beautiful mess. We cannot wait to be in the area to try more of their food.

I got the famous 7 napkins burger and it was pretty good. A bit disappointed about the size but prob because my hope was way up when my family bragged about this place. I like how there are seats outside while you are waiting for your meals. I had a chance to try my wife’s Turkey Julia’s (a Reuben sandwich) and it was really really good so I will be getting that next time.

Nice little store, but the reason for the visit was to try the Seven Napkin Burger that I had read so much about. It was fantastic...easily one of the best burgers I have had. Very messy but very good. Grab a drink and sit out at one of the picnic tables. Will definitely be back!!

Truly a general store. Little items you forgot and need to tools. Fudge and local gift items. Bit their menu is great. I highly recommend the 7 napkin burger. The pizzas looked great. Stop in and you will be very pleased.

So so delicious! I got the Turkey Julia’s (a Reuben sandwich) and everyone at my table was jealous. :) The staff is super friendly and the little store is charming. One downside—we waited about half an hour for the food, as it was a beautiful day and several other families were ordering picnic lunches. Worth calling in your order ahead if you know what you want. We’ll definitely be back!

This place was AMAZING! The grilled cheese was so so so so so glad. We got cake also that was delicious. My boyfriend got the 7 napkin burger that had some of the best beef we've ever had. Inside was so so so cute and the employees were super duper nice!

With a modernized return to its roots as a general store, I was very pleased to see the Owls Head General Store open. I think the set up of of shelving displays (not really shelves) is not a good arrangement yet, but will evolve. It truly is a general store with a small but growing list of this and that. It also has a small but very thoughtful food menu with reasonable prices. Though I already had lunch I was ready for something sweet and they had an interesting selection of local fudge, so I got the pistachio. Not disappointed. It was not cheap, a bit over $4. But was not small, so my wife and I easily shared it. Rich and creamy, it was very filling. I look forward to stopping in more and more as they dial in their atmosphere and become what they’re going to become.

The general store is a small store, which has a little bit of everything along with some real nice local gifts and souvenirs all related to owl head area and light house. They have small selection soft drinks, wine and craft beers. The also have amazing food. One their signature items is what they called Maine’s Famous Seven Napkin Burger, which was amazing, juicy with a super tasty bun. Which really hit the spot. They store has a small selection of local fudge, cookies and other small tasty items. The store is small super clean, they have a small shady sitting area. You can also place your order and bring along for a picnic at the light house.

The rennovations were a success and the store looks great. Lots of neat and useful items plus a great menu and numerous gift items as well. Maya is doing a great job and it's really nice to see the community supporting her and the General Store.

Three of us stopped in for lunch, which was ok, not great. The "seven napkin" burgers were excellent, but that was about it. They came with a lousy bag of Lays potato chips, which for the price should have been upgraded to some of the good-looking local potato chips being sold in the store. For some reason, it also took quite awhile to get our burgers, even though we were the only people there at the time.

Great little spot to grab lunch and take it to the lighthouse beach! The seven napkin burger was delicious (and there were napkins to spare ), the haddock chowder was great, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. So glad we drove past and looked them up!

We stayed in Owl's Head for several days and just fell in love with Owls Head General Store. Great food and service. Throwback to a kinder, easier way of life. Rave reviews for the Seven Napkin Burger and the pizza!.

Great little general store with nice selection of goods. Great sandwiches. Our family all enjoyed everything they ordered from the 7 napkin burger to the BLT to the Turkey Julia. The outdoor seating was nice. They actually keep the tables clean, and it is shaded. Very friendly folks and quick service. Did not have the fudge, but it looked delicious. There is a lot to do around there as well from the Owl's Head Lighthouse to the free beach access. Loved it.

These might actually be the best burgers in the state! Make sure you get the 7-napkin burger. I think the simplicity is what makes them so good. Nothing fancy, just a big, juicy burger. Make sure you call ahead to order. There are a handful of picnic tables outside but these fill up fast on busy days. If they are full, walk down the hill about a ¼ mile and sit on the dock.

The best. Order ahead. Definitely check the deserts fridge and dinners to go. The cakes are always super rich, lovely. The take home meals are lights out. Last week I had the panko encrusted salmon with rice and veggies. A very large plate for a big dog!! Loved it. The baked Mac n cheese is so good, I can't tell you how good if my mother is visiting.

I'm still thinking about the Seven Napkin Burger. It's juicy and loosely formed. The fresh toppings are in perfect harmony with the patty and the sweet fluffy bun doesn't miss a step. Don't get me wrong, I love a good smash burger but it's a real treat to be served a thick and juicy burger.

Best burger in Maine? I'd say so! The 7 napkin burger is the standouts, but there were so many options. There is a bit of a wait to get your order though... but that's okay given the quality of the food.

Earlier, I wrote about how much I was looking forward to enjoying a 7 napkin burger after reading that the store was back in business. It was closed in the summer of 2019 which was the last time I was on the mid-coast. I have to say that the 7 napkin was better than I remembered and during the course of my one week stay I had a 7 napkin three times. Kudos to the new folks and thank you for keeping this great burger available. See you next summer.
