Dr. Neville at Kindred Spirits Vet is outstanding. I am in tears as I type this with how compassionate and caring she is. This week I called with an emergency with my bunny Griffin, and despite not being a patient, Dr. Neville squeezed me in to care for Griffin. Dr. Neville even drove back after hours to be with me at Griffins final moments.Kindred Spirits is affordable and they do not charge more, like other surrounding vets do. They are fair with pricing and their care is top notch. Every penny was worth it.I’m grateful beyond measure for her and all other staff at Kindred, there simply is no better Vetinary Clinic than Kindred in Orrington, ME. No words could thank the staff for their efforts and love they showered us with this week.

Dr. Barry and his staff are so knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. Often times they have to take their work home with them but as a pet owner I'm so thankful and they are worth every dollar. I have never met with unkind staff, never been met with anything less than exceptional treatment of my animal, and they have saved my animals life over and over for the last 5 years. I am so thankful for each and every one of them, including Dr. Hanks who has stepped in and cared for my other fur baby. My two cats are always in the best hands and I will recommend everyone and anyone to use their services, there's no one I would trust more.

Everytime I take Sunny to see you guys she gets nothing but THE BEST care! I first saw Dr. Hanks when I first brought Sunny there as she had a horrific eye injury that other vets wouldnt help with or they wanted to remove her eye but I was referred to Dr. Hanks because he had a special intrest and experience with eyes. He was able to miraculously do surgery to save her eye and she received amazing care since day one. Although we were sad that he has since retired we are very happy to know he passed on his knowledge to his staff and Sunny is in great hands for her care. If it wasnt for the excellent care from you all Sunny would only have 1 eye. I always highly recommend you guys to everyone I know. Thank you all very much for being so amazing!

I always feel that my dogs get the best care here. Dr. Barry is top notch and never seems in a rush, he is always there to listen to concerns and even gets on the ground with the dogs to make them comfortable. I am very thankful for all staff members for making us feel welcome.

I give this place a 10 out of 10! I have had many different house pets and farm animals for years. My best friend rooster, Ralph got bumblefoot and needed to be seen for an antibiotic and pain medication. Dr. Laura was one of the best that I've had an encounter with. Very caring, and thorough. Took her time to explain everything and actually showed interest in caring for my animal and not just the money. Such a great experience and I would definitely recommend them. They also got me in the same day that I called. The price was very reasonable also. All and all, a 10+ recommendation!!

Wonderful knowledgeable staff. They made our dogs feel at ease. We will definitely be back with our three Golden Retrievers, Ziva, Katie and Brooke.We couldn't go anywhere else. Our dogs wouldn't stand for that to happen. All smiles today.

We have been going to Kindred Spirits for about 10 years now and I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Hanks and his team. They have been with us through good and sad times. They are caring, professional, timely, and most of all they love our pets too. We have recently spent more time with Dr. Barry who is wonderful! Our first visit was this past Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023. The space is open and welcoming. Within this open area there is a gated space for those who need more quiet, but you're still part of the greater whole. The receptionists were efficient, the vet tech amazing and the doctor highly skilled and attentive. Great experience!!

Superb care for my mini poodle! When Dr Hanks first saw Larkin, he sat on the floor with her, and us, and played with her before he began to examine her. She needed hair removed from around her eyes that were causing conjunctivitis, and Dr. Hanks froze them off. Continued care in the time of Covid has been very gentle also. Dr Hanks took off his mask last week so that she knew him, after she went in without us. She looks so bright-eyed now! Love with the care means so much! We've had dogs for 57 years now, and he is the gentlest vet we have ever had.

Kindred Spirits goes above and beyond - I am so impressed with the kindness, professionalism and willingness to help from this wonderful veterinary clinic. Though good days and bad days with my sick little dog, Dr Barry has been there for us with knowledge and support. I could not ask for a better experience during this very difficult time with my terminally ill pup. Dr. Leighton and the staff are all wonderful. I have not met Dr Hanks but I hear wonderful things about him. Truly, they provide "veterinary care from the heart".

The receptionists are stellar!Adrienne is always so amazing with our pets (and people too!)Dr. Leighton took time with our kitten and made sure he felt comfortable (with treats, pets, and sweet talking :)The Kindred Spirit staff always makes sure our questions are answered~ appointments are never rushed.I had questions about our kitten's vaccinations and emailed Dr. Barry before our appointment.Dr. Barry, as always, got back to me quickly and thoroughly explained the vaccination protocol, which eased my mind!We love Kindred Spirits ~ it is like a little family. We always leave knowing our pets are receiving the best care!

I have been going to Kindred Spirits for many years now, having followed our vet, Karen there when she joined them. She left the area, but I'm happy with all of the vets and staff and although there are other good choices around also, our 2 dogs and 2 cats are comfortable here and always get great care. My oldest dog was diagnosed with cancer a couple of months ago and now has many more visits locally and down to Portland. I am so thankful for the excellent care and the genuine concern and support from all of the vets and the staff at Kindred. Moxie actually loves going to the vet, even when she has to have procedures or blood work done.

Once again - Dr. Ressler exceeds expectations. She was prompt and made certain she knew everything I was concerned about. She gave me options on how to get to the root of the issue with our dog and had a plan of action for each of the options. She spends just the right amount of time with the animals and it is clear that she connects with them.Super nice staff. Vets are knowledgeable and caring. We use Dr. Ressler. She is fabulous but I am certain all the vets there are caring. Easy to get an appointment, lots of parking. They are always on schedule and spend as much time as needed to understand what your pet needs. Cannot recommend enough!

Recently, our 12.5 pound Havanese experienced breathing and gastrointestinal problems that needed prompt attention. Despite it being a busy day, the office staff worked her into the schedule as did Dr. Haller. Everyone was exceptionally helpful, concerned, and skilled. Kindred Spirits staff and veterinarians have cared for our dogs for nearly 20 years, and care has always surpassed excellent.

I cannot speak highly enough of this clinic. They take the care of their patients seriously, and I have never once felt like they did less than their best with my dogs health. They have always worked hard to squeeze my dog in during emergencies/urgent situations, like when he had glaucoma, which turned out to be cause by a tumor, and then an extremely bad allergic reaction that had him losing all of his fur. We were in here almost every week over the summer, between the two issues. They helped work with us on trying the less expensive treatments first, where possible, as well.While I can understand some people's frustration at being told they are not taking new clients due to being short staffed for several months (one of the wonderful veterinarians left for family reasons), the reason they aren't taking new clients is because they dont want to neglect their current clients. To me, that's the sign of a vet that prioritizes the care of their current patients over making more money by acquiring new clients.Bottom line, I've been to multiple vets before, with other dogs, and none of them have been as compassionate, caring, and diligent as Kindred Spirits has been. When they are taking new patients again, I would highly recommend them. In the meantime, they do have other vets they recommend, for those who do not have a regular vet yet. All in all, Kindred gets 4 paws up, and 5 stars for their excellent care of their patients.

Dr. Hanks has been extremely kind and thorough with his care of Magi. My boy is 16 years old and had to have his first surgery - tooth removal.I was extremely nervous, due to his age. Dr. Hanks took the time to explain everything he is doing and speaks in a manner that is understandable and empathetic. He called multiple times, during the day, just to update me on how things were going. His entire staff is wonderful with both pets and owners.
