Very pleasant staff, and very helpful. We were able to use the room downstairs from check in for our Yankee Swap, which has a small kitchen that came in handy. Rooms are very clean with very comfortable beds, working TV,bath/shower, fridge, and microwave. Most of all, located right on the beach! Beautiful views, and it's soothing to hear the waves ( our room was right on the corner, closest to beach. Enjoyed the walk on the beach, even in the cloudy weather. I Highly recommend Edgewater Inn.

Stayed here 2 years ago, much better stay then than this time. Rooms have gone by the way side and need updates. Curtains were wrinkled and something nasty on one of them. The little "couch" just had a bed sheet thrown on it and looked like someone had just been on it. Something sticky on the desk. No room service accept for every 3 days. With the amount of money you spend that is unacceptable. Location is perfect and front desk staff have always been nice. Very disappointed. I will be finding another place next time I come to stay. And it won't be one of the 6 places these new owners have. Because I am sure they all are the same.Rooms: Very disappointed with the room this time. Dirty.

I cannot say enough things about how great our stay was here! The staff were amazing and willing to help with anything. We tried to extend our stay and they were willing to do a room change so we could do so; unfortunately, we could not cancel our other reservation. The staff took the time to talk to us every time they saw us and explained everything they could about the sights worth seeing. The room was perfect for the five of us; we booked the two bedroom apartment next to the office. The beach was a short walk through the parking lot and the boardwalk was far enough away not to hear the noise, but not far enough to be too much to walk to. The pool was heated to 80 degrees, which was a nice change from the cold ocean. This will definitely be our spot when we visit Old Orchard and we cannot wait to return!

Great pillows, nice mattress topper, clean rooms and a surprise jet tub! The pool is super warm and Dee (front desk) is lovely. Would definitely stay again, literal walk to the beach.

We came here for the first time not quite knowing what to expect of the hotel or area. It was everything we wanted. There were a few very minor things that they cleared up for us such as hair dryer not working, but we had to press a button and it worked fine. It was so nice having a heated outdoor pool to enjoy from 9-9. We were so close to the ocean we could easily access it whenever we wanted. We were a short walk from food and the arcade. Lots of closer food options too but we visited in the lower season so those places were closed. We were very satisfied and plan to come back to this hotel next year.Nearby activities: Palace Playland is a very fun arcade and has a carnival right on the ocean front. I also saw a nearby indoor mini golf place right near there also.Safety: Full enclosure around the pool.Walkability: 5 minute walk from arcade or pier. Lots of food options within walking distance or a short drive.

A well kept property with very friendly staff. Solar heated pool & direct beach access. I only gave 4 stars for room because as an older guest, I was uncomfortable with the lack of grab bars in the tub area. But I would definitely recommend the Edgewater.Nearby activities: Palace Playland & the Pier are walking distance. Plenty of food establishments in the area.

Lighting fixtures could be updatedWe had the room right at the top of the stairs and were worried how much foot traffic there would be, but we didn't hear much and it didn't bother us. Parking spaces were small, so SUVs should be parked closest to the beachPool was nice and seating was good. Beach was secluded in this area which was also great.Loved the vines and bushes that surrounded this hotel, giving it some feeling of privacy in a busy area

This place is a gem. My wife and I booked without knowing anything about the area or the Motel. The rates were good, so we thought we'd give it a try, without many expectations. What we experienced was nothing less than fantastic. This place has the charm of 1950's or 60's small town America with the modern conveniences of a large chain hotel. The room was very clean and attractive. We were greeted with smiles and very genuine hospitality. Pierre took time to stop and chat each time he saw us. He was having a particularly hard day after a windstorm damaged the Motel sign, but he still managed a warm smile and said, "I could have a negative attitude, but I don't like that negative karma." I wish more business owners understood this mentality. Thanks for making this stop a memorable one. We will definitely be back!! - Matt and Ashley

I don't typically leave hotel reviews as, well, there's not enough time for THAT! However, the staff here was extraordinary and the view just PERFECT, right on the beach. To top it off, a beautiful room and very reasonably priced.

What an exceptional motel!!! Super clean, comfy kitchenette room!!! Our stay was lovely! (mom & 3 teen girls) We went out of season but enjoyed every second there!!! We cooked dinner in the room (chicken rice soup on a rainy evening, another night fried pork chops and Spanish rice). We watched movies while eating popcorn, we made banana pudding. We went on sunset walks by the beach, flew kites, collected seashells. The girls enjoyed having their bikes and riding around town. So close to Portland, we got a lot of outside activities done the one week we stayed there. Looking forward to visit during the summer!

Room was clean, that's always a plus, and it had a cottage on the beach feeling to it which was nice. Could use some updating but it wasn't bad at all, it did have a small fridge and microwave. The beach is at the end of the parking lot. It was a BIG plus being able to go back and forth to the beach within a few steps. Kids had fun playing in the sand and flying kites. Staff was great. Over all would stay again.

We stayed in 19, a 1 bedroom with two beds and a futon bed in a separate room. There was burner top stove, mini fridge and a cute counter top with stools. There were dishes, pots ,pans, etc. Bathroom was nice. Everything had a cute beachy vibe. There is a small heated pool and the property is directly on the beach. There are TVs in both rooms.We loved it. It's a very short walk to the pier and compared to the looks of some of the other motels nearby I'd say this place is the best. Staff were friendly and offered anything you needed.I will definitely stay again 10/10 for me.

Great value! It will be hard to beat the price of this motel given the location. Beachfront and walking distance to the amusement park made a great family getaway. Nice rooftop sundeck, heated pool for the littles and cozy coastal themed rooms. Plan on bringing white noise machine or running ac to cancel outside noise. Parking spots are small, it was a tight squeeze for our Acadia.

My family loved our stay at the Edgewater. It didn’t have all the “fancy” things like I’m used to, but in this area, nothing does. What it does have, is one of the cleanest, family-friendly settings around and great staff. It also has a great heated pool outside. We grew fond of the pool after getting in the freezing beach water. Sean, the guy at the desk (maybe manager?) put my mind at ease from the beginning. Over the course of our stay, I’d stop into the lobby in the mornings and nights for a cup of tea. He usually stopped what he was doing to have a friendly chat about how my day was going. I’m not sure if we’ll ever make the long drive to Maine again, but if we do, there’s no place I’d rather stay.

David and Jayne were wonderful hosts and were always around to answer questions or provide recommendations. The room itself was well equipped with kitchen supplies and had a great view of the lake from the porch. The location made it easy to get to Acadia and the towns around the area. I would definitely stay with them again if/when I return to the area. Highly recommend!

We had wonderful time at OCB. We stayed in Edgewater from last three years. Staff is so polite especially Dee -front desk manager. She is really awesome, friendly and helpful.Hotel is right on the beach and very convenient especially with kids

I agree with what others wrote that the bed was fantastic. You are right on the beach. Beach was not crowded at all. Employees at front desk were very nice.Downside was: parking is very, very tight. Not much room to maneuver. The USB strip did not work. Spoke to main office who said it would be taken care of next morning. Never was. Tub drained very poorly. Pool did not look like the picture. Very murky we did not swim in it because we couldn't see the bottom.

Our favorite hotel. It's right on the beach and the rooms are brightly colored, cute and cozy! The beds are very comfortable, too, and the deck is a great spot to eat outside in the fresh air, and view the ocean, with family and friends. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly; and it's a short walk to Old Orchard Beach.

Could have been been amazing. We stayed overnight to celebrate my birthday. Originally booked an ocean side view room, but, we upgraded to a front facing suite. The suite was clean, cozy and exactly what I imagined a Maine beach vacation should be. It had a small kitchenette, fireplace, big airy windows and the bathroom had a Jacuzzi and a shower. We were on the second floor and had the best view of the ocean from the balcony.Why only 4 stars?No hot water, there was a plumbing issue. They quickly called in a plumber to fix it. But it was not resolved while we were there.Edit: I originally gave them a 3 star review because they only said sorry for our inconvience. The same day after a few quick emails they refunded us the cost for the room upgrades we purchased.

Visited The Edgewater from 3 to 12 October 17. I return to this hotel on the water very often for many years and have never been disappointed. My primary likes are the employees, so friendly and helpful, especially Shawn; and the cleanliness of the rooms thanks to a great housekeeping staff. This hotel is open year-round and what a place to be in the middle of winter and have the beach to yourself. Great coffee and conversation and if you visit thank Larry for his awesome flower arrangements you will find all around the property. And a personal Thanks to Pierre for working with me and finding a room for the entire visit. WC

Great place to stay. Close enough to walk to anywhere on the pier. The beach is easily accessed. Rooms are clean and recently updated. They are a bit small, but adequate since you're gonna be outside anyway. Highly recommend.
