This place is adorable and the most affordable I could find for the location. I believe I spoke with Eunice over the phone to make the payment and she checked my best friend and I in, she very sweet and kind hearted. The room smelled clean as soon as we walked in, and the beds are comfortable. Location is perfect, only a block from the water and maybe a 15 minute walk from the pier. If I come back to the area, I’ll be staying here again.

We've stayed here twice and had a very good experience both times. Management is super friendly and accommodating, and the location just can't be beat - you're 0.7 miles from the pier, close enough to walk but far removed from the noise, and your beach access is right across the street. The rooms are small but have everything you need; however, both times we had uncomfortable mattresses and / or pillows. They could really use updating. Otherwise you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal to stay right on the beach.

Nice little old school motel on the quiet side of Old Orchard Beach pier. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and owners are very friendly and accommodating. Stayed by myself and felt safe. They put out good coffee and coffee cakes for breakfast every morning and Eunice, rhe owner was a gem! The heated pool was nice also. Walk to the pier and downtown took 20 minutes either beach side or street side. Beach was hardly a block away. If you're looking for luxury, probably not your vibe, but I will definitely stay again!

The cottage we stayed in was #19 and I was very disappointed when we walked in the door. The paneling was pulling away from the wall in several spots, the toilet was loose in the bathroom, the room smelled very musty and the shower was an overlay that did not seem secured in place. There was no sink in the bathroom so we had to brush our teeth in the kitchenette. The bed was a full size and was definitely not comfortable. The location was good as it is about a half mile from the pier so was much quieter and less crowded. The lady at the front desk was super friendly and I am thinking now I should’ve gone in and talked to her about it for a refund but was afraid we wouldn’t be able to find another place to stay on such a short notice.

So we stayed in her cottages!!! The outside could use some new paint, but the insides are absolutely beautiful!!! I will never stay in a hotel ever again!!! We have been there 2 years in a row, and we will be back!!Walkability: You are about a half mile from the pier. But like a block from the ocean!!!Food & drinks: Go to the pier but don't go to the Irish pub, was not impressed with the pricing. But the taco place right around the corner is absolutely amazing!!

This motel is nothing short of amazing! Perfect location to hit the beach and only a short walk to downtown which is perfect if you like to go out at night! The pool is heated and SUPER CLEAN! you can tell it’s very well taken care of. The staff is absolutely top notch everyone is more than accommodating and so friendly. I’ve stayed here multiple times in different rooms and cabins and every time has been perfect. I will never stay anywhere else in Old Orchard Beach! The Crosswinds is where it’s at!!

We stayed there last week, the rooms are a decent size, very clean, and the staff and environment reminded me of being a part of a big family. They were all very friendly and helpful.We will definitely be back again.The bathroom was a little small but we can live with that.

Ok, first things first: this is NOT 5 stars accommodations, AND IT'S NOT MEANT TO BE. This is a nice little place, really really close to the beach and all the action of downtown Old Orchard, at a very reasonable price. Eunice will greet you with a smile and some wit that will make you feel right at home. Her staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are, yes, perhaps a little "quaint", but confortable, with your basic well maintained necessities: decent sized mini-fridge, microwave, fan (sorry, no air conditioning), and a nice smart TV that will let you log into your favorite streaming service. (But why? Beach! 😉) Eunice did warn us that the WiFi is a bit fickle due to the cement, but sitting outside, seems to work rather well.Basically, decently priced for what you get. Love it. 👍🏽Rooms: Some aspects of the rooms are in need of refreshments, but honestly, didn't bother me that much.Walkability: You cross the street, you walk a couple of steps more: beach time! Same for other stuff in downtown Old Orchard.

We had a room booked through booking.com and they screwed us over. When my wife called the owner gave us the apartment for the 2 days at a reasonable price. The hospitality of the entire staff was incredible. Extremely welcoming and personable. The place is quiet compared to Biarritz which we used to stay. The pool is clean and private with dry towels there at all times. Coffee available basically all day. We haven't had 1 issue here at all and we will definitely be coming back on our next visit. It is a mile from the pier which is tough with kids however it's worth it and the beach is right across the street only a 5 minute walk. Great job thank you for having us

A cozy little motel nestled right up the street from downtown Old Orchard. Our group of friends stayed here for a bachelorette party & it was the perfect location for us.The rooms were clean, had a decent sized fridge/freezer for left overs, the bathroom is small but was all that we needed. The pool was so refreshing but if you’re a beach person it’s right across the street ! I would definitely stay here again !

First hotel i have hated staying at oob! Stayed for one night and left! They took copies of all my information to keep (license, credit card info, and registration) Tried to bill me for more nights than planned, also tried to bill extra bc in their words kids are messy and to make sure everything is clean. These people are not kid friendly! Told me to calm my autistic daughter or to leave she was making too much noise. Went into our room without consenting with us for "service" but all of our belongings were flipped around and gone through! Told to put our hair up bc people like us ruin their pool.The beds are awful! Broke our backs. They painted over water leaks and molded areas. The mini fridge provided doesnt work.There are wasps in every trash barrel outside the doors and by the stairs. I do not recommend this place!

Very cute little place. The owner is amazing and a very sweet lady. Short walk to the beach. The rooms are a little dated, and ours had some trim coming off in the bathroom. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again though. I really enjoyed my 2 nights there.

Checked out after 1 night!!! When we closed up the cottage to go to bed the smell of mold was so strong that my friend was up sick all night. The shower curtain and corner of the shower had mold on it. The window fan was very dirty. We stayed only 1 night as my friend was so sick. They did refund us our money for both nights that we had paid for.

I love the Cross Winds!!!! I just visited for my first time this past weekend and will absolutely be back! Not only is the motel the IDEAL location, but the staff is amazing! The beach is right across the street and after you can rinse your toes and then get in the beautiful pool! The rooms are clean, the showers are hot, and the price is amazing! You will not be disappointed in your stay here!

Love love love💕 this place! Our family of eight goes here twice a year and we love it! The rooms🛋️🛏️,the free coffee ☕ every morning 🌅 and the heated pool🏊 ❤️ We just came back from Cross Winds a couple of days ago and had an amazing weekend! Across from the 🌊🐚 and within walking🚶‍♀️distance to the outlet stores🛍️, restaurant's🥠🍜🥞 and bar's🍻🍹. This place is amazing for families👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

The place is very clean and the landlord is a very sweet lady! The pool was also nice and very clean! Sadly, the mattress are very hard and uncomfortable. I traveled with my mother and we were first in room 10 (upstairs). Mom having issues with stairs, the landlord switched us to room 2(downstairs). The beds upstairs were bad but the ones downstairs were worst. One bed in room 2 was in an angle when laying on it and the other, we could feel the springs. We woke up hurting from everywhere. It hurt enough for us to leave, loosing one day that was already paid for (about 183$ US). Also, they don't have any air-conditioning. We were lucky that it wasn't very hot while our stay but it was very humid and no AC nor heating was a little uncomfortable. This also leads to us having to keep the windows opened hearing the motorcycles passing by at night and also the train that passes right behind the motel - very noisy.Will not stay again - there are many other options that seems a better choice.

My husband and I've stayed here several times throughout the last 12 years. It's very affordable, its walking distance to the ocean, LOVE the top floor rooms for a great evening view, its 15 minutes to walk to the amusement/pier, there's a little family owned store next door, there's grills there to cook your burgers and hotdogs.... I can go on and on. The outdoor pool and hot tub are ALWAYS a hit! There's only one downfall.... its not that bad but if I had to give one downfall would be the train runs near there so you can hear it. We are a family that love trains so my kids thought it was the coolest! WE'LL BE BACK THIS YEAR!!! :)

The room was very clean and orderly. Nice area, a train nearby, and walking traffic out front. Cute, and old fashioned. My only complaint is there is no designated drinking water in my room. Just a bathroom sink. Oh well. Nice place, really!

The room was awful. The freezer had never been defrosted and was so iced over, you couldn't use it. The dust around the lights was ridiculous. There was no coffee pot. There was soap from a previous guest in the shower. No shampoo or conditioner. The water regulation was awful. Only two options, Scortching hot or freezing cold.We were told it was beach front. You couldn't even see the beach from our room. No AC. Walking distance was about 15/20 minutes from the pier. The price is way to high for what you're getting!Needless to say, I would recommend this place to a homeless person.

This place is not what it's made out to be most of the staff are rude the rooms with carpeting the carpets are so old an dirty it turns your feet black there are no activities for adults or children when changing out rooms they never change the top bedding when asking for towels an or anything needed they are very rude it's not a very clean place an the people giving most of the reviews are people that she or her staff knows so don't be fooled I'd rather pay a Little more elsewhere an get clean rooms an linens when needed along with clean carpets there's plenty of nice places down the beach besides this place it's not made out what it's supposed to be
