If you’re staying in Ogunquit and looking to grab some groceries or items for a picnic, you must stop in to Village Food and Market!Village Food and Market is an upscale, small grocery store and deli. The amount of products they have in there is astounding. You wonder how they fit everything!Village Food has everything to stock the fridge, or the picnic basket. They have a solid selection of dry/shelf stable goods and snacks. The price on those items is marked up quite a bit, I’d suggest procuring those items elsewhere.They have an incredible wine and craft beer selection with some incredible wines and beers to choose from. A majority of folks stopping in were there to pickup a quality bottle of wine.They do have a deli counter with a solid selection of lunch meat, pasta salads, and more! We ordered some Mortadella to go into our picnic basket. I grabbed an Italian-meat charcuterie tray with prosciutto, capicola, and salami.I also grabbed some incredible “Port Wine” cheese spread. It was great paired with crostini.They have a great selection of pre-made, packaged items. I grabbed some olives and assorted cheese cubes to accompany the meats. The deli also has a nice selection of salads, dips, and the like. There is a plethora of brands I haven’t come across before. They truly try to stock the best artisanal brands and products.For those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth, they do have a small bakery case with assorted pastries, pies, cakes, and cookies. I wasn’t a big fan of their baked goods, I found they lacked flavor. They did look visually appealing.I would highly recommend this market and deli to locals and tourists alike. The product selection is very unique and the service is phenomenal. The quality of the product offered is worth the increase in price.I do recommend bringing your patience. The place tends to get very busy and it is tight in the store. Be prepared to let folks pass you frequently.I look forward to visiting again very soon!

One can find all sorts of local products in this store. Eggs, butter and milk from local farms can be purchased here. Just inside the entrance is a selection of items made in Maine. Quaint place, lots of charm. Convenient open hours. Parking is a challenge, however.

My first visit here and I was impressed. The staff are very friendly, quickly jumping to give advice, to find a product for you or to take your order. I was surprised by the extensive food menu when we decided to order fresh sandwiches. My pastrami panini was delicious, well stacked with meat, tasty cheese, still hot and well wrapped. I would certainly stop here again for the food and the service. Many thanks!

Wow what a yummy place to go for breakfast. It was cold outside and I served myself to a big bowl of corn chowder. They have hot and steamy lattes. You can pick up fresh pastries They have a huge display of cookies cupcakes and pies. If you’re hungry the deli has Homemade delicious food of every kind.

Quick and easy grocery store.Stocks the basic necessities. Fresh deli, bakery and sandwiches made to order. Great clam chowder too.Had a decent and delicious dinner for half the cost at most dine in restaurants. Plus it allowed me to eat dinner as a picnic on the beach.

Amazing food. We stopped in to get take-out for dinner. Up visiting family in the area and it was near our hotel so thought we would try it outSo amazing!!!!. Food was spectacular. So fresh and well seasoned. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We are looking forward to going back to get breakfast tomorrow. Plenty of vegetarian options too.

Great little place to get breakfast and lunch year round. Love the Portabella panini, veggie and cheese sub, and the arugula salad.Our office ordered cupcakes for the holidays as well and they were amazing. Cutest little characters and a heaping amount of frosting. Huge hit with the adults and the kids.

We had the Thanksgiving dinner delivered. It was well packaged and delivered on time. The food was absolutely delicious! The stuffing was incredible, the best I’ve had.Great job to all at the market.Hard work that was appreciated.

Great market with lots of variety. They have small grocery items, wine, prepared foods/meals, as well as butcher counter with a variety of options and a dessert bar with fresh cheese cake, cookies and a variety of other items.

Place is pricey, but, they are located in downtown Ogunquit, Maine.Facemasks required. Store is small so it would be difficult to socially avoid, err, distance.

Super cute market in the center of town! Freshly baked breads, cakes, muffins, pastries. Freshly made sandwiches, soups, salads. Fully prepared foods that all you have to do is take and reheat! All staff is welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I love coming here!

Excellent produce. We bought 4 different salads, home made humus and boursin cheese. Had a picnic near the beach and came back to purchase their delicious pastries. I usually do not like pastry, but theirs is not too sweet and oh so good. Super! Highly recommended!

Went in to buy a few items. Got in line to pay with one couple paying ahead of us. Turned my head for a moment and the next thing I know, the couple was leaving and a register closed sign was on the counter, and the girl had walked away. No words, nothing! I looked at the fellow behind me and said, “what just happened? So I see her down a ways at another area and excused myself several times trying to get her attention with no response…she just kept ignoring me and I knew she could hear me. Finally I yelled louder so pretty much the whole store could hear me at this point and she finally responded “well if you’re going to yell I’m not going to respond to you.” Moral of the story? They don’t need or want your business. Their noses are so far up you know where,…I put my things down and walked out. Went to the Cumby’s down the street where I was greeted by a cashier who was as pleasant as could be and appreciative of my business! Not to mention their prices were much better!Apparently I’m not the only one who has experienced the same. Read other reviews before me.

Surprisingly large inventory in a small space. They have an efficient deli counter, you order and wait outside for the food. My daughter thought her meatball sub was delicious, better than the food at the restaurant next door!

Regular sub rolls are soft, white bread, should have opted for the baguette. Not fun at all. Turkey avocado sub was sparsely filled wirh meat, would not try again.Ate here pre-covid and was much better. The reuben was crispy, grilled rye bread, tasty sandwich, only critique is the thousand island dressing was pretty sweet. Lots of choices at this deli including many dessert, breads, pies...

The food and coffee are good but some members of the staff (perhaps the manager?) are oddly and outwardly rude. At first I thought it might have been a bad day but then it happened again. I read through the reviews and can see that it’s a known issue. Very strange…. But if you don’t mind dealing with that the food is decent.

Stay away from this food mart. Prices are Ridiculous!!! The help is Rude as well.I was in Aruba recently and the prices were not as High as this place. Village Market was a wasted trip. I left and went to Hannaford.

The store is so quaint. Fresh fruits and veggies. Home cooked meals at great prices. Amazing variety of speciality items to create your own picnic for the beach. The squash salad with collards and cranberries is so good. The Deli is mouth watering. Freshly made pastries look so amazing. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Don’t forget to check it out it’s worth finding a parking spot to shop there. Plus they deliver for free online orders.

Should love this place but had two completely different experiences. First time in had great service and amazingly good coffee and food. Five stars! Second time in I felt rather like I was invisible. They need to accept the fact that in a tourist area you tend to get tourists. Money is money and when I spend mine I would rather spend in somewhere where they can be bothered to serve you. In a customer based service industry care more!!! Your product is good your service wasn’t.

Prices are high. Selection is what you'd expect for a small store. Staff was not polite, which is surprising for this town. No manners. No please. No thank you. I'd go to a supermarket next time, despite the drive.

The food is good, but way overpriced. The service is not great. There was a spill right in front of the cash, and the cashier just pretended not to see it. I finally asked for a mop to clean it up (even though I didn’t make the mess), and the guy behind the counter finally came out and cleaned it, but was very rude about it.

An employee who was assisting my cashier had an attitude from the start.This employee doesnt have any regard for customer service and the importance of the customers opinion. By giving the attitude she did to to me, i left feeling beelittled and stupid when I was only coming in for two quick things. Redeemingly, the young cashier taking care of me was very kind and embarrassed by the behavior of her colleague.

Nicely located central market with plenty of food, drink and souvenirs. The staff is friendly, but the organization in the store could use some adjusting. Finding the correct line to pay for things, as well as to pick up items presented a challenge and took much longer than it should have. Overall, very nice store and would definitely return.

The Village Food Mart is fabulous! They make all kinds of hot and cold foods to go.. Soups, clam chowder, chili, cooked chicken, pork chops, meat loaf, pasta dishes, salads, bakery desserts and groceries and wine, etc. I am going back tomorow to get a better look around and buy more good food!
