Do not go to this location. Made a reservation 4 months out with confirmation number and hold on credit card. They called me 2 months before my visit to tell me there is no room available. This location sells rooms out at higher price and cancels lower price reservations.

Off-season is the best time to visit ogunquit in our experience! None of the crowds, all of the charm. We had a lovely night at terrace by the sea, impeccable service, cute room with Ocean view, pristine and clean. As another reviewer noted, there are no grab bars in the bathtub. And I don't believe there was an elevator to get to the second floor in the main building, so you will have to navigate some stairs. Bright white mini blinds were on theme, but room darkening window treatments would be better (outdoor lighting was too bright in our room at night). So I would bring an eye mask in future. Overall though an excellent stay!Safety: Felt

We stayed 3 nights recently. Our room was in the main building just off the lobby. The room was clean and decorated shabby chic with old timey but rock-solid traditional furniture in need of refinishing. The bed was comfortable. The coffee in the room was the worst. While the room was not advertised as ocean view, if the rose of Sharon shrub was cut back and the windows cleaned, it would be ocean view. Breakfast included mini muffins, mixed fruit, English muffins, toast and bagels. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we found the rate to be reasonableAll in all a comfortable stay, and we would go back.

Did anyone else bring bedbugs home from this hotel? Our room was upstairs from the check-in desk. We were uneducated and trusting, so we didn't recognize the bug we saw crawling on our bed and the signs of blood spots on our sheets. Well, now that they took a ride home in our suitcases and reproduced in our home, we are well educated in what we saw in our room last July.

Perfect, ideal location for Ogunquit; on the water with chairs on the grass for relaxing, a stone's throw from the bridge to the beach and the Marginal Way, and an equally short walk up the street to all the shops and restaurants. When I booked the room was listed as obstructed view, but when we got our room it was a corner room with full view of the sea. We couldn't be more pleased. Quiet evenings with sounds of the sea for a wonderful night's sleep, super comfortable bed, and a delightful continental breakfast that we could enjoy on the covered, cozy porch. Highly recommend Terrace by the Sea!Rooms: Super comfortable bed, bright white linens, sparkling clean bathroom, view of the sea, quiet night's sleep, just wonderful!Safety: Felt perfectly safe here, no issues whatsoever.Walkability: Easy, short walk to the bridge to the beach, Marginal Way, and the shops. Perfect location!Noteworthy details: Very clean porches and all areas of this expansive property, with beautiful flowers and shrubs blooming and well maintained.

Super cute hotel within walking distance to Ogunquit Beach. Our room had a queen bed (that felt more like full size) and a twin bed. It also had a small kitchenette. The bathroom was a little small but overall great stay. Breakfast is pretty basic with only bagels, toast, cereal and a good assortment of fruit. It also had juice/coffee/tea. There was no breakfast meats. Definitely will stay here again based on the location.

HORRIBLE !! We had stayed here in 2021 after a wedding and really liked it. We then booked this place again for our stay on a road trip. We did not realize that pets were not welcome ( our fault). Once we realized we called to discuss 2 days ahead and 1 day ahead. Both times we explained the situation and neither time were they willing to refund any amount of money and would not even give us a credit to return another time without our dogs. I would never stay here again!

The front desk that received us as we checked in was the most friendly, patient and informative staff among the few other hotels we stay during our one week fall foilege vacation. Parking is tight in the town where the lodge is located. However, we managed to park at our own spot a bit prior check in time. Basic standard room but good size. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast comes with reasonable varieties (example fresh mixed fruits) compared to other accommodations. Overlook the ocean is slight disappointment from my expectation as the elevation of the lodge is not high enough to have an open eye view. You can easily walk around town and to the beach. Pleasant location to stay. I am sure with ocean view will be nice.

Gave five stars but since they seem to have abandoned their “no children” policy, it’s not been as enjoyable. Many parents could care less that their children are disturbing everyone. They commandeer the pool with their shouting brats. Then the infestation of children spreads to the front lawn. Never a moment of peace. They take over the porch, running around, shouting, screaming, & speaking loudly. Parents do nothing. It was so nice when this place was child-free. We’ve been coming reliably *for years* but are considering other options. On the plus side, management keep it very clean and the grounds always look fantastic. Not the best beds but they are sufficient. They work hard to be good hosts and the staff is delightful.Truth is it is a wonderful place to stay with a fantastic owner.

Stayed for 1 night. Convenience in location. Beds were too soft --felt like a very deflated air mattress - you sit on one end of the bed, the other end pops up; you'll wake up to back pain. Bathroom floors were sticky on barefoot (and it's not due to humidity). Went out to watch the sunrise and get breakfast at the market on Shore Rd. Best feature of this place is the 5 min walk to the beach. Left our uneaten breakfast and coffee in our room and went for a brief walk to the beach at 9am. Returned to our room at 9:45am to a housekeeper cleaning out our room, breakfast and coffee in the trash, or belongings at the door. We know checkout time is 11am, so why in the world would they clean out our room when our belongings were still there, as though we checked out already?! House keeper was unapologetic and acted as though we were trespassing in our own room.Fortunately, management was apologetic and willing to identify a way to amend the issue for us, crediting the cost of our lost breakfast and coffee. Thank you Rebecca. Other travelers just be aware that room occupants over 2 individuals will be charged an extra fee (even though the rooms are set up with double beds). So we were charged extra upon checkout and it felt like it was a "sorry, not sorry". The house keeping service definitely needs to be trained and retrained. As we took our bags to the car, we overheard another group yelling at a different housekeeper for the same reasons as us -- they didn't check out yet, but came back to someone cleaning out their room and belongings as well.

We had a small, but charming room. Everything was so clean and welcoming, from the lobby to the immaculate lawn area, the breakfast room and our hotel room. The staff is amazing! They made us feel like family. A special shout out to Cleo and Rick! There was another young man who worked the desk in the evenings. I didn't get his name, but he was so helpful, as well. What a fun group of people! Everyone was so welcoming and kind. We can't wait to go back. We'd even stay in the "Harry Potter" room ( as we dubbed it) again. It was a sweet little room with perfect access to everything!

You won’t be disappointed. The price is right, the rooms, although a bit dated are impeccably clean. Couldn’t get over how clean. That was a huge plus for us. The grounds are perfect and have a wonderful view of ogunquit beach. Their landscaping is lovely and I especially loved the line of flowers leading to the entrance. The staff was so pleasant and very accommodating. Our room had a loft which was great for my son and his fiancé and my husband and I had a comfy queen bed and my daughter had one as well. Perfect little family suite! So close to everything! Perfect location and the breakfast, while not fantastic in choices, had plenty. Fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, toast coffee and juices. Cereal and yogurt. Enough to start your day and all served on a lovely porch overlooking the ocean. We will consider this place again because the location is perfect and again CLEAN! We were there on the 1st of June 2022

We booked this place based on the good reviews it had received. Well, here's another one. If you want the quaint Maine experience without breaking the bank, this is it!The rooms aren't fancy, just very cool down to the smallest detail. Bed super comfy. And the view! Incredible! Breakfast was included, homemade muffins and fresh fruit and great coffee! And a fantastic staff! What a gem!

This was my first visit to this beautiful Inn and my only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Our room (114) had a large, enclosed porch that faced the ocean and I could hear that soothing sound all day! The service was amazing, and the staff was so sweet and friendly. Our room was lovely and clean, and the bathroom was large and comfortable. The INN is within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, the beach, and anything you could want in the beautiful town of Ogunquit! Unfortunately, we had to cut our visit short due to a personal matter, but I hope to be back someday to visit again!

This was our first stay and our room was clean and the staff is very friendly. Loved the chairs on the lawn overlooking the water. Breakfast was an added bonus. Hotel is in a great location so most everything was walkable, as parking is impossible. We rode the trolley to see what's in town ( $5 per person per ride *cash only*) . The Village Market is a 5 minute walk for a late coffee or dessert. Great get away!

We had a very good time here. The room was very well taken care of and didn't have any major flaws. The only issue we had was that the shower spilled water outside, to the bathroom floor if we didn't pay attention to the curtain. Other than this minor issue, a very cozy place to spend a weekend with your loved one.P.s. in front of our door, there was this pretty maple tree that was very yellowish and was gorgeous!

Perfect location! Short walk on path to the beach and close to local shops and restaurants. Gorgeous landscaping, you can tell the property is well maintained. Pool is small but heated and clean. They were very accommodating and allowed us to park on the property early while we waited for our room to be ready so we were able to access the beach and pool. Check in was quick and easy and our room was beautiful and clean. The views are priceless as well.

This was such a great find! We stayed in the room with the fireplace and the private porch. It was totally worth the extra money. The views were gorgeous at both sunrise and sunset. Great location for exploring on foot. Breakfast was simple but nice. We would definitely stay here again.

This place looks lovely and we would have liked to stay there. I called inquiring about reservations for July or August 2023. I was told that they would take my information and the manager would call in Feb or March of 2023 to let me know "if we were selected to stay". They give rooms to their loyal customers first. I understand giving regular visitors right of first refusal but 6 months to know if you have accommodations seems excessive, even for Ogunquit. And in today's world my information would be written down somewhere and maybe I would get a phone call in 6 months. I guess they don't need the business but wow. . . .

Pickings were slim when we reserved so we were in the courtyard motel and another room in the main building, oddly right off the front desk lobby. This made parking inconvenient between parties. We made the best with one night. The rooms were very clean. Fridge, microwave, safe. The inclusive breakfast and lawn area are splendid. The pool, very nice but in the shade. They don't have any concession or dining except breakfast, just a vending machine. If you need a beverage you will have to wait until breakfast or bring loose dollars/ coins. The breakfast is amazing. Please tip those hard-working girls well. You can pick up take out and eat on terrrace. The walk to the beach is arduous. The gardens are gorgeously sculpted and magnificent. Ogunquit common is a short walk up the road with all its shops and bars. We would choose here again with a longer stay.

Excellent location. Clean, unremarkable, completely satisfactory rooms; ours with a tiny kitchenette. Ocean view is perfect. Walk to beach, restaurants, town center. Helpful staff got us two rooms for three day with one day notification, based on cancellations.

The excellent location does not make up for the worst customer service I’ve ever had and we travel as a family all the time!!! We booked a 3 night stay in a deluxe family ocean view room. It was more expensive but it was our anniversary and we didn’t get away as much this year with Covid. I was called the day before we were supposed to check in and was told they didn’t have what we booked available!!!!!! We still were able to go but in lower end rooms and we had to move rooms as they didn’t have a room available for all three nights!! I was told they would comp my first night which I accepted. When we arrived at check in the manager Tanesha explained they could not give me any refund as I was promised over the phone as I booked through booking.com. She said she would give us a gift certificate for one night free to use anytime in the future. She said when we checked out it would be ready and waiting for me. When I checked out Tanesha was nowhere to be found and the girl at the front desk told me, “sorry, I wasn’t here Friday and there’s no notes here.” So we left with no gift certificate and a big bill for a stay that was not what I paid for! I’ve never experienced such incompetence ever and the rudest staff who care less if they ruined your entire stay. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

The reviews for this place really strike me weirdly because of how different my family's experience was. For us the staff wasn't necessarily unfriendly but also not at all welcoming, looked at us like we were freaks for requesting more coffee, and overall gave the impression that everytime we were within eyesight they couldn't wait for us to leave. The wifi cuts out so often you're better off just not bothering with it. Also my mom paid for 3 people to stay here but the room only had enough mugs, towels, etc. for 2 people, which wouldn't be a big deal if the staff didn't make you feel like an annoying bug for asking for more. Outside of that they're close to the beach and Perkins cove, and the beds are comfy, but we could have gotten that down the street and had more helpful people around and probably better wifi. I don't know if it's because we came during off season or what. The location is great but there are many inns and hotels you can find nearby, personally I wouldn't recommend this one.

Very nice people. Rooms were a bit pricey for what appeared to be a converted garage. But the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was better than I've had at other places. My first time there but it appears by overhearing conversations of others that they were repeat customers. Views from the lawn were supposed to get great, but the fog ruined that. But not their fault. Would stay there again.
