My Mom and I had an amazing dinner here on Tuesday night. We got there around 5:45 and the place was already hopping! We had a short wait to get a table so we decided to have a drink at the bar. The atmosphere over there was so great, the bartender so friendly and so nice and quiet that we decided to eat our dinner at the bar. I started with steamers, my Mom had wings, both were excellent. I had the lobster which was perfectly cooked, the side dish of coleslaw was slightly sweet and delicious. Mom had the stuffed butterflied shrimp, she loved it. The staff was very friendly, the bathrooms are clean and there’s plenty of parking in this large facility. Go very early or late, the in between hours are so busy but worthwhile.Parking: Lots of free parking on site.Wheelchair accessibility: This property and the restrooms are accessible.

Nice place if you have a taste for seafood and are feeling nostalgic. My boyfriend’s parents took me out to eat here. I had the backed haddock with homemade beans. The food was decent, the service was excellent but the prices were about 25-35% higher then they should be given the quality, atmosphere, presentation and quantity. The place looks the same as when I was a kid and probably hasn’t been updated since my parents were kids ha ha.

Great restaurant that specializes in Maine lobster. The large, open dining room in comfortable and has mostly 4-person tables and some 8-person tables. Due to the open floorplan, it can get a little loud. They currently open at 4:30PM each day and, even though they have a lot if seats, it fills up quickly. There was a wait by 5:30PM on a Wednesday night in mid-August.You get to choose which lobster you want from their large live-tank.The staff is friendly and attentive.

The BEST lobsters I've ever had in my life! It's a must-visit place! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is absolutely out-of-this-world delicious! I've always thought that Maine lobsters tasted better, but the Lobster pound has a special way of cooking it too. They cook them outside in those huge pots filled with the sea water. They have lines running down to the ocean to pump up the water. Also, try raspberry margaritas, they are delicious! They have the most beautiful lot and they have lots of seating outside.

The best clam chowder in Maine🏆 Thick, creamy, and full of salty pieces of clam. I have been trying different chowders around the area, and this one is still the top. Fresh pick-your-own-lobster served hot and cracked at the table. The Lobster Pie is also incredibly delicious! For drinks, the Blueberry Lemonade and Raspberry Martini are both excellent. High % and very delicious.Overall a go-to spot in Maine for lobster and chowder.

This place sits right on the water (estuary) at Oginquit Beach. Great views of the estuary and we had a great sunset. The food was delicious, the decor is very modern and the service was excellent.

This place is famous for a very good reason. The food was amazing and very very fresh. Service was friendly too. Absolutely recommend not missing out on checking this place! Try the steamed lobster (which you can choose from the tank outside), the lobster roll and the clam chowder - and you won’t regret it!

This is a great example of when good people make a difference. We were seated on a very busy night at the Lobster Pound and seemed to have been ignored by 3 waitresses. After waiting 10 minutes before even being acknowledged someone finally stepped up! Thanks, Carrie! You made all the difference in what could have been a 2-star rating. The lobster roll was delicious. Went for the butter vs. Mayo. Amazing choice!

Located in Oqunquit, Maine this is a 3 Generation family own restaurant. When you first walk up you will see the tank full of lobsters behind it is the steamers. You walk in and greeted by hostess she get someone to seat you and you will be amazed as the place looks like a log cabin. I'm sure in the winter they must have the fireplace going. The menu is almost all about lobster. I had lobster Alfred. It was so good but I couldn't eat it all. The next day it was that much better. I will have to say everyone was very friendly and nice and willing to help if I had a question or needed something. We had some drinks and enjoyed our dinner. I would definitely be interested in going back to eat. I can't wait for next year.

We decided to stop in Ogunquit on our way back home from a road trip to check out the town and to have dinner. PROS: Very busy, but did get seating almost right away, waitress was nice, clam chowder was good and the mixed drink was good.....but entree wise, maybe we should have just stuck to the steamed lobster! CONS: ordered a cheeseburger (for my 11 year old) asked for medium and that came out cooked well done. Another entree was baked Haddock with a Ritz Cracker topping, the topping was soggy...no crunchiness to it and it made bites with it have a sweet flavor (I know, this would be personal preference). I ordered the lobster roll (which I've ordered damn near everyday...in Provincetown MA, Bar Harbor ME and now Ogunquit). I like the classic style, but this was caked with mayo. You didn't taste any celery, or much of the lobster, all you tasted was mayo. The outside of the roll itself was very crunchy, while the inside was very soggy because of all the mayo. The sides it came with was coleslaw (good) and potato chips. Unfortunately for $38, I got a mayo roll, coleslaw and bagged chips.

The food was spectacular, the way they cut the lobster makes getting the meat out easy. The swordfish and seafood scampi were on point. The kids meals were pretty reasonably priced also don't forget the desert!

We make an annual visit to the lobster pound. We always enjoy the meal and am impressed by the volume of people they can handle. We love picking our lobster out of the tank. I compare all lobster restaurants to the Ogunquit Lobster pound and few around New England even compare! $19.95/lbs July 2017

We happened upon this gem purely by happenstance after staying within walking distance and having it recommend by the owner of our hotel.Prior to going I had read the negative reviews as I often focus on.Our first observation was that the parking lot was full on a Monday night off-season.I had noted that a couple of reviewers had suggested that the lobster bisque was bland and that was where we started our meal. The bisque was delightful.I had the lobster pie and the entire meal was very good. Other reviewers had noted that the vegetables were almost raw and over spiced. They weren’t heavily cooked but the way people actually service fresh vegetables nowadays and definitely not over spiced.Being an old fashioned clean your plate kind of guy I had no problem finishing the task and my barometer for exceptional food is the mashed potatoes. They were great and I could have finished a double helping. It’s hard to question whether the reviews from last year may have been due to different ownership but judging from the big crowd I would doubt there ever was a change in ownership or management style.I’ll add a picture of my check for reference. We are planning to come back tomorrow so I can try the non-seafood meatloaf dinner.Parking: Due to the heavy recent rains the entry walk from the front lot was flooded.Park out band enter from the rear.

This is by far one of my favorite places that I have ever visited. My family and I used to visit here every year when I was a child and when I returned it was just as good as I remembered. It is a large space with the freshest lobster and clams. Everything was cooked to perfect and the staff was exceptionally friendly. If you are in the area and looking for a great lobster dinner, this has to be your stop. Pick your own lobster and enjoy!

Food was delicious!!! I had the scallops with mashed potatoes and veggie of the day which was a medley (fresh green beans w/ zucchini). The scallops were large and I was given a lot of them. I think this dish was $26. For the amount of scallops you get it was so worth it! In my picture I had already eaten some of everything so it really doesn't show all that was served. Whole family loved it. Waitress Mackenzie was great, very friendly and great personality. Only negative was when we were waiting for our name to be called in, they called 2-3 groups of other people that arrived after us. The girl at the door admitted she accidentally skipped over us, but did apologize. The place is busy at dinner time, expect to wait around 30 minutes before you get seated. We waited 40 to 45 minutes because we were skipped over. Still highly recommended though very friendly and awesome food.

I hadn’t been to Maine in 25 years. Walking back into this place brought me back. They have preserved the timeless and classic set up, keeping the quality of food and service at the top.Lobster bisque was incredibly creamy and flavorful. Lobster and lobster roll as well as sides were perfect. You cannot compete with the olp. No where is better

This place is good if you are going for lobster and that’s it. The burgers taste like frozen meat and burnt at the same time. They also do not have fries they have potato chips which do not taste house-made they taste like ruffles. Staff is nice though. So in conclusion only go there is you are planing on getting lobster.

First time came here and it was one of the best lobster place I've been to. If you want fresh lobster and steamer this is the place to go. You get to pick your lobster, they will clean and steam for you and you dip it in the melted butter, your mouth is in heaven!!! I love this place and will go back again. The staffs are super friendly too! The place can get really busy though.

We come here every year as part of our Maine vacation and it's getting boring...perfect lobsters at a fair price over and over and over again. I call it monotonous, my wife calls it " Lobster Heaven".
