This place was amazing even though the weather wasn't. The service was amazing, very friendly and personable. The food was omg, from the Ogunquit fries with honey and black salt, to the smashed burger with lobster mac n cheese on it, and the chicken and waffle cones. I still can taste all of that in my mouth, oh wait I will go snack on my leftovers.

Great reviews and the rustic patio setting capture our attention of “Food for Thought”. Our experience for dinner was subpar, however . While the patio is very welcoming, the seating is really uncomfortable. The service was fine, but our mains meals were quite bland. I had the Nashville Chicken Sammie (Honey Fried Chicken sandwich); it had a good portion of white meat, but the mix of honey/spice did not work for me. As for My partner’s Ribeye burger, it was okay. The charred bacon jam and aged cheddar did not taste much. This is obviously our appreciation; the crowd around looked happy with their experience . For us, it was underwhelming.

My friends and I decided to go to Food for Thought since it it was drizzling and the restaurant has a big sign outside that says “happy hour when it’s raining.” We double checked with the wait staff that although it wasn’t raining hard, it still counted as happy hour. My friends decided to order 2 drinks each at the happy hour price of $6. As we received our meals, two friends decided to order one more drink. The waitress then informed them it was no longer happy hour, despite it still raining even harder than when we got there. That was fine and they still decided to order a drink at the full price ($15). When we got our check, the drinks were all charged at full price except for the first round of drinks. Instead of $6, the drinks were charged as $15. When we inquired, the waitress said that happy hour only covered one round of drinks. This was very frustrating as we weren’t informed up front and we ended up spending a lot more than anticipated when the waitress knew we were under the impression that it was happy hour as we’d mentioned it several times and the sign clearly stated “happy hour when it rains.”. That being said, the food was delicious and we enjoyed talking to the owner for a little while. We would’ve had a great experience had there not been the miscommunication about the billing or just some willingness to drop the prices of the second round back to happy hour when we expressed our frustration.

It’s a cool place.. outdoorsy, limited seating and prepared by a Celeb Chef. All that bothered me was super limited non-meat options. I could just order these corn and fries which were non-meat. Rest of all the options can not be made without meat. So that was something I was a little disappointed about. The drinks are okayish. But the seating, ambience wise was the deal here. It’s small and cozy!

We stopped here hangry while camping/shopping in the area. Best vibe. Casual outside dining. Our server was relatively new and was so sweet and attentive. Drinks were perfection! And the food! Everyone was so pleased. From the street corn to the seafood fried rice, to the smash burger. Everything was so tasty and service was prompt. Will be a new go to when in the area! Thank you Food For Thought!

This place was GREAT! Wanted something a bit “different” from the typical, heavily breaded, drenched in butter seafood dinner. Three of us had the Rib-eye burger with lobster on top. All three were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. My son proclaimed, “best burger of my life!” My daughter, who’s picky as picky gets, had the lobster ravioli and ate the whole meal. Speaking of kids… Ian, our waiter, was fantastic with the kids and accommodated all of their “demands”! The only complaint (and it’s not really anything they can change) would be more parking as the lot was a bit small. I guess at the same time it could be considered a compliment that it was full the entire time we were there. Will definitely be back the next time we visit coastal Maine! *****FIVE STARS!*****

TL;DR Go for the great tasting food and drinks. The rest of the experience is not so amazing.Food was great and filled our bellies. The location is perfect and easy to access. Now for the not so great things. The seating is uncomfortable, not sure why they went with high chairs with small seats. The chairs are directly under the sun and we went on a hot afternoon, so felt uncomfortable all the time. Only the seating by the bar is shaded. Service was slower but I guess sitting in the hot sun amplified the wait time, it took around 20min to get our order. Drinks are priced on the higher end and the menu doesn’t list the prices. Keep an eye on those cocktails 🙃

Awesome food, they had a great twist on traditional Maine foods. It's all outside seating, but very nice atmosphere. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and their bar offerings. It was one of our best meals while staying in the Ogunquit area.

Great brunch spot! Love the ambiance of the open patio - plus the best vegan brunch option I’ve had in ogunquit (the impossible hash) - super flavorful and filling! Meat eating Husband got the lobster roll and loved the candied bacon on top. Great service too. Highly recommend:)

Went here for a quick lunch and had perfect weather to dine in their outdoor space. The menu is creative and every meal was perfect. The chicken and waffle cones and donut grilled cheese were awesome and unique. Will be back soon!!

The chicken and waffles was OK. The chicken was drowned in maple syrup so the crunch was dad. The waffle was way to sweet to my taste. I think when I order C&W I expect savory dish with a hint of sweet what I’ve got was a desert with a taste of chicken. The presentation was excellent.

What a wonderful little brunch place. Loved the patio! I got an eggs benedict that was delightfully spicy. We were looking for somewhere that had good dedicated gluten-free options, and my family members who have celiac had no problems! Thank you, Food for Thought!

Amazing selection of food, the seating just was a bit uncomfortable in some places. I did love the set up, however and I attribute the uncomfort to mostly the excessive August heat. The menu is full of creative concoctions and the tap selection is vast — I would totally visit again on a cooler day 😋

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. It's freaking phenomenal. The menu here is the most unique menu in Ogunquit Wells area. Don't go to the tourist trap restaurants- come here. You will not be disappointed. The ribeye burger, the Congdon's grilled cheese donut with tomato bisque, the crab meat cheesecake, and the sensational salad are to die for. This is my new staple every time I come to Maine. Plus, the staff is mad friendly and welcoming. Please support this place!

Amazing food. My daughter had honey fried chicken & waffles and ate everything plus what I couldn't eat of my ribeye cheeseburger! My boyfriend had steak & frites that was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful chimichurri sauce. Great beer selection! Don't let the rain stop you, an amazing outdoor restaurant!

Staff- FANTASTIC! Food- OUTSTANDING! Ambiance- PERFECT!Do yourself a favor and walk the extra half mile outside of the main strip of Ogunquit to Food for Thought. Grab a seat at the bar and have Chris whip you up a Bloody Mary with delicious tomato juice mix or a Perfect Margarita with agave and the perfect balance of sweet to tart. For brunch, if you’re nursing a hangover GET THE BREAKFAST POUTINE! Cheesy, yummy, gooey perfection with candied bacon on top. My mouth is watering just writing this.If you’re looking for something lighter yet still filling, the Notorious BLT sandwich on toasted gf or glutenous bread will not disappoint.Whatever you do, don’t give it much thought and just choose Food For Thought for your next meal and you will leave a happy, happy human.Dietary restrictions: A few in our party had dietary restrictions to which the staff didn’t blink an eye. Very accommodating.

The experience here was awesome! Lo lo the bartender and Gretchen the waitress were amazing. We were laughing together within minutes. We took our friends there two nights later. We were there for hours an Lo Lo and Gretchen were absolutely amazing. We would absolutely go there just to have their company! The food was great, the drinks were perfect. I would go back without hesitation. Rarely do you run across such a wonderful place with staff that is truly wonderfulThe only drawback for the place which was quite busy at the time was a waitress or helper named Stephanie as everyone was racing around to help customers she stood idly near by either doing nothing or chatting when her help could obviously have been used!Don’t pass this place by it’s fun and the staff is great!!!

The restaurant is outside so unless it is warm or good weather, don't go lol.All the plates, silverware and glasses, everything is disposable. Your food comes out in a take home container.Food is OK, different but not terrible.Had the street corn which was good but could use a little less of the seasoning as it is mostly salt. To share the corn you will have to cut it off the cob as they won't cut it in half.Had the poutine that was suppose to have gravy but there was none to be seen. Definitely not what you expect for a poutine. No cheese curds more like a cheese sauce. Unless that was suppose to be the cheese and the gravy, no clue but the brisket on top was deliciousThe waffle cones and chicken was unique. Not terrible just different. A little too sweet with the maple syrup cream and syrup and powered sugar and not sure there the blueberries fit in but I was glad I tried something new / different.

The food and dishes are creative. The environment is modern and comfortable. But the price is a little bit experience per experience, and they need more servants.
