Very quaint restaurant overlooking the water. You order at the counter, find a table and then go up when it's ready. The furniture is rustic, wide open space, with large porch you can sit and watch the day go by. I had the lobster roll and it was amazing. Market price was high, but I expected it. Was super fresh. Came with pickles and chips. The wine came in a small plastic cup (only thing I didn't like, but I get it.)

Barnacle Billy's is a great seafood restaurant in Ogunquit in Perkins Cove. They do not take reservations; it is seat yourself style where you order at front at the counter and they will call your number to be picked up when it is ready. I have always gotten a lobster here and loved it, but they have plenty of other options. The restaurant is quite large with lots of seating both inside and out. There is a deck out back that has a good amount of seating as well, and tables are pretty large so they re set up well for families. The restaurant is not upscale, it is just a casual seafood place with great food and great service. I recommend sitting outside on the back deck if the weather is nice because it overlooks the water where you can see boats. It's a very pretty area.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely lunch on the patio of Billy's! We shared the classics and were not disappointed: a lobster roll (you can get either maine or connecticut style - we prefer the connecticut style - warm with butter), a rum punch (this was boozy and delicious!) and the blueberry pie a la mode (amazing), while enjoying the sun and a view of boats docked in the harbor. A great stop for a quintessential Maine meal!

My wife and I had a nice lunch here on a Thursday afternoon in mid August 2023. The weather was cloudy so the place was not as packed as it usually is on a nice sunny day.The restaurant has free valet parking right across the street, and the outside deck has a scenic view of the harbor at Perkins Cove.We ordered lobster rolls, corn on the cob and Cole slaw. One of the most meaty and delicious lobster rolls that we've had. Not inexpensive, but wonderful. Not the best place for wine by the glass, but the beer was very good. The raspberry sorbet and hot fudge sundae with peanut butter Oreo ice cream for dessert were terrific. This is a very pleasant place to have lunch. Good service and great lobster rolls and desserts. We will definitely come back the next time we vacation in the area.

Beautiful location and view. Nice comfy atmosphere inside. Parking available at location (valet). We went at 11:30AM on a Saturday. Service was fast, staff very nice and courteous.Ordered 2 lobster roll meals at $32 each, which came with a few bread and butter pickle chips, and a bag of plain ruffle chips. The lobster tasted excellent, not rubbery at all.You can probably get a similar meal for a couple bucks cheaper, or a meatier roll for only a few dollars more at nearby places. Bit pricey, but expected.

My family has been coming here for years since I was a kid. Food is always great with beautiful ambiance and wonderful staff. We were accommodated late in the evening and had a wonderful waitress. The clam chowder here is a more soupy/less creamy flavour than the classic, delicious in its own way! The broiled Haddock with crust was incredible. So soft and tasteful. And the lobster stuffing was delicious in the baked lobster.Their Smashed Strawberry Lemonade and Rum Punch are both a must-have. Rum punch also comes in little bottles to take home!

View is amazing! Food was just okay. Basic fare. We got the lobster roll, chips and chicken and fried pickle app. Staff was very nice and food was hot. Place was very busy so we had a short wait to be seated

Loved sitting outside for lunch with a beautiful view of the harbor. Free valet parking, just tip! Had the crab roll, which was tasty. Menu is mostly seafood, with some other options. Prices are fair for the quality and experience. Friendly server.

Amazing lobster roll served fresh here! After ordering, a server came around for drinks. Maine Lunch IPA and a Definitive Mango beer were definitely two standouts. Service was friendly and atmosphere was laid back. Great place to bring dogs along, as we saw plenty relaxing with their owners.

I thoroughly enjoyed the cozy fireplace while eating a delicious lobster roll . I highly recommend this restaurant as a "must visit" while in llovely Ogunquit!

This was allegedly Eleanor Roosevelt’s favorite place to dine in Ogunquit/ Perkins Cove. Easy to see why. The rum punch is fun, but you can only have three ;) which is all you need. Excellent seafood and friendly staff. If you can get a seat on the patio, go for it. Inside is nice too.

Best and sweetest steamers I’ve ever eaten! Cooked to order and no sand at all. Chowder was good too. Lobster roll was fresh as fresh can be and the sweetest meat with just the right amount of mayo and on a perfectly grilled roll. Lobster was cooked perfectly and partially cracked to easily get the meat out and not make a mess.10/10 - Will be back this summerPs get a rum runner or two

Great place to grab a bite to eat and to start a walk of the Marginal Way. Just expect higher prices than you will find elsewhere. This is why I rate it a 4 rather than a 5. But, location is everything. My wife and I found their wait staff very friendly and efficient and the portions we're perfect. We also ate outside on a beautiful September day. The view of the harbor was great (very relaxing). If you plan on doing the Marginal Way beach trail (located across the street) pull in the $20 parking lot and tell the attendant you're parking to eat at Barnacle Billy's. Parking in this way is free. However, since the valet for Barnacle Billy's works based on tips, pay him fairly and you'll save a bundle!

Steamers were TO DIE FOR!! Got two orders, one before dinner and one after. Lobster roll was delish, although for $22 it should have come with french fries and not just chips. Had to get a side of fries. Waitress was super friendly. View was great being right on the water.

Highly recommend this establishment! The clam chowder was fabulous, the rum runner was strong and tasty, the lobster rolls were magnificent! We love sitting outside on the patio with the beautiful flowers and boats going by. The service was impeccable.

Had lobster with family - excellent meal! Well-prepared, good sides, simple but very good wine list, comfortable surroundings. We had two 1.5 pound lobsters steamed, and a lobster roll. The place was a bit understaffed but they did well - end of season. We will be back!

Normally I don’t order lobster because my really cool girlfriend is allergic and it just feels kinda rude. Sorry I like to be a gentleman. However, we were here as part of a wedding weekend, I was a groomsman, and the groom was getting a lobster. If you’re a groomsman and you’re not trying to stay on the groom’s wavelength then I don’t even know you. Anyway, the lobster was simply magical and next time I go I gotta try the chowder. My pal Abe said it was delightful and boy do I love a delight.

The lobster roll was really good. Their clam chowder was okay but not great. The view was really amazing!

Excellent Lobster bisque! The steamed lobster was exceptional as well! It just seemed like there were too many people in the kitchen, because many of them were just standing around. It makes you wonder, is that why the food was so expensive? We ended up getting a slice of blueberry pie to go. That was excellent as well!

Barnacle Billy's Original's staff was very helpful and friendly. Clearly they love working there. I had their Lobster, Clam Chowder, and grilled garlic bread. All were very tasty. We also had their "Rum Punch", which was delicious, but dangerous. I would have enjoyed some French fries, but they do not serve deep fried foods. Still I will give them 5 stars because everything they did, they did very well. This restaurant is a must if you find yourself in Ogunquit, ME... and you should.

The seafood price is a little high on this water side family friendly establishment. Order your food by the counter and take any available table in or outside. Like the lobster not so much on the clams because its kinda sandy to my taste and definitely love the fresh maine wild blueberry pie !! A side note, I left my bag and the owner or restaurant crew kept it safe for me and managed to get it back before the restaurant open the next day. Bravo !!

Not gonna lie, this place is pricey especially considering you don’t get your food served at the table. But the food as good as you would expect it and there is a very good, friendly and laid-back vibe going on. And the location is amazing.
