My wife and I bring our red nose pit bull here since she was a pup and they have been great. I’m grateful we found them and for the owners. I love how we were able to see her while she was at school from FB live, and are able to see them interacting/playing with one another. Thank you to Rony & Jennifer

Paws and Claws has been such a blessing to our family. Our girl Stella goes twice per week and has since she was around 4 months old (she's 3 now). We also board her there when we travel and we never worry 1 bit. I don't think she'd be nearly as well behaved as she is if not for Jen & Rony. She comes home tired and happy which helps us because she's energetic and can he a handful. She's a better dog because of Paws and Claws.

I love everything about Paws and Claws. All 3 of my fur babies go here and they love it!! I know that they are taken care of when at daycare or for boarding. We are very particular about who takes care of our pets. We have never boarded them anywhere until now. I leave then there with no hesitation. I tell all my doggie owner friends about Paws and Claws! Jen and Rony are fantastic!!

I have used this dog care facility for more than a decade and highly recommend it. My dog loves it and is always excited to go there. The owners and staff are excellent and, when you board pets there, you can be certain they will be treated like family in a safe, cage free environment with attention to details like high quality food, total supervision, multiple outside play and lounge areas, and comfy inside climate-controlled lounge/nap/sleep areas. Daily pics and videos uploaded to the Paws and Claws web presence is an extra that is most appreciated! Paws and Claws has been a godsend for me and my dog this past year when my husband was having a prolonged health crisis. Jenn and Roni were more than sympathetic and understanding of our stressful, uncertain situation, and even offered me a much appreciated discounted rate for my dog’s six month boarding stay. I never worry when my dog is at Paws and Claws and wouldn’t go anywhere else for daycare and boarding for my dog!

We absolutely love Paws and Claws! My girl Dixie gets so excited when we pull in and just has the best time! They take such good care of her and I know she’s in good hands. Definitely recommend!

Paws and Claws is where we love to send our boy Blue for weekly play days with his fur friends and where we leave him when we go away. We love that we can leave him and know that he is safe, well taken care of, gets to play, and is loved. Blue has gone there since he was old enough to start, just a little pup, and Rony and Jennifer have been wonderful as well as their other staff. We love Paws and Claws and so does our boy Blue!

I hesitated to write this review given how many people seem to love this place, but the more time that goes by the more I feel I need to share my experience. On the referral from a friend I reached out via email regarding doggy daycare and possible boarding in the future. Jennifer called me to follow-up and the conversation started out *okay*, but then when I mentioned the friend's post where I heard about Paws & Claws things took a VERY abrupt, dark, and quite unprofessional turn. She literally went off and attacked the person I said recommended them by calling her "an idiot" and "a liar" repeatedly when the friend I referenced had not said ONE bad word about their business. Every time I tried to speak Jennifer kept on with the verbal attack and then suddenly explained the next available day for a meet & greet would be September 11. THEN in the next sentence went off again, said she was too upset to keep talking, and simply hung up on me. Here's the thing, that call told me all I needed to know about this woman and her business. NOT because of the things she said specifically about my friend, but more because of the fact she said them about a client at all without any legitimate reason. I get that people (even business owners) have bad days, but this was beyond disturbing and unprofessional. What finally led me to write this review was the fact this phone call was more than a week ago and nobody from Paws & Claws has made any attempt to contact me again and at least try to apologize and express ANY kind of remorse. I'm very disappointed and still pretty rattled by this experience, but glad to have learned it now BEFORE entrusting these people with caring for our dog.

We love the team at Paws and Claws. Our Sunny girl loves her weekly visit and we rest easy knowing she is in a safe, loving environment when we go out of town. Can’t say enough positive things... great people who really care!❤️

My Dusty has been going to Paws and Claws since he was 6 months old. They are wonderful and very loving. My boy loves it there. When we have to go away we know he is safe and well taken care of. He comes home happy and tired from playing, every time! I never have to worry about him when he is there and having seen other facilities and how they are run, I know my boy is never alone and NEVER penned up. You wont find better care for your furbaby anywhere.

My dog has only been a few times, so far, and the first few times we were not sure she was going to benefit from it, but Rony made me believe that all she needed was a few more visits and she would do just fine. Sure enough on her 3rd visit she did just great and is now doing well. I applaud the business these people have created and am so thankful it is in my community. They are compassionate and well educated in the canine world.

We love Paws and Claws. Shelby has been going twice a a week for over two years. She also boards there a few times a year. They are very professional and you can tell they love what they do! Can't say enough good about them!

Baxter and Bailey love it there. It is the only place I will take them when I go on vacation (even though I now live over an hour away from Paws and Claws). They love Rony and Jennifer and can't wait to see them. They are treated like family there and never put in a small cage. They get a pool to swim in in the summer heat and a fire place with comfy sleeping areas for a nap by the fire in the winter. I love seeing the pictures of my (and other) dogs when they go there. I can't say enough good things about the care they give my dog and how they treat me.

Rony and Jen are wonderful!! We found them when we needed doggy daycare for our elderly shitzu-poodle. He had a terrible time with separation anxiety but he was always very comfortable at Paws & Claws. As he aged and began to suffer from health problems, Rony and Jen just took it all in stride. Chewy loved them both. About a year after he died of old age, we rescued Riley, a female Yorkshire terrier. She's 10 pounds for pure attitude!! And she too loves Jen and Rony. They're been wonderful at helping her learn to get along better with other dogs. I'd recommend Paws & Claws to anyone looking for a wonderful doggy daycare.

We trust Paws & Claws wholeheartedly. Our large breed Bull Mastiff & English Mastiff pups adore Jen & Rony. Morgan greets us with a smile & is super sweet to our dogs. Without Paws & Claws love, support & encouragement we would not have opened our home to a 2nd Mastiff Diesel. Just 2 months after bringing home Willow Diesel was looking for a forever home. Rony assured us that he & Jen (Paws & Claws) would be there to help. They were just as excited as we were to meet Diesel. They provide a safe, structured beautiful environment for our big babies to spend their days playing & lounging just being dogs. We feel very lucky to have a place like Paws & Claws. Jen & Rony are special people who are committed to their clients. We cant thank them enough.

We have been taking our fur baby Sunny to Paws and Claws since she was a pup and she’s 8 years old now. We wouldn’t use anyone else. It’s obvious how much Jen and Roni truly care about each and every pet the comes through the door! We are grateful for them and how much love they show to our love!! Thank you P&C!!

My husband and I used paws and claws for daycare when I worked outside the home. The owners truly treated our dogs as their own and our dogs Fred and Wilma loved going there everyday. If we are ever in need of daycare or boarding again, they will be our first call for sure.

Paws and Claws is absolutely amazing! When we lived in Maine this was the only place we felt good about leaving our dog Dakotah when we went on vacation. Rony was always so great with our dog even though he is very anxious. Usually he hates being dropped off for day care or boarding but everytime he was being dropped off it was like he couldnt get inside fast enough! Rony was always incredibly patient with him!One of the biggest downsides of not living in Maine anymore is that we cant board our furbaby at Paws and Claws! Lived in two different states since and tried at least half a dozen other doggie daycares and our dog has hated all of them. Dont listen to the haters! This is hands down the best doggy day care/boarding around!

Gus loves going to Paws and Claws, he gets excited when we turn on the street. Roni meets him at the door and he never looks back. When we watch videos of his day at home he gets very excited to hear Jen or Roni's voice. I feel very confident that he is well cared for while he is there!

It appears an all-out vicious online attack has been instituted to harm this business. While there will always be unhappy customers for any business, I find it odd that six of the ten 1-star reviews have no comments. Of the reviews with comments, one states a man answering the phone said you called the wrong place when asked if they shaved cats. Listed as a doggie day care and boarding facility, their web site states they board cats also, nowhere does it say they are pet groomers, why would she call there? Another (Hunter 666) stated he loves pets but saw them exposed to cigarette and marijuana smoke. So, if he didn’t love pets, it would have been OK? Never have I smelled any type of smoke in their home or on anyone greeting me and Bo. Then there is the infamous Dr. Patrick Magroine’s review, who by the way is not listed on the State of Maine Board of Licensure (past or present), that includes many controversial buzz words, however few actual facts. The doctor states he decided to try them out based on their website and his phone conversation. You just don’t drop off a new dog at Paws and Claws and hope for the best. All new dogs require a consultation. This initial three hour meet and greet is to assess the dog and the dog’s reaction to the new environment. Rony tells you that the owner must to be able to be reached immediately and be able to pick up the dog in case they are not responding well. If all goes fine, a full day of doggie day care is set up the following week to evaluate a full day with all the dogs. Both days Rony encourages you to assess your dog and your instincts. There is no avoiding this procedure. I assured Rony that I had a good dog, minds well and felt he would do just fine, yet it was still required to make sure he was a good fit. Patrick Magtoine then states on the way home his son asked him what some of the overheard words meant. This man claims to be a doctor and a parent yet is unable to answer a 5 year old’s questions? Jennifer is one of the most pleasant, friendliest, upbeat women I have met. The last 1-star comment from Brian Roderick claims it is riddled with lead paint and asbestos, again controversial buzz words, if true, was he incompetent to perform such work? Paws and Claws is licensed with the Sate of Maine and fully insured by a local well known insurance company. Inspections must be made and met to reach this status. It appears there was a bad working relationship between Paws and Claws and Brian Roderick’s Construction company. Unfortunately, people don’t always provide the service that they were hired to perform and, in their failure, they are unable to accept responsibility and not only need to blame someone else but choose take out their unhappiness with themselves by trying to destroy others. AKA bullies. I would like to say nice try, but not really, you have done another poor job. You will find the pet owners who trust their four-legged family members with Paws and Claws will not quietly sit back and let this happen without voicing their opinions. In using Dr. Magroine words, I am truly disgusted by these individuals. Paws and Claws will survive this on- line assassination attempt and continue to be successful simply through their known reputation and word of mouth. I myself have recommended them to numerous dog owners. Five years ago I moved an hour south of Oakland, yet still bring Bo because he sits up in the car, whining as we turn on to E. School St and only slows down to excitedly be greeted by Rony, as he runs to be with his friends, never looking back. Sometimes we drop him off for the day, because he needs a little pack like mentality structure which results in better behavior at home.If you are looking for a safe happy place for your dog for the day, a week or two - Paws and Claws is the place. You will find a happy, excited, healthy and tired dog when you pick them up.Marcia Maheu, real person, real pet Bo goes to Paws and Claws and loving it!

A terrific operation. Well run, professional and caring. They work hard to make sure all of the dogs they watch over are safe, happy and healthy. We’ve tried other boarders and Paws and Claws is the best!

Awesome place fora loved one. Not to mention that there have been many time I wished to be in Boone's ( my Choc Lab ) shoes. Though I thoroughly enjoy Baxter Park they do not allow dogs. So when I spend a few days in Baxter, I only trust this place, though others are near by. Thx so much for the care you give my bestest buddy.

I couldn’t be happier with the love and care that my dog Scout gets at Paws and Claws. There were many times I needed to board him on short notice when my dad was sick, and it was never a problem. I would recommend them highly.

We’ve had nothing but happy experiences with Paws and Claws. And to refute the trolls it’s easy to see they take good care of the animals they watch from their Facebook videos. Happy looking dogs!

My dog MacKenna has a significant trauma history. She’s afraid of almost everyone. She barks and it is a scary bark. Most people are immediately intimidated by her. Roni and Jen are two of the only people MacKenna will engage with. I am so lucky that we found Paws and Claws for daycare and boarding. They always post pictures and videos through the day. I never have to worry while MacKenna is in their care. I’d be lost without them.

If you truly care about your two and four legged family members do not utilize the services offered here. My 5yr old son and I were planning on taking a overnight trip down to NH and the person the person that usually watches Jax our black lab was out of town so I checking online for a doggy daycare facility that offered overnight boarding. That's when I came across Paws and claws in Oakland. Based on the website and the phone conversation I decided go try out them out. So after packing for our trip my son and I went to paws and claws. We got out of the car and put the leash on Jax and started up the ramp. Immediately I could hear an elevated female voice but I couldn't make out what was being said so I just figured someone was playing with one of the other animals that was staying there as well. It was until I got to door with my 5yr old that the words became clear. There was a lady sitting in a wheelchair spewing the most vile and hatefueled rhetoric I've ever heard. I was beside myself, I couldn't believe at this place where people are supposed to be able to bring members of their family and drop them off to be cared for sat this individual whom I can't even call a lady screaming and going on. This hate filled racial and homophobic rant of this individual was apalling. Then she finally notices that someone is at the door, she turns and looks at my son and I, turns back around to whomever it was she was screaming at and began spewing hate once again. I was in shock. I grabbed my son and Jax and we left never to return. If all that wasn't bad enough on the ride back home my son starts asking me what the meaning of some of those words were. I'm truly disgusted by these individuals and if you care about your furry family members please don't subject them to the level of depravity that resides at this business.
