Extremely frustrating experience…Jessica, Waterville office, felt my concerns as the patient were irrelevant.. I spoke with Jessica prior to this office interaction, listening skills are required to help people..she talked over me as I was trying to explain my situation.

I dont understand why they schedule way too many people for one single doctor. My daughter appointment was at 10:45 and still haven't been seen and now it's 11:30 this is unacceptable. They need to have a better system into not scheduling too many people in one day. I shouldn't have to wait this long just for your basic eye exam and it took longer than it should. I don't have hours to waste in this place. Let your patients know that it's going to be more than a forty five minute appointment so they won't be late for other things that they had planned for the day.

Bought my wife some 300.00 sunglasses for Christmas they did not fit properly I called to exchange them or upgrade but was told they do not exchange non prescription nice to know after I purchased never going back

I love the Newport Eye Care facility! They were so thorough and explained what they were doing as they went along! There was no pressure but when given the choice of contacts for multi vision, there was no question! I didn’t know that was an option. If i choose to wear these contacts, no more ready glasses and better yet they are daily lenses so no cleaning and sanitizing!The staff was great and courteous!

New patients considering this office will receive great care BUT must be aware that their time will NOT be valued. My family & I have been patients here for 5 years & every year none of us see the doctor until at least 1 hour after our scheduled appointment time. When we ask how much longer, the response is always either nothing, "the doctor should be in shortly" or "oh that's frustrating." My appointment was at 8:15 this morning & I didn't see the doctor until 9:20. How could they be behind by over an hour at 8:15am when they open at 8:00?!

And then there is AMY, the staff member who took care of me before meeting with the doctor! What a kind, caring, empathetic human!! I felt so cared about, not just my vision, but as a person! I have had several eye doctors I have lived in this area. The one I have stuck with is Newport eye care. The doctors here are very knowledgeable the whole staff is kind and very friendly. They work with you to afford your contacts and eyeglasses. They are all very kind there and I have appreciated them over these past years for the great job they have done for me

My husband and I recently had complete exam and we are very pleased with our new eye clinic. The staff at Newport Eye Care are pleasant, caring and knowledgeable. They answer questions and explain results. Clinic location has easy access with plenty of parking. Extra kudos to Melissa from the Harris' family.

Newport Eye Care was great to deal with! They were able to not only help my son get the right glasses/contacts for his eyes, but they were also able to identify an ongoing issue that he's been having with his eyes within the first visit. As anyone knows me, I have a severe anxiety disorder when it comes to anything medical. Especially when it comes to my eyes. I recently had Floaties appear in my left eye, and I made an appointment back in September 2022, my appointment was yesterday (1/18/23) I cried at the thought of the eye dilation as I’ve never had it and anyone with an anxiety disorder knows blurry vision can be associated with anxiety and it does with me, so the thought of medication making my eye sight blurry petrified me.I’ll start by this, walking in to Newport Eye Care, it’s SUPER clean, organized, and such friendly staff, my wait time to be called in was about 10-15mins..Candy who was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! I admit I was hesitant and probably not the easiest client they’ve dealt with, when it came to putting in those drops, I cried, but she never once judged me, was completely calm, soothing, and even offered me a hug which was truly amazing! She was patient, kind, collective, and so professional, she went above and beyond to make me feel as comfortable as she could! Candy is truly amazing and a Godsend!! I would definitely go back especially if I got her again! Kiran preformed the exam, after about 25 min of waiting (for my eyes to fully dilate) and it was super quick and we were done. My eye sight only stung with the drops for a few seconds, my eyes never went blurry.. it was a little painful to look close up (at my phone) but never struggled to truly see and the fear of the unknown is what triggers my anxiety. However I absolutely love this place which is something crazy for me to say where I have a huge phobia and for anyone with an anxiety disorder this is YOUR PLACE TO GO!

I’ve been using them for a while now. the staff is very friendly, the doctors are very knowledgeable. They have a great selection of eyewear. I wear contact lenses and their contact lens exam is very very affordable. I would recommend this place to anyone that is on a budget Or has Maine care ,if you Wear contact lenses.

The office in Newport is friendly and comfortable. I have seen Dr Ian Jones for a number of years and followed him to the new office. It is handicapped assessable as well, which I appreciated for my husband. The wait time is considerate and the care is exceptional. I like the fact that Dr. Jones takes the time to explain everything to you and gives you the opportunity to ask questions and get answers. I hope that the selection of eye wear will be expanded in the future, although I quickly found what I liked. When I pick up my glasses, I will ask for an itemized receipt because I like to see the itemized costs and what insurance paid as well a copy of my prescription , because I travel out of state in the winter. Overall, the service and care was excellent!

I see Dr. Ian Jones at Newport Eye Care and he is fabulous! He provides clear, detailed explanations and even shares the images of my eyes internally so that I can see exactly what’s going on. I am a 75-year-old diabetic with slow growing cataracts and I have complete faith in Dr. Jones. His staff are also wonderful – friendly, supportive, and helpful. Candy, the young woman who did the initial eye exam, was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative as well. I highly recommend this practice!
