We set off in the fall to Maine for our first time.We are “last minute”, “figure things out along the way” type people. What an excitement it was to find this cozy and conveniently located place to stay! That accepts DOGS!This was our first trip taking our dog anywhere. He did so great, we took both our dogs across country after!Place was clean. Staff was very friendly. It was close to the parks. And did I mention, dog friendly 🐕Highly recommend!

We are in the middle of our stay at the Red Barn Motel, and already it is a wonderfully enjoyable experience. The rooms are clean and well furnished. The staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful with our travel questions. We love the location because it is in the middle of everything we want to do: Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park as well as Campobello Island. And, we love the serene landscape; it is the first time we have stayed at a place offering a community garden. We will be back!

We only stayed one night but was very happy with the accommodations and the staff! If you're looking for a Ritz then, keep going. If you're looking for clean, comfortable and nice people, stay here! There are not a lot of restaurant options. If you're looking for good food from a road side truck, don't miss the Knotty Lobster! Wonderful lobster rolls, took them back to the room and ate on our porch looking out to the water. There was a boat tour that we found out about too late to go but, was highly recommended to see puffins, Robertson Sea Tours. Would definitely come back to Red Barn and Milbridge!

Very pleasantly surprised with the Red Barn Motel. The room was large, well furnished and clean, and had a deck overlooking the lovely river. Set back from the road, the place was very quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. The lady host was a pleasure to deal with and the price was right! Will definitely return if in the neighborhood again.

This is an excellent little motel with clean rooms, friendly staff, and a great location considering it’s surrounded by small towns. I felt completely relaxed and at home during the two nights I was there. Funnily enough, what tickled me the most is that this place still uses metal keys for the rooms…no cards that get demagnetized or QR codes that don’t scan or smartphone apps that don’t work right. The metal key works every time! Highly recommended!

What a glorious sight after driving 10 hours! Bed are hands down the most comfy I’ve slept on in any motel (and way better than my own bed) .Rooms are clean and equipped with all your essentials (TV with cable, coffee, microwave, AC, mini fridge). The balcony has a great view. Trees and nature all around. They even let me make a last minute change to my room, which was super appreciated and just wonderful.I will be back to this comfy little place and next time I’ll bring my dogs😄

Stayed in a pet friendly room with a king bed. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Some tv channels didn’t work but there was enough that worked to get my tv dose in. The community garden is cute and had a good view of the river. The ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely stay again and would recommend to friends/family.

This is an economy motel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. However the facilities lack the quality one usually expects from modern motels. Maintenance needs to be improved. One of the lamps in our room didn’t work. The bathroom door squeaks badly and the doorstop lacks its rubber bumper tip. The steps leading up to the second floor level are old and have some protruding nails on the steps. But the view from our room was nice. It was the third room we tried as the first room exuded strong paint smells and the toilet wouldn’t flush (that was remedied quickly by staff - thanks!) But the next door room paint/finish smells were even worse. Finally I asked to have a room where they hadn’t recently refurbished and we found the one we’re using in the older building/section of the motel complex. The bed mattress was not firm and we found ourselves sinking towards each other in the night. Otherwise the room was clean and inviting. Thankfully there were no Gideon bibles in the drawers as is often found in motels/hotels in our country. We don’t need to be preached at or sought to be proselytized. Some motels/hotels even have The Book of Mormon in the drawers! How about a copy of the Koran and a dozen other mainstream religions? That would be only fair but of course ridiculous!A great perk was the electric vehicle charging station just across the street. All new facility. Very nice! The view from our balcony is lovely of the water and the free garden which is very nice as well.

Arrived on July 8th for just one night stay hold the phone number off the internet and called the most wonderful woman answered the phone and said there was a room left. We needed some place to hunker down from the possible storm that was coming up the coast. What a lovely surprised to see that there was a community garden where we could walk through and pick strawberries. The most delicious strawberries I have had in quite a while. The view of the water is gorgeous the fog rolled in this morning and we just enjoyed having coffee on the deck. The rooms are lovely comfortable beds wonderful sheets. The only negative was we couldn't seem to get any cold water in the shower I'm sure they will take care of that problem immediately. My husband had to fill the tub up with hot water and let it cool off. Definitely I would give this more than five stars if I could.

Very reasonably priced motel in Milbridge. We just stayed there for the first time a few weeks ago. About $100 a night. Basically, that means they are almost completely occupied all summer so make your reservations early.Beds are comfortable. Rooms are not fancy but clean and relatively spacious. Staff was very friendly. Also, they are pet friendly.Did I mention they have a free community garden onsite? This, in of itself makes it worth a stop. Pro tip, you do not even have to stay at the hotel to pick vegetables - all are welcome!

Pleasantly surprised with how comfortable the beds and linens were. We slept great. Hot water took awhile but besides that everything was great. Beautiful property with a garden.

While not a lot to look at from the outside, our room was a surprise. It was large, newly updated and super clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice view of the river. Good value for the area.

This was a great 2 day stay for me. With it being newly renovated, you just can't beat the price. I highly recommend this place for anyone passing through or vacationing in the wonderful historical town of Cherryfield Maine or the surrounding areas. The staff is great and the rooms are very cozy and comfortable.

Simple decor but I'm not sure why the ratings aren't higher. My room had a balcony overlooking the water behind building. This was a nice quiet spot and there is a community garden outside where you can pick your own vegetables. Small town is very friendly. If there were kitchenettes in these rooms I'd be tempted to move in permanently :p

You’ve spent the day exploring Down East Maine, it’s getting late, and there’s no rooms available or the rate is ridiculously high. This place is perfect. It’s a no-frills modest facility but the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. The staff is friendly and the morning coffee is great. Not disappointed.

WHAT A GEM, AND A LIFESAVER! I'm traveling with my mother and her boyfriend, and about 3 or 4 in the afternoon we found out our airbnb reservations started a day later than we expected, so we were halfway to our next stay and found out we didn't have one! There was nothing near Winter Harbor/Bar Harbor where we were headed as far as an airbnb or hotel that didn't cost at least $220, then we happened across this place on tripadviser. It was 98 bucks after tax, and we got here and were greeted by a really nice lady at check-in who was working after hours even. The room isn't fancy, but it's very clean and comfortable. Nice view a bay out the back as well! A great deal, all and all!

We were grateful to get the last room here, when most area motels were full. We liked the view of the bay and the room had a fridge and microwave. That being said, we must have gotten a room that hasn't been renovated yet. There were old fixtures, a loose toilet seat, not enough electrical outlets (meaning I had to reach behind the microwave and choose either lamp, microwave or coffee maker and swap the plugs out. Ughh), dreary colored and old bathroom vanity, a cheap, old mirror and not a real clean tub. The grass needed cutting and we had no lounge chairs to sit outside of our sliding glass door and look at the bay. The wifi didn't want to connect. For $100, I'd like better than that. Overall, it felt like they need to pay attention to the details.

Loved this motel it's about an hour north from Bar Harbor and Acadia National park. If you dont mind the drive it's worth it because of the peace and solitude you have back at the motel and the backyard view is hard to beat. There are wild turkeys that coming through the area too. Fair pricing I thought.

The perfect place with all the basics, a fabulous view and you can walk right to the river. Pet friendly too!! Book direct and save $. Less than 5 min to picturesque Millbridge Village. Free breakfast. I recommend 44 Degrees North Pub and Grill for lunch or dinner. Healthy food prepared well and reasonably priced.
