I’m a child in a candy shop here; I’ve been passionate about gardening and houseplant owning for a while, and I can’t get over how decent their prices are for such healthy plants. I’ve gotten perennial herbs from here that have bounced back every spring such as chives, orange and chocolate mint, and lavender. The houseplants I get here have the healthiest roots I’ve ever seen! I prefer to transfer my houseplants into leca which involves me having to dig into the roots shortly after buying it. I’m going to attach pictures of the two I bought recently, marble queen pothos and monstera Thai constellation. There was not a single sign of root rot and all the roots were very full and white! Hilariously I tend to have the opposite problem with long fellows; the roots are so healthy and strong, they are actively trying to escape the pot! The best kind of problem to have

I think this has to be one of the best greenhouses in the state of Maine. The grounds are well maintained (first impressions say a lot!). There’s tons of parking available. Their store hours are very convenient. The inside of the store and the surrounding greenhouses are very well organized. They offer a huge variety of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, seedlings, seeds, and tons of gardening supplies. Longfellow’s products have always been high quality and I rarely need to return items. Their greenhouse staff are helpful and very knowledgeable about what they sell and how to properly care for what you’re purchasing. I’ve got quite the learning curve and I appreciate their taking the extra time to share their wealth of knowledge. Great place to do business!!

I love this place so much, I moved so I could be closer to it. I love walking around, smelling everything, looking at everything. Everyone is so happy.I can't wait to go again, even though I already have too many plants. Everyone has their "thing" I guess.

Super garden centre, is definitely one of the best I have ever been to. They have an excellent selection of houseplants especially rare plants. In general, you can find anything you need for the garden. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Beautiful selection with many options. Great prices, very fair. Knowledgeable staff that are willing to help. Went here for the first time for the craft fair but bought more in the greenhouse than we did in the craft fair! Definitely looking forward to visiting again when it warms up.

It's difficult to be objective about Longfellows; it's my favorite garden and gift center. High quality plants, at fair prices and a wide assortment of gift items. There are many greenhouses to wander through including one totally dedicated to house plants. The Christmas season is spectacular with color. It's worth visiting just as a tourist.

I love Longfellows. They almost always have what I am looking for, and they always have something I didn't realize I can't live without. Their selection - in whichever department you are shopping in - is excellent. I have been shopping here since 2001 and I am so glad I live nearby. An added bonus is the various events and classes they have. AND when you have a question, they have staff who are very knowledgeable about anything to do with plants and gardening. Almost forgot. Their Christmas decorations are exquisite and unique. Stop reading this and just go there. NOW! 😀

Went in the winter to check out house plant and seed selection. House plants were rad. Seed selection was pretty lacking.EDIT: I really appreciate them responding about my comment about seed selection. I look forward to visiting again.

Longfellows is a beloved area institution. They are helpful while there, respond to emails and are always friendly. They seem to always have what you need. Just go. There's no chance you'll regret it. What could be nicer, right? An afternoon walking around smelling and looking at flowers. Maybe with a loved one. Like I said, just go.

Nice greenhouse but couldn't find a single plant native to Maine being sold. Plants seemed well cares for, but wish I could've found something that could be planted outdoors.

It's true what they say, "You get what you pay for". This business stands by its product 110%! Last year I bought an Arctic Kiwi from them and it died on me, but they replaced it. This year I bought tomatoes for my patio. I also bought some from another greenhouse and I have to say, my tomatoes from Longfellow's are out performing the others. Not only are these people completely knowledgeable of their plants and flowers, they also care. I will pay their prices, because I know that I can rely on the quality.

I have been a customer of Longfellows for many years and never had a complaint until this year.. Two weeks ago I bought three of their boxwood Christmas trees for 57.99 each and with in two weeks they are all drying up. Now I have bought these every year for the past 5 years and they have lasted 8 weeks or more. I am more disappointed in the fact that I have tried to contact them twice through email and I cant get a response. Their web site says to contact them but they don't respond. Here are a few pictures and they look worse every day.Five stars to Longfellows, Three of the most beautiful boxwood Christmas trees were just delivered by Anna. My girls and I sure appreciate you going above and beyond to get these to us. We look forward to them every year as they are a part of of Holdiay decorating.Thank you AnnaTammy Oakes
