Great meal. We had lobster rolls and fish and chips made with some amazing local pollack. The lobster roll came on a perfectly prepared roll and had just the right amount of mayo. The pollack was thick, flaky, and done perfectly. The fries/chips were also done just right...a bit crispy. An excellent and reasonably priced meal. Give them a try!

Away from the maddening crowds of Bar Harbor, a fine little place to eat. Food is served at the Shore Thing which is a part of the wholesale seafood business. Lobster fresh off the boat.

I cannot recommend this place enough! I grew up in Maine and so my first order of business when I come home is fried clams and these were THE BEST fried clams I've ever had! My mom had the fish and chips which was also an excellent piece of fish. What's even better? The tartar sauce and the coleslaw was homemade which is not the norm these days! The prices were also incredibly reasonable and the staff were so phenomenal and kind! Special shout out to Linda and Cass!!Seriously go here if you want a real Maine seafood experience that isn't gimmicky, won't break the and served with a smile!

This place had great reviews so we decided to stop…. NOT WORTH IT.Food was OK at best. (Mozza sticks were actually amazing)Service was horrible. There was only 1 other table when we came in and we waited for someone to seat us, food took about 20 minutes, I had to ask for water twice.

The sign has a different name, A Shore Thing, I believe, but it’s the same location as the seafood restaurant. We ordered burgers, they were good. The place is kind of empty inside. Has lots of potential to be really cute with some effort put into the decor. Not much open in the area so this was a welcomed spot.

Best crab roll I’ve had in years! Seafood chowder is full of haddock, shrimp, clams, scallops … nice and brothy, not thickened—just the way I love it!

So bought fresh lobsters and crabs the lady on cashier said scale at front is open to show me, however the approached was unfriendly & appeared reluctant to show exactly the scale. Proceeded to ask to show it to me and lovsters in accurate weight and did not show me the weigh of my crabs (those are common sense show it all to the customer). Not sure the woman there, appeared not honest. I used to be able to go to the back and pick what size I want.

Delicious meal, well worth the stop. But they close for the season on Oct 27, 2023. This was the last restaurant we could find for the season. Glad they stayed open!

This is a great place to go for take out in Lubec. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, poutine, and a pizza. Everything tasted great! There menu has a lot of different options. We will definitely be eating here again next time we visit Lubec.

Wow ordered fried shrimp it was so greasy it was uneatable. Ordered a cheeseburger also it wasn't good either. No need for me to go back. Over $30 for nothing.

Nice lobster roll with a crisp, buttery bun. Do not order the chowders. No flavor or soup like consistency, more like boiled milk with seafood/clams thrown in at the end.

Food is good, but very pricey, and you are charged $12+ extra for steaming each item.i.e lobsters, steamers... Not many options in the immediate area, so they can easily do this... good, but not that good. Unless you are an elitist, of course!

We got fresh lobster one night to cook and even got directions. We got fresh haddock the next night and I've never gotten fresher fish that I hadn't caught myself!

We made several purchases over the two weeks we visited Lubec! Great lobster, fresh haddock, fish & chips and hot sandwiches! They have it all. Staff was super friendly too. They can get swamped with orders, so be sure to be patient if visiting during prime time and you'll be rewarded with quality food!

Haddock burger was amazing. Fish & chips were superb. Some yummy Canadian popcorn shrimp rounded out the seafood. The coleslaw was delicious. Super fresh, she was making it when we arrived.Some excellent local draft beers just made it heaven.Highly recommend.

The fish and chips were decent. The fried clams were a little smelly. The lobster roll wasn't anything amazing. Two ladies were running the place, took quite a while to get some deep fried foods (mozzarella sticks were standard Sysco, not sure what the other reviewer was raving about... And they were under cooked). A few locals popped in and got food quickly. This wasn't horrible, but I'd never tell someone to specifically go there.

My family stopped there with one hour before closing. They said they could not boil lobster in time for closing. For some reason, it takes them 60minutes to cook lobster! To top it off, there was another family, that was just starting to eat their lobsters! As a salvage for the trip, we ordered ice cream floats, and somehow they managed to mess those up!

Would love to give zero stars but here we are. They say they open till 7pm but if you want lobster at 615pm, it's not gonna happen. Apparently it takes longer to boil a lobster there an any other place in the world. If your ready to close up an go home by 630pm, then quit an get back on unemployment an give the job to someone who is actually willing to work till 7pm. So glad we drove 2 hours for that.

Good food, quick service. I ate here twice while I was in Lubec and it was great for lunch / takeout.Their fish and chips were excellent! We had a few other sides but the seafood is really what sticks out- fresh from the source!

Great place to grab and go (or sit and eat) in Lubec. Plenty of choices for the one person who is not sure what she wants or the family of picky eaters who seek totally different things. Service is quick and staff keep up with the crowds nicely. Remember their ice cream for dessert.

The food is delicious and tastes really fresh, because it is! It's some of the best quality seafood I've ever had, and I've had a lot of seafood! Whether you choose to buy a fresh-cooked meal, or take some home raw to cook yourself, you absolutely can't go wrong!

We've enjoyed several wonderful meals from Shore Thing. Tonight the clams and scallops we ordered smelled and tasted burnt, as if the oil was burnt, and were inedible. Very disappointing to pay $60 for French fries and slaw.

Everything is cooked to perfection and servings sizes generous. Everyone is very friendly...but then that seems to be all of Lubec. Outside dining on the deck. This place is always clean too. Eat in or take out.

We had the fish and chips with homemade coleslaw and tartar sauce and open faced turkey sandwich with homemade gravy. Everything was excellent and reasonably priced and staff was super friendly. They also sell Gifford's ice cream which is a bonus!
