We bought a beautiful Vermont Castings stove and had it installed using our home's old chimney. The folks at Don's did a great job relining the chimney and installing the stove and gave us a tutorial on how to use it. They were super professional and friendly and worked hard to get our stove installed despite some really challenging weather! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a wood burning stove or chimney work anytime!

I’ve been using my QuadraFire pellet stove for twenty consecutive winters. After my previous stove shop bailed on us and moved to Yarmouth Maine I had to find another stove shop in this region. Don’s Stove shop is by far the best I’ve ever done business with and I am very glad we found them! They are very knowledgeable with all of the products and replacement parts they sell. This is one big difference in comparison to big box stores. The quality of Don’s products are very reliable and if I didn’t use their rugged parts I don’t think I’d be burning pellets for 20 years with the exact same stove! I highly recommend this team.

Everytime I need something these folks are reliable and professional. A real GO TO type of buisness for anything I need as a homeowner. From troubleshooting and fixing a pellet stove on two seperate occasions as well as installing a woodburning stove this buisness is knowledgeable and thorough. We purchased a pellet stove from Don’s Stove Shop almost 3years ago. Don and Hunter were very knowledgeable about the products they sell. They didn’t try to hard sell us on anything and worked with us to find the right pellet stove for our needs. Installation was done professionally and according to code.This month, we had a small issue with the pellet stove. We called Don’s to explain, and the issue was resolved quickly and respectfully. The techs are careful about not tracking snow or mud into the house. They’re friendly and well trained. The best thing about buying a stove from Don’s Stove Shop is that we know the service is as good as, or even better than the sale. We highly recommend them if you need a pellet or wood burning stove for your home or business.

Couldn’t be happier. The whole experience from on site evaluation to install was fantastic. During the evaluation they made good suggestions as to placement of the stove and good advice on the hearth as I was building it myself. The install went smooth and the installers were friendly and left the site spotless. Would 100% recommend. Also, I took estimates from 3 different companies and their pricing was very fair.

I ment to share this a year ago! This company is amazing g! We've been using our wood burning stove over a year now its beautiful functional and the installer was awesome! Adam is the owner (Don) son. He's a hard worker and got it done in a few short hours. He had to drill into an old 1810 chimney and made it look easy! We love our stove and when out pellet stove went out a few days ago I knew who to call. Spoke to the Owner this time Don and we will be getting a new pellets stove from Don's stove shop! Wouldn't go anywhere else! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Don and his team installed a gas fireplace insert for us earlier this year. A nice unit at a good price. They were great throughout the process. The fireplace stopped working last week and Don and his son came over within two days and took care of the problem and wished us a merry Christmas. Installer ran into problems with an older home chimney. I wasn't aware of the possibility that a few feet of my chimney would topple to the ground during their install—neither the salesperson nor installers detected any problems until the damage had been done. After months of chasing them for help with this situation, it turns out they didn't have the expertise on-staff to handle it (I wish they'd told me this outright instead of beating around the bush and playing phone tag endlessly). I ended up scrambling to find a different mason before winter hit. 2 stars because I do think they're good people who know modern structure, but were in over their heads in a century home.

We just recently had Don's Stove Shop install a new chimney in our home. The installers were amazing and they did a fantastic job. They were efficient and their work was impeccable. They were very respectful of our home and cleaned up so well you wouldn't even know they were there, accept for the new chimney. I highly recommend them!

Don and his crew are fast and friendly. My pellet stove stop working on Thanksgiving. I went in Tuesday to get a auger because thats what i thought it was i was wrong. They came over the next day . Found out it was the vacuum switch it fired right up and ran for 45 minutes. Next day a member of the team came back the exhaust temperature sensor went. Ran again for 45 minutes perfect. Because he's was busy a week past and a team member stop by twice to try different things. we talked a couple times by phone. We decided that they would just come get the stove and bring back to their shop to keep an eye on it full time. Will Friday to Tuesday and 3 weeks with out it working They fixed it. It was the hopper door sensor. Who would have thought of that. It's been in the house running for a little over a week now. Running perfect the heat is nice and my dog can lay in front of it with out a blanket on him now . Thanks so very much Don and crew.

Don's Stove Shop installed my pellet insert 6 years ago and has been providing me with exceptional service every since then. They are friendly, helpful, and professional. I recently had to have a minor repair and cleaning done, they showed up on time, did an excellent job, and charged me a reasonable price. My only regret is that they don't work on appliances, cars, or do home repairs because I would call them for that as well! Highly recommended, I have never regretted having dealt with them.

We purchased our pellet stove last summer (2014). This past very cold winter it has kept us very warm. Much easier and less expensive than our wood stove (with wood being around $300 a cord). The pellets are easy to handle, the stove easy to clean and very little ask. Don's installation crew were very helpful and polite even cleaning our chimney before installation. We recommend them without question.

What a wonderful experience!The pellet stove that came with the house that I purchased a few years ago ceased to function, not repairable. It had given me fair service for about five years. But being an out of state urban transplant, I remain a somewhat novice with pellet stoves, and many things country.While researching dealers and service for pellet stoves in the area I came upon Don's Stove and Chimney, and was impressed by the positive reviews that I read.I subsequently visited the business site in Livermore, and couldn't be more impressed with the patience, time and effort that was put into educating me.I made my decision , and the stove was installed a few weeks later. The installers were equally professional. They answered my questions, and made me feel at ease.As to the product itself, I couldn't be more happy.From purchase, to installation, and use, this has been a totally positive experience.

I bought a house in Livermore Falls in early January. The only heat source was a wood stove that was not installed properly and was not usable. Just love our Mt Vernon E2 Pellet Stove From Don's Stove Shop & Chimney Care. We have nothing but a positive experience from the day I walked into their shop in Livermore, Maine to the technicians who came to our house to measure to make sure the stove would fit. Our first experience with Don was a chimney inspection and cleaning. He found some problems with the chimney and suggested some remedies. Then we began looking to possibly purchase a pellet stove so we went to learn about them In Dec. 2012. My husband said we weren't buying anything that day--just learning. Don spent a long time educating us about the pellets and pellet stoves. The next thing you knew we were putting a deposit down and scheduling delivery and installation 2 days before Christmas. As luck would have it--the truck carrying our stove to Don's business broke down so Don didn't have the stove to install in the afternoon as planned. So Don came back in the evening once the stove got delivered to his business and installed the stove for us so we could have it for Christmas. You won't find anyone providing better business than we have found with Don! He has swept our chimney and cleaned our pellet stove each year as well. We love our pellet stove!

From the initial phone call to the actual visit, Don and his staff were extremely courteous and did an excellent job. They not only swept the chimney but they ran a video camera up it to do a detailed inspection which we were able to look at with them. Went to the local Jotul dealer in Farmington and was pretty much blown off. I went to Don's on the recommendation of a friend who has been dealing with Don for a number of years. Don's sent a tech out to inspect our chimney and general setup before he would sell us a stove. I like that attitude,as it shows me that Don is not only concerned with making a sale but is concerned that what he sells is installed safely. We ended up buying a Pacific Energy T5 and while it is a bit early to rate the stove, the installation and service so far from Don's has been first class and I will give my highest recommendation to them.
