Feeling a bit frustrated. I ordered ahead from Wards Neighborhood Market and arrived when the order should have been done only to find the staff were taking/ making new orders from customers that just walked in. I watched while several new arrivals placed their orders and received their orders... while I waited and they knew I was there... waiting. I was told, "Sorry, we got slammed. " Okay, but why are you not prioritizing orders? Why are newer orders being made before a prior order? When I go to a restaurant and place an order 30 min before the table next to me, I don't expect to have the other diner's food delivered first.I waited over an hour for 3 cold (not hot) sandwiches; 30 min of that time while standing in front of the counter as other customers walked up, put orders in, and received their orders. The clerk then tells me that the lady making my order is slow. If that's the case, he should help her not take new orders. I even let the clerk know I had to get to work and was now late. A frustrating experience overall.3 stars bec their food is always great with fresh ingredients.

Amazing selection of different meals, sandwiches, grilled & fried foods. Staff is always friendly and attentive. My only two complaints would be it takes an incredibly long time for food to be made, even without a line & I’ve never gotten olives on my italian (not sure if that’s just how they make them?) Otherwise it’s an awesome mom & pop store with all the amenities of a grocery store, butcher, sandwich shop & liquor store all in one!

Although every place in town has a no backpack policy, this is the first place to enforce it against me. I carry an IFAK in my bag and am not taking it off to shop at your store. I come here and pay the high prices specifically to support local business, but if the local business doesn't want me there it's no skin off my nose. Hannaford is cheaper.

Great people, best meat prices around, most deli items are made in house. Lots of variety and the owner leon is awesome to his customers as well to his employees. Wonderful place can't beat prices at the deli either.

Great variety, considering the fact that it's a small neighborhood grocer. Friendly staff. Deli has a lot of good food. Wheelchair accessible. Sometimes there's a wait but they usually clear out fairly quickly. Some things are a bit pricey, but they do have sales every week on a lot of the most popular items. Overall positive experience every time I go here. 10 out of 10.

Was in today looking for Pita pockets since Hannafords shelves for these were empty. Wards the same. A fine young grocery associate listened to what I was looking for and upon paying for my purchases he approached me to say he had spoken to his warehouse and was able to order 3 different types of pita's. These are a great alternative to bread or wraps for everything. Standing ovation for this attentive sole.

This place is the best to go for all your grocery needs if you live in the area. There is a special area in the back where they can make full meals for you! While waiting for your delicious food to cook, browse the great selection of groceries and other miscellaneous items. Checkout is a convenient process as you can pay for all your items all at once. I think more places should aspire to offer the experience this store provides!

It is really hard to believe how special the people are that work at Ward's -- especially Shane. I live out of town now and called this evening because I have something running in the (Lewiston) Sun Journal this Sunday -- I wanted to pick up some copies but can only get there Sat. (I'd heard that Ward's might get the Sun. paper the night before.) Shane answered the phone and couldn't get the information from anyone in the store, so he went so far as to text his boss! He even asked for my number in case his boss didn't get the text right away, so he could call me later with a response -- though as it turned out his boss did respond immediately. I could NOT believe the level of customer service and just plain kindness and caring Shane extended to me. A very special employee who I hope is acknowledged.

This Market has everything you need. The best part of this store is the people who work in side of it. You could not ask for any better service then these guys thay are funny and a complete joy to be around. I liked them so much I put an application in for a job to work there.

I love this place & so does my grandson.... He LOVES to go talk /play with the cashiers & pick out snacks..Everyone there is so nice & helpful.. They are always soo busy but they always seem to keep up & remain happy during these times, I recommend this place above any side stores around this location.Plus they offer a little of everything from prepared foods/made to order sandwiches, a meat counter with fresh meat, frozen section, household items, produce, ect. Its the all in one stop shop without having to travel to hannaford, walmart or Shaws..If you haven't had the opportunity to visit this store yet then I totally reccomend that you do....

So first I want to say that I love buying my meat from here and I will continue to do so. That being said I'm only giving 2 stars because the last time I ordered a meat package I was shorted on a pound of chicken thighs and 3/4 pound of ground chuck. A few orders before that they completely missed an item in my order. I understand things happen which is why I didn't complain until now. I used to live in Lewiston right around the corner but I moved to Monmouth and I continued to use them because their meat is fantastic and local. I'd rather support my local businesses so please have a talk with your meat department so this is addressed. I'll see you guys next month! 👋🙂

Great food, great staff. Owner can be kind of arrogant and stand offish with concerns and complaints. Prices and selections we're getting worse pot are slowly getting betterEdit :Manager did reach out to me about my review and was very approachable with some of the concerns that were previously listed he did explain that price Rises were due to suppliers not he him himself and that he is actually starting new sales and some of these sales are very cheap meats and very cheap deli food items like a steak and cheese sub I got today for only $2.50 very good deal and just the fact that the owner was willing to take the time to provide good customer service and talk to me about my feedback was really winning point

We love y'all...we really do. The service is friendly and the food consistent. What's stopping this from being 5 stars is the lack of consistency when ordering by phone. We live in the area, but sometimes ppl want to just pick food up. Please invest in 2 phones.

Occasionally stop in for meat specials whenever I travel near their store. Always has been a fine experience, pleasant atmosphere, friendly knowledgeable service, a chat or two with the neighborhood residents and an excellent selection of quality meats. The last trip in was status quo...Fresh lobster salad at a very good price, ground chuck, Lewiston sirloin, all very good. The store underwent a refresh with new flooring, new coolers and a new cash out area that looks a bit confusing at first, especially without product conveyor belts but if that arrangement works better for them then that's what's important for their day is spent working within that area. We, as customers, spend merely a few minutes cashing out. All in all an appealing refresh, quality products and pleasant folks who are helpful and know their stuff.

This is where I buy all of my meats. Their ground beef is excellent and prices are reasonable for a neighborhood market. The renovations to the store are refreshing and bright. I always am greeted and asked if I need assistance. I recommend liking them on FB to follow their excellent sales.

They are usually very nice and the ladies out back in the deli are sweethearts. But what I live the most is the quickness of the service when being cashed out! You guys are doing awesome keep it up! 😊🙃

I used to shop here religiously, but haven't been in months. I loved the fresh meat, competitive prices and the specials. But after numerous confrontations with employees, I stopped going. I carry a fanny pack and backpack with me wherever I go. It has necessities in it (medical as well as some personal items). I also have a $300 pair of wireless headphones as well as a $200 tablet and charging cables. Whenever I would enter the store, an employee would rudely insist I leave my backpack out front. My issue isn't with the rudeness, that's typical of most of Ward's employees. My issue is that they tell me to leave it out front BUT won't take responsibility should something happen to it. If they have such a problem with shoplifting, how about investing in cameras? Is the owner that greedy? You can't tell me its too expensive, if it prevents loss of profit from shoplifting. Not only that, but I have offered to let them see inside my backpack when I enter and when I leave. I have nothing to hide. But they won't. Why not? If you are going to assume I will steal, why not pat me down too? I do NOT have this issue at ANY other store including local convenience stores. To make matters worse, I have seen senior citizens walk in with shopping bags and such just as big as my backpack. Even women with large purses. Why aren't they asked to leave things out front? I don't appreciate being singled out and if I cared enough about shopping there I'd have filed a complaint with the state. But instead, I just bring my business elsewhere. I have a friend who I help with her shopping and she liked to go there too. But I told her I won't go there anymore. She's not happy about it and even asked me to go again the other day and I told her to ask someone else. She doesn't have anyone else and I will NOT give ANY business to bigots. So Ward's has actually lost TWO regular customers. Its really a shame the owner is such a freaking bigot. They don't want the public to think they search old ladies, but a middle aged white man must be a thief. So is it about shoplifting? Really? Or is it profiling. I could be a real dick and refuse to leave it there and dare them to call the cops. I'd LOVE to see that explained in the press. But it ain't worth the effort. Its a shame, really. They have some great items at great prices. But my integrity and dignity cannot be bought. I liked it MUCH better before this Leon jerk bought it.
