I really love Pet Life, and am a regular at the Lewiston store. After about the third visit, they seemed to remember me and regularly alert me to special deals on the things I buy most whenever I visit. I'm not local to the store, but it's the closest Pet Life to me.The self-serve dog wash is amazing. We've used them all over the state of Maine for our German Shepherds because we train them in Southern Maine every weekend. I bring my own grooming products because I prefer Eqyss products and they don't sell them, but the convenience of the tall tubs you can stand while you wash is pretty fabulous. I try to clean up after myself as much as possible and have been told that a lot of people don't make the same kind of effort. I think that's disappointing. Great people work at these stores and the convenience of the VERY affordable do-it-yourself wash shouldn't be rewarded with a mess for them to clean up.Just my two cents, for what it's worth.

I was really surprised by the amount of quality products and the amazing customer service. Petco has been out of the special food my cat needs so I decided to stop by loyal companion and they had exactly what I needed! I will definitely he going back for food and supplies

The service there was exceptional for my first time there with my fur baby zeus. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name but he was the only one working and was extremely helpful and kind and gave zeus treats while I shopped. The selection was all I needed and he had advice on brands and helpful hints and knowledge for a new pet owner like myself. Definitely plan to be visiting again. Glad zeus was able to come in, make a new friend and pick out his new favorite chew toy.

Wonderful location with friendly, helpful staff! Had my hands full with a big order and they helped me to the car. Tucked away in a little corner of the Lewiston Shaws Plaza, a hidden gem, highly recommend!

I've shopped for my dog and cats at Loyal Companion ever since the store became LOYAL COMPANION...BECAUSE: they are so very hospitable when I walk in the door, they KNOW their products, and they are so very helpful! Couple that with great pricing, and we've got great products with great bonus points available, too! CAN you say SAVINGS! Excellent selection of premium dog foods. Great, friendly employees who know their stuff! Edit: January 2017. Unfortunately, I have to agree with other reviewers who have had trouble with pricing issues. I find they do not clearly mark the product prices, and today I found that I was not given the sale price on some Orijen Dog Food, although the sale sticker was directly below the stack of food that I took my two bags from. I hate to stop shopping there, as they have a great selection of high quality foods, but may have to change my shopping habits.

Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff! I’m always happy when I leave there. Very knowledgeable and sweet. I would buy my cat food there if I could, however my cat will only eat Friskies. When I rescued her, I asked the staff there for suggestions to ween her off, and they helped every single week! Unfortunately it didn’t work, she’s very stubborn child, however the staff were wonderful and patient with me and answered all of my questions! I am pet sitting two ferrets as well and they always have the food and litter I need in stock. Great store.

Since day one, well over a year ago my partner and I discovered this hidden gem, LOYAL COMPANION! The first time entering the store it is very clean and well kept up, but what really got us hooked was the amazing staff. They always have a swift answer for any questions about products they sell, they're so compassionate, and always looking out for your fur babies best interest. At this point they are like our family. Our baby boy courage has grown knowing them as.. auntie Desire, Savannah ,and Uncle Brian . He has known them since he was five weeks old, and the best part of his week is going to see them! (and hes not alone) Desire has made such an impact on us, she is so knowledgable , and gets right on the ground to greet Courage, if it was not for her, I feel he would not have the amazing social skills he has today. Desire is always making sure we get the best deals (we are a multi pet family ) and always comes up with the most creative ideas when our picky dogs refuse to eat .. We are SO blessed to have loyal companion in our city, and even more blessed to have desire, and savannah as the staff there , we would be completely lost without these girls !! Thank you loyal companion for impacting our lives in such a positive way, and most importantly our pets lives ! Not quite sure what we would do without you all, you have set the standard so high, we refuse to go elsewhere , we look forward to many more years of visits with this staff 🐾❤

I had never been to the Pet Life in Auburn, I live by the Portland one but I was in the area for an event and needed a specific dog food. As soon as I walked in the manager asked if he could help find anything. He was super helpful and the clerk behind the counter was very pleasant as well...he even said thank you and have a nice day (which btw seems to be lost on most businesses now a days). Great customer service and the place was spotless.

Although I love this store because it's pet friendly and you're able to bring your animal in with you, for me it's just a bit too pricey. Staff was excellent we were greeted upon coming in and they were extremely friendly with both my dog and my children. They were extremely helpful when it came to being educated on and trying to choose and find what I was looking for, as I said above my only complaint is the price points.... I ultimately swap to Walmart and I'm getting the same products that they sell here for a much lower price.

I can not speak highly enough about the staff at Lewiston. They have been so patient with me, and have taken time to answer all of the silly food questions I have had. With Tyler, Sarah, and David's help, I have been able to get my kitten onto much healthier food, and I couldn't be more thankful!! They have also been fantastic with returns. If you are trying to transition a pet onto new food, this is the place to go. I love to support local, and with Petlife being the only place that carries the high quality food, I will continue to be a customer for life!!!

I buy for both my snake and cat here. Their frozen rats are clean and high quality. They hace a decent variety of useful and well priced reptile supplies. Their cat food is a little more expensive than at grocery stores but they have good, healthy brands. I especially appreciate that they have at least one employee that is knowledgeable about reptiles, as this is sorely lacking at most pet stores.

I went into this pet store to find new things for my puppy because I had just moved from vermont. Everyone in the store was super helpful and very diligent on helping me find what my puppy was looking for without pushing unwanted products on me. They also took the time to check the back of each flea and tick product to see if they were safe on puppies. With my purchase they also included two goodie bags for my puppy that included treats and toys for her. I am super happy with my shopping experience and will be making this the only store I go to for my animals needs!!

I have been to many pet stores, had many of pets, all shapes and sizes; never have I met someone like Sarah at a pet store who is so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I will continue my business with pet life as long as they continue to hire and employ people like her. I have taken on a bearded dragon, she helped me through caring for him, I have an elderly chihuahua she helped me with his food needs. I am so over the top with the customer service she has provided I don’t want to go anywhere else. Thank you!

Staff is very helpful. Brought my new puppy in to find a harness and they helped my size one and correctly fit it for her. Also helped me locate cat food with specific dietary restrictions.

A great pet store, the staff is friendly and eager to assist you, no matter your pet, I enjoy asking a lot of questions and having a nice friendly chat with the staff about my kitties, food, toys, litter and even how to clip their nails. Always such a pleasure visiting this store in Auburn Maine.

Went in with my wife to have her pick out new fish for the tank, a woman was stocking near the fish and let her know we needed some. She let us know that a certain bay was in quarantine and just walked out front. We waited about 10 minutes for help. My wife went out front and walked up to her to get her attention and the employee walked right by her to help someone behind her that literally just walked in the door. So my wife frustratingly returned back to me by the tanks. There was also a gentleman unpacking boxes and continued to watch us wait with out making any attempt to help. Then over 15 minutes passed waiting for assistance. Then again we went to get the female employee's attention and asked her for help again to get the fish and she hesitated and said "sure...". At that point, that was enough, and we walked out. Never felt more like our business was an "inconvenience" to them.

Customer satisfaction is a plus here. They contain a large selection of pet supplies including the odds and ends like pet weighted jackets and stuff like that. Prices are a little high, but not out of the question.

I am a first time dog owner. I went to Petlife, and they took the time to answer my silly questions and understand my concerns. I would go religiously 2 times a week. I now am grateful to have a job there. I've learned a lot. Petlife has some of the best customer service philosophies. Every food they sell has to meet certain criteria, if it doesnt, they dont sell it. We don't price match because we aren't a huge corporation. We are constantly getting new products in to meet the needs of our customers, so yes sometimes prices can get off because of changing merch. I would recommend going to a Petlife location if you want to go to a friendly environment with people who really know and care about what they sell. This isn't "just a job", it's what we love and strive for. I've never worked for a better company before, who cares about their customers and customer relationships. Everyone has a bad day, don't hold it against them, give us a second shot. We wont let you down. :)

Went to buy cat food ... the signage said one price and it rang up different. I pointed out the sign and they still refused to honor it. I was told by Tyler they moved locations and things arent in order. It was only a $2 difference.The kids working there couldnt care less about your business. I wasn't greeted or asked if I needed help or was anyone even friendly.Petco is always friendly and helpful and thier food is always less expensive (petco also price matches) I always try to give my money to small businesses but this one doesn't deserve it!!
