Tasty and delicious home cooked meals. A regional favorite for sure. If you have room for dessert it's certainly worth it! I would have liked more selections of veggies for sides rather than just the 'veggie of the day' (carrots, GR beans, etc) because the open faced turkey sandwich seems like a missed opportunity for a full meal. Overall a tasty meal though.

Food is great with reasonable prices and daily specials.Staff is great and prompt.Atmosphere isn’t a 5star, but is decent. Not fancy but good for children.Order the “federal deficit “ if you have room left! Best for at least four people LOL but really, ALL their desserts are fantastic! Highly recommend.

My friend and I enjoyed having a treat there. We had ice cream Sundays. They were really good. They were a really good size too. I was very happy that the train was turned off after a bit. It was a pain because it made a lot of noise when it came close to us. I still recommend going there.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps to get in. There are a couple of doors to open. There is enough room to move around.

Please read all.I love Governors Restaurant in Lewiston, been going there for over 20 years, but after today's lunch I may not be back. Just shy of $90.00 with tip and the meal was terrible. 3 of us got grilled cheese sandwiches (looked like Kraft singles) not real cheese, the cheese wasn' t even melted, looked as if the bread was just flipped to brown on the grill. The fries were great, but the famous onion rings were almost a full plate of fried onion middles, looked like I ordered chicken nuggets or haddock bites. I was pleased to see a nice new menu with gluten free and vegetarian options. And even with the disappointment of the meal, their desserts never disappoint. The staff was kind and attentive. But when we were seated there was visible food under our table. I am not writing this to deter people from visiting, like I stated before I have loved Governors for years. I am writing this as a reminder to Governors that many families these days don't have a lot of extras, but like to have a special day or night out with their family. Every patron should get your best. This lunch was such a disappointment and such a terrible waste of our money.

This place used to be great, but now it seems like all of the food is just reheated frozen food. The service was very good and the dessert was excellent, but the entrees left a lot to be desired.

Phenomenal food! I got the three cheese burger sliders, and my husband got the cheese burger and Frank. Great food, husband said we will be coming back very soon. Cant wait to try the baked ham dinner, it looks great too. We got both our meals and two fountain drink for 25 dollars, definetly worth it. Also great because they are kid friendly.

Went here twice in 4 days. They were great as always. Our servers were Lacey and Mathew, both excellent, friendly, mind, and considerate. Being on the road with 2 young boys and having competent and patient serving staff makes all the difference. On my way out, I made sure to impart my appreciation and admiration to the GM Troy (also incredibly friendly and kind) so that he would know the impact his staff made on our travel.The Lewiston Govs will now be our halfway stop on trips to northern Maine. The food is dependably good, the atmosphere calm, and the service friendly and fast. Thanks again to the entire team for being great in your field.

Great dishes and amount of food for the prices. Great customer service I have been going here for 20 years. And the desserts are huge and delicious.Vegetarian options: There's not a lot of vegetarian options but there are salads and they can create something to fit your needs.Parking: Parking is fine when it's odd hours. But during dinner hours when it's busy it gets crowded because it is diagonal parking on both sides. They need a larger parking area.Kid-friendliness: Governor's is very kid friendly! They do a lot of activities and events for children during the holidays.Wheelchair accessibility: They do have wheelchair accessibility

Excellent service, in respect to both timeliness and congeniality. Decent prices, average and mostly fair for the portions. Food is hit or miss on the main courses, but the (kind of pricey) desserts are excellent. Where Governor's stands out is the regular specials it runs on certain days of the week. Sundays and Wednesdays are family favorites for us.

If you're looking for some quality, home-cooked, soul food look no further! Governors has amazing fried food and the breakfast buffet is to die for! One of my favorite dishes there is the meatloaf with the Tomato glaze - I has an amazing flavor. My husband loves the seafood platter (pictured). The prices are reasonable and the portions are big... they have the most amazing dessert selection and I guarantee you're going to want to bring something home for later. The peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are amazing! If you've never checked out Governor's, I highly recommend it!
