I see that a lot of people are frustrated with the pharmacy, but I've never had a problem. In fact, there was a funding problem (with a prescription savings card for a $2000 medication) and they worked really hard to try to fix it and went out of their way to help. They are probably understaffed, but everywhere else is too. Can't blame them for that. Please people, have a little empathy for your fellow man. You can definitely see that they are doing their best.

I'd give you no star if possible. Pharmacy is an absolute joke. Always a half hour wait to get your medicine. Gladly will hand you painkillers without ID for someone else as long as you know they're birthday, phone number, or address but won't fill your own prescription that is two days early technically because your doctor doubled the amount the day after you picked them up.

I had scheduled a vaccine appointment, the first one of the day. I was the only person in the waiting area and waited 30 minutes while the vaccine administrator got settled in with coffee and a snack. A similar wait occurred last year for a vaccine. I spoke with the manager who apologized. The vaccine administrator offered no apology, only a vacant stare, her hands wrapped around a coffee jug. Indifference.

For my first time at the Kittery Walgreens, I waited in line for 30 minutes to pick up a prescription —but figured it was a one off. The next time I used kittery walgreens I quickly understood that a 30 minute wait was the norm.

I can certainly understand the frustration people feel regarding the pharmacy, but to lambast that aspect without understanding how most pharmacists have been treated during the pandemic just shows me how little compassion and empathy is present. Covid 19 really distrupted a system that was already delicate and most places were hurting for good help anyway, when the pandemic was raging a lot of pharmacies found themselves scrambling to make sure they had sufficient staff as most got burned out pretty quickly. So of course now you will find that the staff is untrained, tired, and overwhelmed. This obviously fails both the consumer and the company. I'm not defending the rude actions by the staff by any means, rather, to shed a little light on how most corporations have been affected by the pandemic and how that has also affected the services rendered. Are some pharmacists better than others? Absolutely. Do some Walgreens possess a better understanding and treatment of their employees? Most definitely. To quote a favorite Saturday Night Live sketch of mine, "there's 100 floors of frights - they ain't all gonna be winners."Other than that, this store is pretty good and has what I need. Can't complain about the prices, just try to get in and get out before it gets too busy.

If I could give these unprofessional ridiculous people negative stars I would. First of all these pharmacists are the most rude and ignorant people I’ve ever had to deal with. They do NOT care about your privacy at all and will not respect it. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, they always have plenty of staff at the pharmacy but I’ve waited in line for an hour more times than I can count. As any customer service worker would know, you’re supposed to ask other customers to please wait and have a seat until their service is ready. These pharmacists don’t seem to grasp that at all. They let people cut in line without saying anything and they leave you on hold on their phones for over a half hour. I’ve been on hold before for over an hour. It’s not first come first serve at a pharmacy. If your script is ready it’s ready and any pharmacist should know how to call a name and at the very least be organized. It’s simple if someone’s script isn’t ready, tell them to wait and help the next person in line so you can swiftly sift through. Unfortunately before you even leave the house you have to call them to get them to fill your script no matter how long it’s been sitting there. They are so unorganized and ignorant and straight up rude that I’m concerned they would actually mess up a script and give you something lethal. Never again will I use them. I’ve had scripts that were ready to be filled for nearly a week, yet still I have to call them ahead to get these idiots to do their job. Don’t even bother here. Walk away and use any other pharmacy.

I did a curbside pick up for a few items since I was having a lot of foot pain. The girl who brought out my order didn’t realize my passenger side window was open and could be heard saying in a sarcastic tone “I just love lazy customers “. Really?!!! I will do whatever I can to not give any more of my business to this store!

I have been a regular customer in this store since the Osco days. I have never had a cashier be so rude as the one that was there on Monday July 17th. He was an older man, tall, thin, brown hair, glasses with a mustache. I was waiting by the photo counter, I saw he was busy and had no problem waiting. A lady had a carriage of items and told him he could wait on me first. The cashier asked what I needed, I told him I was picking up photos, he very rudely in a loud voice said I needed to get in line like everybody else. There was nothing to let me know this. No sign saying I had to be in line. I did not deserve to be spoken to in front of customers the way he spoke to me. I am thinking of changing my go to store.

The pharmacy is desperately understaffed. The service, as a result, is abhorrent. Prescriptions regularly take over a day to fill. If you go into the pharmacy to try and get your prescription same-day, you will be addressed rudely, be told the wait is 15 minutes, and get your prescription after waiting for over an hour. The rude service is really what pushed me to leave this review, it’s simply not necessary to make rude comments to customers who are already inconvenienced by excessive wait times. Being understaffed is out of their control, being rude and disrespectful is not.

Do not go here for your prescription drugs. The Pharmacy is dangerously understaffed and overworked. Medicines are constantly not being filled on time, folks get calls to pick up scripts and then are told they aren't ready, and the Pharmacy never actually called, and more importantly ERRORS are being made in filling scripts (wrong dose, wrong medicine, etc.)Nobody expects a place to be perfect (we are all human), but when every week there's another community thread about how screwed up the Pharmacy is, and when a massive percent of a towns population independently switch pharmacies (as is happening) something has to give. These issues have persisted for too long to be the product of circumstance rather than choice. Walgreens is choosing dollars over the well-being and safety of Kittery's residents. Protect yourself by choosing a pharmacy that is interested in staffing so they may fill prescriptions safely and accurately.

I tried to get a single prescription moved from my traditional Walgreens to this one for a trip. After not being able to contact anyone on the phone, I went into the store and spoke to a member of the pharmacy staff about getting it moved. After giving them all the information and told it would be ready the next day, I called the next day after not hearing anything, and had to restart the process and they had clearly not started the correct process. After re explaining my situation, they informed me I would have to wait an additional two days, which was too long. After trying to blame insurance for the delay, they sent me off to call other Walgreens in the area to have it filled. Don't use this pharmacy, use one anywhere else but here.

First time customer and had an absolutely horrible experience at this Walgreens... specifically the pharmacy department. I can't go into much detail, for privacy reasons, but the way my situation was handled -- and the way I was treated -- was inappropriate at best and unethical at worst. I realize they're extremely busy and understaffed and stressed out, and I feel bad for them, but that is no excuse for how I was treated and I will be contacting the state about it. I'm giving this review two stars rather than one star because the young woman at the pharmacy cash register (pharmacy assistant?) was very kind and was simply doing what she was told to do.

They’ve gone downhill big time. All new employees at the pharmacy. I came in 3 times for one prescription. It was incomplete. Because of the bad timing insurance wouldn’t cover it so I paid $55 for a $5 prescription. Very bad.Update. No improvement. A couple days ago I had to return twice for a prescription because they didn’t print out the sheet for the pharmacist. Now TODAY they told me to come back in an hour. An hour and 20 minutes later I returned and they said it had gotten canceled in the computer. So I have to go back AGAIN for 3rd time. It’s really ridiculous.

Shut this place down. I waited 3 weeks for them to even update me that they were out of a prescription and had no plans to get in back in stock. Originally they said, oh you can’t refill that prescription on the app, which was a lie because I had done it previously. When I asked if another Walgreens had my meds in stock, they didn’t know and didn’t bother to check. NOW I have been waiting for a health-necessary prescription for almost a week. Every time you try to call, you spend 30+ minutes on hold just to have someone hang up on you because they’re too busy. I just tried to go in to cancel it altogether so Rite Aid can fill it, and SURPRISE, the pharmacy is closed for no reason all day.A pharmacy is meant to help you with your health, not make it worse and deprive you of necessary medication.

The pharmacy is painfully slow and cannot seem to get my scripts correct. I've been here 40 minutes and they filled the wrong one. It is like this every time!

If I could do half a star I would. I don't know what has happened since Walgreens took over, but nothing good. Can't get through to a person, waiting on hold for up to an hour, not getting questions answered, being yelled at, then telling them not to fill a prescription because of the ridiculous expense and getting an email saying my prescription is ready. I have tried to hang in there because it's been my pharmacy for 40 years and several owners. No more I am switching.

Had questions for the pharmacist about a medication, tried several days to call always a waiting line just sat for 53 minutes on my cell phone on hold and in the meantime I have my landline and that was 25 minutes with no answer a waste of my time... Maybe time to switch to CVS

This store has been consistently unreliable; I waited on the phone 36 minutes to talk with a pharmacist to see what the status of the prescriptions were and no one ever picked up. Drove to the store and waited another 50 minutes in line for them to not have our medications. ( while in that entire time no one ever picked up the phone)Always a run around at this store; do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.Understaffed and overpriced.

My children are now out of their medication because this Walgreens can't get their life together. We got a call saying prescriptions were ready for pickup. My wife went to go pick them up and they were closed until the afternoon. She went back in the afternoon and she was told the medications weren't ready yet and to come back tomorrow. She returns the next day and guess what? They were closed again. This place is hot garbage. Use a different pharmacy if you can.

I moved here recently and after reading the reviews decided not to use this pharmacy, so my review has nothing to do with that. The rest of the store is nice. The clerks at the front of the store have always been kind to me. There are two older gentlemen working there that I think are great.

I was having difficulty getting a prescription filled at our normal pharmacy. They called here and said they had a smaller dosage and could order the rest later so I could have some for that day. I waited three hours and went to pick up the script with my baby and young son. I had to wait 5 minutes to 10 minutes at the drive through while the drive through staff helped another customer on the phone. There was another employee at the other desk not visibly busy or helping a customer. Then he told me they didn't have my prescription in stock after spending about 5 minutes on the insurance information. I explained that it was called over today and that they have a smaller dosage. He said "oh, would you like the smaller dosage?". I said yes. So I have two kids in the back, whining about sitting in their car seats not moving for about 15 minutes, and the person comes back to ask me to pull forward so he can help the next customer, and then he will prepare my order. Disorganized, and not very expedient. I will not return.

Got a message that my presciption was ready. Went to pick up 2 hours later. Not only was it NOT ready, the emplyee bit my head off when I said that I had received the call. This was the last in a long list of disappointing experiences for me. Been shopping and getting prescriptions here since 1982. Not anymore

Man I really used to love this pharmacy. The staff was great - very well trained and always polite. That being said, It wouldn’t hurt to train your techs properly to set them up for success.I whole-heartedly believe this pharmacy will eventually shut down at no one’s fault but the company itself.Shame on you, Walgreens. Greed above service at its finest.

Terrible. The lack of communication for starters. Waited 8 days for a common prescription I’ve taken for over 7 years, and each day was told it will be ready tomorrow. Would call, to be put on hold for over 2 hours (this happened more than three times, third time I walked to the pharmacy to find they weren’t even open… on a Wednesday before noon.) I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed anything online, but the people and service provided here are terrible. Literally should be illegal for this place to claim to be a pharmacy. Teresa Burns was one of the pharmacist that was of absolutely no help. Only reason I waited 8 days and not more is because I had my prescription called in elsewhere.

Druggist was rude, condescending, and was grossly wrong about company policy regarding supplemental insurance. Women were great but couldn't get past him. Wrote CEO, no reply. Druggist told me it would take a week or 'maybe a little longer' to refund a co-pay he should not have kept. It is now 3 months and they haven't refunded it yet. District manager said druggist was wrong and he would release it. Two weeks later he now says it takes 6-8 weeks! You cannot trust anything they say. Five-six weeks to get a refund for something they should not have taken in the first place is outrageous, and the management apathy at all levels is the reason why. Even Medicare and the IG don't care. They received the supplemental payment on 5 May, and now are holding my $50 and United Health Care's $50 and still will not refund my $50! for at least 2 more months. Go to Rite Aid or CVS!

Pharmacy is a joke, two weeks trying to get a medication thats life or death. The store manager is incompetent and if you say anything he doesn’t like he hangs up on you and cries about how he’s the victim. Doesnt want to get out of his seat for anything. Awful. Reporting to state others should as well, they don’t deserve licensing

The staff here offer some of the most compassionate customer service that I have seen in a pharmacy. This started when they were a rite aid and continues on today! I can't say enough about Mike the manager or Brook one of the pharmacists and all of the technicians that work behind the scenes who's names all escape me at the moment. They are endearing to the end. And yes the transition from rite aid to Walgreens was very hard these folks should be forever commended! Unfortunately now that my insurance has lapsed Walgreens is four times the cost on my medications that other pharmacies thru the GoodRX type programs so I can't afford to continue using them anymore. Sincerely, Mike Howell

There certainly are some friendly staff here, and I’ve never had a problem in the store - my issues have always been with the pharmacy. I used this pharmacy for years and never had an issue until Walgreens took over (used to be a rite aid). Every single time they act like you’ve never been there before, or you don’t exist in the system, or you don’t have insurance and never had insurance. It usually takes 5 minutes of back and forth before they figure it out, but yep, I was there all along and my prescription is ready. There are some friendly faces in the pharmacy, though (except for one older woman who does not seem to like her job), it’s like they weren’t trained properly or the Walgreens system itself stinks. While waiting in line I’ve seen many people have similar problems, it’s become a bit of a joke now. Needless to say, I drive to the York Hannaford now.

Pharmacy told me yesterday that they couldn't full my prescription because they didn't have enough, ensured me they would have them today though. Called today, no they didn't come in, now they expect me to wait until Tuesday to be able to fill. This is probably the third or fourth time they've pulled this on me. I'll never use anything walgreens again. They were better as rite aid.
