The best vet I have ever been too. So greatful for our dogs going to a good vet. They also have dogs for adoption!

We adopted these 2 sweet kitties 2 weeks apart. Each time the shelter staff was so helpful and kind. They let us take our time with the cats and told us everything we needed to know about them. Both cats were neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. We feel fortunate to have these guys in our lives and grateful to the staff that helped us find them!

We adopted our dog Astro in 2013 and it was the best experience. Everyone was helpful and kind. The facility is clean and well kept. We stop in often to drop off goodies and food etc. They always greet us with a happy hello! We would highly recommend them as a place to trust to adopt from. 🌈 He crossed the rainbow bridge in November and we will miss him tremendously! He was the best!! ❤

My friends were looking to find a safe space to take care of their dog because they felt that they couldn't give her the life she deserved and this shelter told them their best option was to euthanize her. This dog is precious and beautiful and I dont think it is appropriate for an animal shelter to suggest KILLING a dog because of minor behavioral issues. She hasn't harmed anyone, the most she's done is growl and get nippy. But even so, I don't believe killing an animal for have a fear based reaction is fair. They have feelings and they have a right to life.

Two older kitty cats picked me out last Saturday. Miss Maude, Mr. Bailey. They are settling in well. The AWS folks were helpful, patient and thorough. I may return for a couple younger ones.

A fantastic shelter! The staff is wonderful here and care a lot about these animals. We got our dog KK here in 2011, and she’s now 13. We came back today for a friend to look at a puppy they had, which they also adopted! I always recommend this shelter.

Animal Welfare Society, I give five stars. The Animal Welfare Society is located in West Kennebunk Maine. The Animal Welfare Society does really good work finding homes for homeless animals dogs and cats birds and more. They have a friendly helpful staff and the animal welfare Society keeps their place really clean and looking really good. I know someone that picked up a parakeet at the Animal Welfare Society and really loves the bird. And I heard other people say that they picked up a dog or a cat at the Animal Welfare Society in loves their pets to. The Animal Welfare Society has a great group of volunteers that come in and help on many things I say thumbs up and thank you for your good work. Again I give the Animal Welfare Society, five stars and all the wonderful volunteers two.

We adopted or Dixie girl from AWS in 2017 and the process and staff were amazing!We called them for vetting, referrals and second opinion on our vet records many times in between the they called us back in an extremely fast manor, and the veterinarians were all amazing and so knowledgeable.We have brought our non-shelter dogs there for spay and neuter services, in which the care was exceptional!Thank you AWS for all you do!

I volunteer at this shelter almost weekly and I absolutely love it! Before and after the recently completed renovations, it has been a great place to volunteer and visit! The staff are kind and nice, particularly the Volunteer Director Rachel, who has always helped me out and given me something to do!I greatly recommend anyone interested to visit this place and spend time with the animals here! And the people definitely don't bite. :)

Got my cat fixed here last Wednesday. Very professional, my cat left happy and has not had any issues since. Provided spay, distemper, rabies, nail clip and a complimentary tube of Revolution. The cheapest in the area. Highly recommend AWS in Kennebunk!

The staff here is truly amazing. They helped us find a dog that works best with our family, and allowed us to come back every day until we were able to take the pup home. Staff were very accommodating and clearly cared for the animals there. They were able to provide a lot of knowledge on each animal and what will be best for them.

I Love this place my cat was not feeling well didn't have lots of money to give the vets around here my cat is my family they really went above and beyond to help my cat I really appreciated there kindness I highly recommend this place. It's the best. And Thank you my cat is doing just fine will bring him back again soon for check up

Very caring people. 25% discount if you are retired, or on disability. Meds are very reasonable. They are very busy, and can be hard to get appointment, but worth the wait. Easy to find, and clean.
