I saw this establishment featured on Maine Street Saturday (WCSH 6) and vowed to check it out if I was ever in the Jefferson, Maine area. How fortuitous to have been in the region lately and stopped in for lunch. The market/general store offers breakfast, lunch, freshly made pizzas, salads, and classic favs like reubens, wraps, quesadillas, BLTs and grilled cheese. I ordered the Fire & Rescue consisting of freshly grilled buffalo chicken, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella/cheddar blend, & ranch on a toasted sub roll ($12.50). This sandwich was MASSIVE, shareable for sure!! This sandwich was expertly executed and an absolute FLAVOR BOMB!! The sandwich contained a huge amount of juicy grilled chicken with homemade buffalo sauce.Yum!!The general store features sundry items, including camping essentials, snacks, drinks and so many other necessities for the community. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance quintessential Maine. This was a great overall experience. This is a must visit if in the Jefferson area. I cannot wait to return!!

Jefferson Market & General Store is the only eatery accessible by boat on Damariscotta Lake. Great food and a friendly crew. A fun destination when you’re out for a day on the water!

Have been wanting to check out this place. We ordered a sandwich to split and good thing we did that was one amazingly full sandwich! And today was the perfect place to sit outside on their deck and enjoy the foliage. Go there you won't be disappointed

Only had time to take a picture of half the sandwich because I could not wait, the other half was so delicious!This is by far the best Philly style sandwich in the land! It is consistent and delicious and filling and a great value at only about 10 bucks. Obviously he doesn't Skip on the filling. It's probably a good thing that I don't get here more often but it is worth the trip when we do.

This would be 5 stars, if I didn't get to be dragged in to the rudeness by my MOM. She placed phone call for her own order. Some things are best left unsaid to me/customer... who wasnt rude. Especially to an outside person who was NOT involved in this conversation. Don't serve her food. Her actions are not my actions.I placed an order. I was respectful on the phone and when I picked up order. We wanted a burger that didn't look or taste like, a perfect circle frozen patty. Like some other places use. It was absolutely delicious. Their rueben was so good. Not skimpy on any of the ingredients used to make it. Will eat here again. I was so embarrassed. My 2nd visit in store. I really enjoy all the different crafts & other items. I wanted to run as fast as I could. Had to pay first

Really like and appreciate this store. Go there often for meals and wine. They're sandwiches and pizza are very good. As they say.....I highly recommend this place!

Came here to grab some food on the way up to go camping. I got the Philly cheesesteak which was , dare I say, the best I've had in maine. We also enjoyed a grilled cheese and some local sodas. The staff was pleasant and the store was clean and stocked with local baked goods and trinkets. We can't wait to come back

There are new owners. Redid the whole place. Quite quaint and lovely. Beautiful wood throughout. Food was fresh and delicious. Best grilled cheese I’ve ever had! Borealis bread, high quality cheese, tomato, and local mustard. Owners are great people. Enjoyed the deck looking over the inlet to the lake.

Very fresh food! They're very friendly, courteous and professional. The prices are about average. They carry Little Lads goods and Shains of Maine ice cream, both of which I love. I haven't tried their breakfast yet but all of the salads, hot and cold sandwiches are delicious so I am willing to bet breakfast is as well. All they are "missing" in my opinion is pizza. If you get a chance, stop by and try them out and buy some of their reusable shopping bags. I have 4 already and they are much better quality than any you get at grocery stores.

New owners have created a delightful spot for lunch and “provisions” :) The Reuben sandwiches are off the charts delicious, but we also enjoyed outstanding burgers and cheesesteaks - and we are from Philly ! Will 100% be back whenever in the area. Loved watching the boaters pull up to the picturesque dock. If you are at Lake Damariscotta you will want to drop in.

Four of us had lunch today. Ruebens we’re on par to the best of Manhattan Delis. Friendly and fast service. Very clean pleasant environment. Open tables overlooking the water. Highly recommend this place.

The service is good and it has a great atmosphere. They have improved a lot on quantity of and quality with their food. As well as labeling the prices. They still have a few little things you could nit pick at if you really want to go in depth, but it is honestly a pretty great store. In any case, I feel as it has been their first year, they will only get better in the next coming years.

This new general store on Route 32 in Jefferson, Maine is a wonderful place to stop for coffee, treats, breakfast, or a sandwich. The store was bought and renoated by new owners during Covid and is totally refurbished with pleasant decor, and a public restroom. You can drive up with your vehicle, or boat or paddle up in your kayak from Damariscotta Lake and dock behind the store on Davis Stream. They have everything from milk, eggs, and toilet paper to ice cream, beer, wine, and bait! And while you are shopping or dining, you can peruse the local artwork on the walls.

This is a cool place now I went up to Jefferson to see my family and this new redoing of the place is lovely and the sandwich (BLT) I bought here was delicious. Next time I visit I will be sure to stop here again.

The store is like always empty, the women to works there is always telling people how they should live there life. Anyone gets ciggs she tells them that they are not supposed to buy them. Some of the candy is really old. But when the other people are working it's nice, quick and convenient.

Food is ok when they have it......I have called down a lot and was told I couldn't get a pizza because they didn't have dough....WHAT.....really the food in the store are dusty and out dated.this place is going down hill fast....I don't recommend this place anymore.go into waldoboro for what you are looking for....
