Nicole is a skilled instructor, able to read dogs (and their people!) and meet them where they're at. My dog and I have taken two 6 week sessions of agility classes so far and had so much fun! Every dog in both classes came with their own unique strengths and weaknesses and I think she does a great job of coaching people through the tough spots. It's amazing how much they can learn and grow in such a short amount of time.My dog can be particularly challenging in group settings and she worked with me to both make sure we felt welcomed, and other class members felt comfortable. There aren't very many +R trainers in central Maine and I'm so glad we found Gentle Canine Fitness and Training.

Excellent puppy class. Nicole knows her stuff, and was able to impart her knowledge in a clear and concise way. She explained what she was recognizing from the dog's body language and how it would impact training them. We started with about a 5 min meet and greet for the puppies. We then switched to training mode for about 40 minutes. She covered a lot of ground; such as keeping your dog's attention, experiencing new things- such as velcro, and agility equipment, and tips on how to prevent jumping. I plan on taking may more classes from her!

Gentle Canine is an amazing training center due to the talented trainer, Nicole. I have had private sessions and classes and she has helped to transform my skittish australian shepard into a more confident dog in new settings. We continue to work with her.

Nicole is amazing! our pup has some serious trauma/anxiety/fear behaviors. Nicole has been beyond patient and is super tuned in to our pup. Her framework is so far from that alpha/blind obedience/use of force theories that never made sense to me and certainly didn’t work for our pup and we have learned so much about how to support our pup outside of training sessions too! We have a ways to go but we are so grateful to have such a patient and wise trainer on our team. Highly recommend!

Nicole is very attentive and helpful in my search for a more local trainer. If I were not so far away I know she would be a perfect match for my pup and me!
