I was made to feel very uncomfortable. I brought 2 children under 10 in and they were very well behaved. The male owner sauntered up to us, eyeing the female child. He addressed the children and I instantly didn't feel right about his demeanor. I very politely took over the conversation with small talk, leaving it there as I attempted to move on with the kids. He asked the kids how they liked the items and they replied that things were "creepy." He asked them if they thought he "was creepy." There were many uncomfortable silences that could have been his cue to move on but he was locked in on the 9yo girl trying to avoid him.He then asked if they knew how to give five and waited until both children reluctantly responded to the command. I felt that he was assessing our boundaries as it was already awkward. He lingered watching us for about a minute before asking me with contempt if I was their grandmother. I am in my mid 20s and he made no attempt to correct himself. I believe it was his backlash for my boundaries as I tried to move the children away. You can assume that I misread this encounter but I will follow my gut and stay far away from this establishment.

Great quality items. I collect hour glasses and I was able to get a full hour timer. I am also interested in unique silver collectibles and found 3 pieces.

A bargain hunter's delight, I always manage to find a gem here every time we're in the area. Bonus - super friendly staff behind the counter, never any pressure or stink-eye :-)

Prices are a bit high, turn over is slow most of the year. Most of the clientele seems to be tourists.I’ve found a few treasures and it’s fun to look about. Decent sized facility right downtown.

One of my very favorite stops along my route to finding antiques. I love that this place has a flow, and you don't have to spend all day looking at things. I was able to find a bud vase here that my mother used to put flowers in when I was a kid. It was a magical day for me to find this item. I try to go once a month.

All you would hope to expect from an antique mall, great selection, items that span decades, great finds from advertising to furniture and everything in between. There were some average sales 15 - 30% off in some booths (of course, what I bought and wanted had no percentage off). The layout is nicely crowded, easy enough to move around, but you'll have to crouch down to see everything tucked in corners and under tables. There are also a fair amount of "protected items" you know the ones, they are smaller, a little pricier and usually include some pretty special things you don't see to often. They are the items they want to protect a little more. Furniture is good quality and not all of it needs complete overhauls. They do have some of the "fixer-up" pieces, but there are a good number of "ready for the home" pieces as well. They have a great annex with some unique finds and architectural treasures. It's definitely a place worth visiting often. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

So are the reviewers related to the owners? Someone posted 'if you're looking for something they've got it'?This place isn't near big enough to 'have' too much of anything.I just don't understand the comments on these places making it sound like it's worth going out of my way for.It wasn't.

Dedicated antiquers should pop-in for a good layout and neat wares. Highlights include delightful succulent arrangements in front and chuckle worthy garden ornaments. I deduct 1 star based solely on the packed in nature of the location and the feeling that I didn't quite have the fortitude to take it all in.

There is so much to look at here! My Mom, Grandmother, sister and myself spent a great deal of time here last month and we can't wait to go back. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Great prices and tons of inventory. Wide selection from vintage and true antiques. Jewelry, furniture, art, American and European pottery and porcelain, architectural, folk art at all prices. Items change all the time. Hallowell is great place to visit. Many restaurants with super food.

All kinds of finds in these two buildings offering a wide variety of antiques. A fine place to browse and spend time enjoying or purchasing little bits of the past. Staff are very accommodating and extremely pleasant making one feel WELCOME TO HALLOWELL !!!

I love an antique mall, this one is sad and lacking though. I've been in a few times over the course of a few years and have noticed that inventory doesn't change much. There are far better antique shops and this one is just not worth the time.
