The most spectacular beautiful views with a clean and lovely rooms - best of all the family that runs it are super sweet and helpful! We enjoy our trip here every year. It’s nice to be out of busy Bar Harbor, but close enough by to visit. honestly, they have the best view from the front porch of the INN !! We look forward to this trip every year with our girls!

What a cozy and quiet gem! We enjoyed our stay in the Evergreen room and all of the quaint nautical decor around the property. Everything was very clean and tidy. And, what an amazing view to enjoy while eating breakfast or watching sunset from the deck.Don and his son, Hunter, are so friendly and make you feel right at home. They are also very responsive to text messages with questions and helpful tips. We went into Bar Harbor and Acadia- a bit of a drive- but we would love to return to explore the Schoodic area by Bluff House as we hear the sights are a lot less touristy/crowded. Definitely check this place out!:)

I wish I could give this place 10 stars!!!! We just returned from our stay here this weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and the accommodations are INCREDIBLE!!!!! This is exactly where you want to go if you're looking to unplug and disconnect from the chaos and insanity of the outside world! There are no TVs in the rooms and cabins, but that's part of what makes this place so great! We stayed in the "Anchor Room," which is apparently their most requested room, and we could easily see why! The view from this room is AMAZING!!!! You have a direct view of the ocean and a beautiful deck to sit on while you enjoy your coffee and breakfast and take in the gorgeous view. The sunrises and sunsets here are probably the most stunning we've ever seen! We loved sitting by the fire pit on Sunday evening. Additionally, the breakfast at Bluff House is top-notch! EVERYTHING is made from scratch! We couldn't get enough of the homemade vanilla yogurt, farm fresh eggs, and pastries! They even make their own orange juice! Everything was fantastic!!!! This place really feels like home away from home! We loved being able to go downstairs to the main "lodge" to get snacks and juice whenever we wanted, even in the middle of the night! The staff was THE BEST and Don was only a text message away if we needed anything! He truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed! He even sent us a list of nearby restaurants/bars!Another positive point about Bluff House is that it is less than an hour drive from Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park, or you can catch the ferry, so everything is very easily accessible. Oh, and if you have pups, Bluff House is very dog friendly! We might be bringing our gaggle of Golden Retrievers next time!We both feel so relaxed and rejuvenated after our weekend at the Bluff House that we've already booked another stay for next weekend! This time, we will be staying in the "Spruce Cabin" and we can't wait!!! I cannot recommend Bluff House Inn & Cabins enough!!!! I think we are officially hooked on this place!Rooms: SO cozy and comfortable!!!!Food & drinks: The breakfast here is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything is made from scratch and is incredibly fresh!

The Bluff House Inn is a massive part of why I decided to return to coastal Maine two years in a row. I visited last year with my close friend. We drove from Washington DC all the way up to Acadia and spent our 3 nights in the area at the Bluff House. I fell in love with the Inn and the state and came back with my mom this summer. When I tell you the view from the balcony is one of the best we’ve seen in our time around Acadia!! It will take your breathe away!! Don and Hunter provided the best service, giving us local recommendations for the park, places to eat and more! The breakfast and coffee is perfect, especially while you watch the beautiful view. I can’t recommend this place enough! And I hope I’m able to return year after year!

If you are looking for a place that is close to Winter Harbor, Acadia National Park, and Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay. We rented the two bedroom cabin and it was the best decision we made. If you are not looking for such a large place to stay, you can rent a 1 bed cabin or stay in the Inn. Don was very informative in where to eat and was non-intrusive throughout our stay. We stayed this following weekend. The price was worth the stay, as many of the hotels with one room and two beds were more than the cabin and the view was to die for! 5 stars all around.

We only stayed for a night but enjoyed the place and views very much. The scenic views from the Inn are breathtaking! It is close to the Schoodic trails of Acadia National park. Breakfast is served and was great. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Very quiet and relaxing place. We checked out an hour late by mistake but Don accommodated us. Must visit location (views itself are worth every penny).

Me and my husband stayed two nights at the Inn and we really enjoyed it. The room we had was comfortable and cozy. The interior was lovely decorated and clean. The breakfast was very good we could find everything we needed to start our day. The view is amazing and deserves more than five stars! Everyone was very friendly, helpful… we even got lots of dinner recommendations. This place is dog friendly, which is absolutely amazing. We can fully recommend this lovely place!

What a pure gorgeous place! We stayed in one of the cabins and it was one of the cleanest places we’ve ever stayed. From the front porch you have a gorgeous view of the ocean. Owner went above and beyond and communicated with us daily on tips for the area, best places to go, Acadia treasures and more! We didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend! A+++Rooms: Beautiful cabin with everything you need!

New, nicely appointed cabins with queen bed, tiny table with coffee maker & two small wood stools. Nice bathroom with shower- small but not cramped. Good place for two people, no room for more. View looks to the west, should provide a good sunset, weather permitting. Service is limited to text messages unless you really need something from the main Lodge down the hill - it is out of sight of the cabins which are located on recently cleared ground

We feel very fortunate that we were able to book with Bluff House Inn for their Maple cabin for our honeymoon. These cabins and the lodges are adorable, comfortable, and simplistic to truly enjoy nature. We stopped in the main lodge once and loved seeing the inside. Our cabin was perfect for our honeymoon and busy days of hiking and exploring Acadia National Park. The smaller cabins have all you really need. The bed and sheets were insanely comfortable. The main window and the outdoor patio faced sunset so we enjoyed watching sunset each night and noticed several other cabins did too. There were 2 stools and a table with a coffee maker and mini fridge. The room came with a small space heater but it really did warm up the space if you’re prone to getting cold. The bathroom and towels were perfect! The owners are so sweet in communicating over email leading up to our stay with any questions, and their texts with recommendations on hikes, parking, exploring, and restaurants truly helped shape our day!We would love to come back someday!!!

We had rented three nights of two larger cabins… with a spectacular view, seeing the sun setting… the rooms were so peaceful and they were so extremely clean. There was not one thing that I could find wrong with it. They were perfect. I enjoyed pulling up next to the cabin and just walking a couple steps and getting in my room. I didn’t mind not having TV that didn’t bother me…. The beds were comfortable. The accommodations were just perfect for what we needed….Don was so nice offering suggestions … even on a rainy day he had advice for us without me even asking… a super host…. Communication wise you would text him and he will get back to you within minutes…. I love the smell of the cabin …. Smelled brand new … my husband and I walked down to the water. It was a nice walk and it was very peaceful. Just standing there watching the water come in…. We will definitely be back again….. everybody needs a little peace in their life… these cabins are the perfect place to get it… Thank you to Don and his family for being perfect hosts .

We stayed here last weekend and it was excellent! The location is amazing, sweeping ocean views, and a large deck that is perfect to sit outside and relax for hours (shout out to airline brewing as well, since the Bluff House had their local beer available on tap that you could sip on said deck). The rooms are cute classic Maine style, as well as a small apartment with a great view. They have log cabins available too, and although we didn’t stay in those I could tell the views would be great - I don’t think any part of the property could have a bad view! The stays at the inn itself include continental breakfast, which was a good spread. It’s conveniently located near Schoodic Point, which despite being a Maine native I had never visited, and is so gorgeous. Perfect spot for scenic hiking, and just enjoying the views.Lastly, and most importantly, the owners of this place are so great. Traveling with family can be a lot at times, and these guys really know how to create a relaxing atmosphere. The whole family was so friendly and helpful, we felt completely at home. Pet friendly was a huge plus. If you are looking for a place to stay in this area, definitely choose the Bluff House Inn!!

We stayed in Birch Cabin for a few nights and it was great! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay (bed, full bath, small fridge, coffee maker, AC, WIFI). The view's in the morning and evening were wonderful from our porch. Don was very accommodating and gave us lots of great information about the area! I would say the experience was very much like "glamping" as there is no TV's and the WIFI was a little spotty at times. Perfect if you want a semi- unplugged experience. I do wish the complimentary breakfast at the Inn was extended toward cabin guests without a fee, but is understandable. Would definitely stay here again!

We just got back from staying a week here- we had one of the cabins and we absolutely loved it. The cabins were spotless and comfortable, with A/C and mini-fridges. The Inn itself is beautiful- it's obvious the new owners have done a ton of work to the place. The deck is fantastic and the water view outside the inn and outside our cabin was incredible. The place is dog friendly and they mean it- we brought our mutt and he was in heaven and he was welcome everywhere in the inn. There were several other dogs there and a few couples with kids. Breakfast was basic but very good, and Don (the innkeeper) and his son took great care of us. Anything we needed was taken care of instantly. Don was also fantastic with suggestions for our daily excursions, along with great places to eat, etc.One nice touch- Don has a selection of craft brews in cans and on tap and it's on the honor system if he isn't around. Sitting on the deck, looking at the water, with an ice cold craft brew at the end of the day is EXACTLY what you're supposed to be doing in Maine! If you're looking to stay on the quiet side of Acadia National Park, this is the place to stay. We'll be back.

This place is amazing! If you are visiting Acadia, the Bluff House Inn is the best place to stay. Not in crowded Bar Harbor but still close enough to Acadia and closer to the hidden gems of Acadia. The owner is absolutely wonderful and told us about all of the secret breathtaking spots that no one really knows about, so we had gorgeous views all to ourselves. The cabin was clean, cute, and comfortable with beautiful views of the water, and the house has even better views to sit on the front porch and enjoy. I will never stay anywhere else when I go back to this area! Thank you so much Bluff House Inn, I will never forget how kind you were!

Excellent stay. This friendly family run inn boasts incomparable views of Downeast Maine all the way across Frenchman's bay to Mount Desert Island. Great service, attention to details, and a very welcoming environment. There are a variety of rooms and some very cute cabins. We opted for a cabin and found it quite cozy. Great base to explore the Schoodic peninsula and very convenient to Acadia national park and Winter Harbor. We'll be back!

We stayed in the Eagles Nest apartment and what a lovely view! The hosts sent recommendations for sights and local eateries upon our arrival which was very helpful. The beds were so comfy and we enjoyed hiking to the shoreline. I would highly recommend staying here while visiting the area.

We stayed 2 nights at the inn and it was delightful! We wished we could've stayed longer. Though the location is a little far from Acadia, this is a retreat from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. It was peaceful and quiet, the 40 minute drive was worthwhile. The views from the porch are breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious, the baked treats were amazing!! Thank you!

Our stay here was FANTASTIC! We stayed in a cabin and it was clean and comfortable. It had a mini fridge, a microwave and a coffee pot, no TV or WiFi (as advertised) and was perfect! The view from the porch was beautiful and serene and the star-gazing was unbelievable. Don was very responsive and accommodating our entire stay. We took advantage of the breakfast down at the inn on two mornings and it consisted of bread, homemade baked goods (holy moly they were SOOOOOO GOOD), boiled eggs, coffee, juice and cereal - more than we needed for the price. Plus we got to meet some of the other guests and everyone was so nice and relaxed and happy to be there. It was cold and rainy for 3 of the 4 days we were scheduled to spend in the Acadia area, so they put a little heater in the cabin for us and brought an extra quilt to make sure we were comfortable. He also offered ideas on place to explore/eat each day and we took advantage of his knowledge of the local sites. Yes, it is about 45 minutes to the "bigger side" of Acadia but the Schoodic Peninsula was only about 5-10 minutes away and was absolutely breathtaking. We went to the main park and to Bar Harbor without any issues from here to there - we actually looked forward at the end of each day to going back to the cabin and enjoying the quiet peacefulness. Highly recommend for those who need to disconnect and refresh.

Stayed in the Eagles Nest and the apartment was just perfect for a 4 night stay. Sunsets from the attached deck were marvelous, the staff was so friendly and accommodating, and where else can you get freshly baked muffins delivered to your door at 7:00 AM? Would not stay anywhere else and friends who have had Maine on their wish list for years will be going in two weeks and of course, staying right there in Eagles Nest after I described this little piece of heaven! I think they are more excited than we were lol

Awesome place to stay. We stayed in a cabin. Adorably decorated with a little porch overlooking the trees and water in the distance is perfect for watching the sunrise, sunset, or stargazing. Just far enough from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and close to Acadia. Lots of restaurants within a short drive. There is a path from the hotel that leads right to the water. Breakfast of homemade muffins and bread was yummy. Hunter was a so helpful, texting me tons of info about points of interest and dining recommendations. We are already planning our next visit and we haven't left yet!

The staff and views are great. The breakfast was a very nice spread and everyone was friendly. Super relaxing experience. It is very remote so there are not late evening bar or food options in the area. If you are looking for peace and quiet and don't need entertainment options dont hesitate to book here. The morning coffee on the deck, watching the water, was a beautiful experience

Stayed in one of the cabins. Loved it! Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable, tons of privacy and peace and quiet…and THAT VIEW! Super friendly staff, communication was great…they clearly take great pride in their hospitality. And I loved being on the Schoodic side of the bay. You’re facing west over there, so sunsets are INSANE from this property! It was an easy, gorgeous drive over to MDI each day, then back to Bluff House for sunsets each night. What a treat my stay was. Can’t wait to come back!

Don & Keara are excellent host and always go above and beyond. We look forward to our trip every year ! The views are Picturesque, the home made muffins made by Keara are delicious. We appreciate the location that is close enough to Bar Harbor but also far enough away for all the tourist. The bluff house has a nice hike to a little rocky beach that is quite, peaceful with breath taking views. There is enough to do locally. We have stayed in the cabins, the INN and the house and they all have a special charm with all wonderful views ! Thank you Bluff house for making another wonderful visit ! We look forward to next time !

The perfect spot to get some R & R and take in gorgeous scenery. Loved the view from the cabins, which were also amazingly clean and comfy. Also a great location to explore Acadia without having to be in crowded Bar Harbor, but close enough for access to everything we needed, including less touristy spots recommended by the Inn's owner (who was super friendly and helpful). Loved everything about this stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Bluff House Inn. The location is so beautiful - quintessential Maine - and watching the sun set over the water from the inn's terrace was magical. Don is so helpful and welcoming with tips and suggestions as to what to see both in Acadia and on the Schoodic peninsula and Keara provided us with delicious home-baked treats for breakfast every morning! We met Don's kids, his dad and their dogs and felt more like family friends than paying guests, it was very special. What really made the trip for us though was the fact that this was the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed. Our German shepherd definitely did not want to leave - and neither did we! Can't wait for our next visit.

We enjoyed 3 nights in one of the cabins at Bluff House Inn and it was a great place to stay. Near Winter Harbor and about an hour from Bar Harbor you have easy access to restaurants, shops, and Acadia National Park. The Inn itself seems nice as well and we enjoyed coffee and breakfast while taking in the views. At night you can see stars you didn't know existed! Overall very relaxing and away from the crowds and activity in Bar Harbor. The only things I can suggest that would upgrade the cabins is a coffee pot and curtains for the door. Definitely recommend this.

If it was possible to give more than 5 stars, we would! We were glad to arrive during day time hours, as the drive was hard to see the first time. It's a big lodge in the woods over looking the bay. Fantastically gorgeous views in every direction. The family that owns it is above and beyond helpful and friendly. We had a room in the main lodge which is where continental breakfast is served daily- free of charge. There are 7 rooms in the main lodge with each having a private bath. 2 floors- no elevator. Also available are several stand alone single cabins for rent.It was clean and decorated nicely. Board games, books, brochures, puzzles available for use in the common room. Big wrap around deck on both levels. Firepit on the grounds with seating. Hiking trail down to the ocean/bay.Highly recommend this for a quiet, peaceful, beautiful place to stay! It was around $175/night and completely worth that.
