We are normally state park campers, so we are used to secluded sites– individual sites hidden from neighboring sites by a good number of trees / brush. This campground is much more like an open hillside with some picnic tables and fire pits set out. It's so open that it's hard to even tell where your site ends and the next starts. In addition to being out in the open, there are also no clearly defined pathways so other campers were walking through our site all weekend. We're friendly people, but our dog can be reactive to other dogs so we were pretty stressed all weekend about the dogs walking through our site. Water on site was nice, but I would give that up in a heartbeat for some privacy. I would also say that camper etiquette was missing– lots of yelling way past sundown and before 7 am.The bathrooms were okay. Again, not nearly as clean as a state park, but the free (as opposed to coin operated) shower was a great touch.I'm still giving it a 4 star review because you simply cannot beat the water! The tide was beautiful and created a huge walking beach at low-tide that we were able to let our dog run around on. If you have them, bring your own kayak/canoe (rentals were crazy expensive). Also stop for campfire wood on the road in– they price gouge at the campground store.Rooms: Campsites were very exposed - don't expect any privacy from neighbors. Fire pit was also very full of wet coals which effectively made the fire ring 3" tall instead of 12".Nearby activities: Plan to spend your time at the water. We were hoping to find a local seafood place one night when it rained, but everything was about 45 minutes away- plan accordingly!!Safety: I felt a little weirded out by how many other campers just walked through our site. It made me a little uneasy to have all our camping gear out, but overall I felt safe.Food & drinks: There are none to be had! Even ice cream is about a half an hour drive. Unless you want to spend your vacation driving, bring what you want with you!Noteworthy details: They will sell you a clamming license in the office and rent the tool for it! We didn't have time, but next time we certainly will give it a try!

This was our third trip to this campground and we have enjoyed each and every trip. The staff is friendly, the views are wonderful, and the sites are well kept. We go to Maine several times every year to go camping (tent) and this is by far our favorite place to go. It is so peaceful and quiet. It's just what the mind, body, and soul need for a recharge. I can't say enough wonderful things about this campground. You have to experience it to believe it.

This was our first visit to this place, and we absolutely adored the view and the warm hospitality of our neighbors. We cherished the moments when we ventured out during low-tide, walking as far as we could. It was a truly special experience that our family will hold dear. The location is fantastic, with convenient access to wonderful places like Reid beach, Five Island Lobster Co and Georgetown Pottery. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Pat and Eric for generously sharing their stunning property for our camping adventure and creating lasting family memories. We can't wait to come back as soon as possible.

We stayed on a campsite, not in a cottage. Our site had such an amazing view of the bay. This is such a quiet, secluded piece of paradise that we enjoyed for 5 nights. We loved walking out in the low tides and we kayaked with our dogs twice. This place is very dog friendly. We had an issue leaving the campground and did some damage to our motorhome. The owner, along with another man, helped my husband for nearly three hours get us back on the road. We are extremely grateful for the help they gave us. I’m sure we will be back again someday.

I truly dislike posting a negative review but in this case I feel I must provide at least some guidance to those considering this camp ground. We have a camper trailer and travel with some comfort but are reliant on some locations for washrooms and showers. We picked this location as we were desperate for a trailer site prior to the Labour Day long weekend and we were looking for a location to burn a couple of days before our reservations in Acadia National Park. The positives: enjoyed the location and proximity to Portland and Freeport; enjoyed the walk out on the tidal flats and watched others dig for clams - very cool! The negatives: the park is poorly run and maintained; washrooms were filthy and refused to use the showers they were so dirty. There is no excuse for for anyone who wants to provide this service to the public. Go if you must, but be aware.

DON’T.You cannot choose your campsite. We were given a dumpy, tiny site in a dreary, broken down forest with fallen trees, stumps, dead ferns and no sunlight, away from everything. There was no fire pit and the road was barely driveable. There was no one else in sight and the bay was on the other side of a ridge. No easy access.Junk was piled at various points in the campground. We cannot speak to the bathhouse as we never bothered to look. They made a point of selling bug repellent so I guess the mosquitoes are there. Some folks love this place. I couldn’t see it.

Sagadahoc Bay Campground is in a remote location on Georgetown Island that provides an incredible ocean camping experience. The campground is run by a small family going back several generations who are hard working and friendly to all who arrive. There is a lot to love about this place and our three night stay was a really enjoyable one. Walking almost two miles into the Atlantic during low tide is something to experience. Getting lobsters and steamers cooked and delivered to our site was a great perk to camping here.If you're bringing a camper, RV or anything longer than 23', book the ocean view side. The forest side of Sagadahoc isn't made for anything larger than a tent, pop-up camper or superlite like ours. The roads are narrow, the campsites are small if you're not too careful, you'll do some damage, like ripping out your rear stabilizer jack turning onto the main road...That being said, the forest side is quiet and just as beautiful. The cliff side is picture worthy and the sites are spaced apart nicely. Keep in mind, you're on an island and cell phone reception just doesn't exist (to be honest, we liked it that way). The reason I'm giving this one a 4/5 is due to the bathhouse. I know they try to clean them as much as they can, but I think they're due for a refresh. Like, burn them down and start over, refresh.

Mosquitoes, no shortage of mosquitoes. Bring plenty of repellent, and don't miss any spots. Very limited cell service, we have Verizon. No local TV reception. Owner mowed the sites next to our site, didn't bother to aim the discharge shute away from our site. Kicked a rock up and it hit the screened tent that we had to purchase at WM for the rest of our stay so we could sit outside. If it wasn't for the screen tent, the rock might have hit me, it headed in my direction. Grass clippings all over in our trailer now. They have wifi, with limitations when you login to it.They list bathrooms, not near trailer sites. Plan on using your own toilet and shower. They do supply dog doo bags, the containers needed to be emptied. It was a nice view.We won't be staying there again. There's nothing local, road trip for just about anything.

Loved our trip! We spent a week, with our dog, at this beautiful and rustic campground. Our water front tent site was plenty large, the views were spectacular, and Pat and Stacey in the office were welcoming and treated us like family. Clean bathrooms, a tidal bay to play in, fresh salty air, and respectful campers. What more could you ask for? We can't wait to go back for another week next summer.

I had a wonderful time camping here. All of the tent sites (and I looked at quite a few after most people left on Sunday) were beautiful, each with their own perks. I felt that the owners conscientiously planned the sites; they're close but provide great views and some privacy. And then the bay. What can I say? It was so calming. I could watch the tides roll in and out all day, every day and be perfectly happy. Short (~25 mins) driving distance to breweries and restaurants. There's a store much closer, but don't expect to find a whole lot there. Found a couple trails nearby as well. Campground staff was down-to-earth and authentic. I had no problems at all and very glad that I chose this campground!

Had an absolutely wonderful time at Sagadahoc Bay campground with my wife and our dog. We stayed in RV site so we never saw what the bathhouses looked like. The campground itself was very clean, the scenery around the campground is also lovely. the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful, wonderfully accommodating to our last minute reservation request. The campground is very dog friendly which was great, and I'd say our favorite part was getting a permit and borrowing the equipment to go clamming. We dont even eat clams, but when in Maine, do as the Mainers do! we were surprised that we actually enjoyed them drenched in garlic butter of course. Super fun and unique experience. Cant wait to stay with these folks again next year!

I first stumbled across this place about 15 years ago, and I’ve been trying to find them for years. This trip was my first back, this time with three kids and a dog in tow. This campground is everything I want—quiet without pools and playgrounds and parties. The bay is spectacular; walking the flats essentially alone with peace and baby lobsters and crabs and adventure. The kids (6-10) loved it as well. The tent site was super comfortable for tent camping and with a beautiful view. The bathhouse was close enough. Perfection!

Loved every minute of our stay over the 4th. We were able to take the paddle board out when the tide came in. When the tide was out we were able to walk the flats. The owners hosted an amazing fireworks display for the fourth and extremely friendly. When we checked In they gave us a # to call and we could get cooked lobsters delivered right to our site. This was a huge bonus.Camp ground was very dog friendly. At one point all the dogs were out on the flats playing ball together. We used Bath House 1 - very clean every time we used it.We have already secured our site for next year and can't wait!

Has a great little beach. Tidal basin and view was amazing and for a fee you could dig for clams. The tent sites on the cliff were nice and had a great view of the bay and able to watch the tides come in and go out. I only gave this campground 3 stars because of the campsite we were on was infested with mosquitos and not very clean.. one of rest rooms and showers needed a total revamping. The second bath house was a distance away from the initial campground. You had to drive to it and had no place to park.

We visited Sagadahoc Bay Campground at the end of July for a week. This dog friendly campground has waterfront sites, water view sites, and some super cool sites near rock walls. Watching the tide come in and out of the bay from our site was beautiful and relaxing. The bathroom and shower were clean, and not far from our site. Our tent site was plenty large, and had water at the site. The grounds were well kept, and the hosts were friendly, helpful, and just plain wonderful. We're already planning a trip for next year! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

The view of the campsite was amazing! The campsites are close to one another, was not impressed on the cleanliness of the bathroom/showers… not worth the price!!Ps: if you still do book this place; bring water shoes for the shower🤢

From the moment we arrived in Georgetown we were delighted by the area! Our first contact with the campground was an angel named Stacey! Not only did she upgrade us, she took the the time in her busy day to map out all the local gems for us to visit. The campground was clean, quiet, and friendly, with magic all around. The wonders of nature carved into its footsteps soothed our souls. Absolutely all you could ask for! Already booked next year!

Our camping experience over the years there is always amazing! The cabins are clean, and comfortable, same with the ocean view tent sites! Is close to popham state park, Reid state Park, restaurants and many places to explore! We love walk all the way to the ocean when the tide is low, clam digging, nature exploring! Pat and her family are amazing!😍

Best campground in the whole world. Me and my two friends went here a few months ago but totally forgot to write the review. We had reservations at hermit island campground but they were rude to us about not being 21 so we left. My friend was crying and we were far from home and didn’t know what to do. We called Sagadahoc and Stacy picked up the phone and helped us so much, she’s an Angel. She helped us pitch our tent and the pricing was great. We had the most wonderful vacation thanks to Stacy and her mom. We will come here every summer now! It is so beautiful there and the family who owns it deserves the world!

It's close to the Bath, Brunswick area so it's not too far up in Maine; handy location only 25 minutes away from Bath for groceries, hardware store, restaurants, etc. It has a beautiful ocean front and woodsy location. The people in the office and out around the campground were very nice and helpful. However the cell service is non-existent and WiFi is terrible. The bathhouse near our site was abysmal. The roads around the campground are exceedingly rough. The mosquitoes and biting green heads are prolific. We've stayed at many campgrounds around Maine and NH and enjoyed them. Unfortunately this isn't a place we'll return to. I don't know if there's anything they can do about the bugs (they should give every site reservation a can of bug spray and a citronella candle,) but I imagine they could grade the roads, and I know they could build better bath houses with nice dish washing stations, and then actually keep them clean.

My boyfriend, dog and I stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it! We had a site on the cliff side loop, and it was so spacious and secluded but still only a 2 minute walk to the bathroom, 5 minute walk from the main office. The main office is right in front of a little sandy beach area that has a few benches to see the amazing views. The owner greeted us and gave us a map of the area with suggestions of things to do. The campground was so green and beautiful, and so cool that it’s right on the bay! A great experience overall, and a huge plus because it’s super dog friendly! We will definitely be returning :)

We stayed at Sagadahoc Bay campground for the first time. We used it as our base to revisit the neighboring areas forty two years later. I was stationed at the now executive airport when it was Naval Air Station Brunswick. Brought back fond memories. The owner(s) were very friendly and most accommodating. Met campers who were yearly customers (some over twenty years) expressing their love for the campground. The property has been in their family name since the early seventeen hundreds. The campground was established only twenty five years ago. We are definitely hooked in coming back again!

We got lucky enough to find a heated cabin a couple nights over Labor Day weekend at this amazing spot. I was wanted to take my littles camping near the ocean but the weather was too chilly. This cabin and campground was perfect for our little family! Everyone was so friendly and our cabin was super warm and cozy with a view of the ocean and just a quick little walk down to a small sandy beach area. When the tide was down, we were able to explore the bay at low tide and found shells and critters. Our cabin was the most adorable one room arrangement with a little loft that worked as a play area for the kids. At first, I was disappointed as it seemed our cabin was located on the road and near the office but it turned out to not be so busy that cars were a problem and the kids really enjoyed being able to see the dogs and walkers and the owners of the campground working nearby. There was another small cabin that was more remote but we enjoyed our closeness to the activity and friendly people after all. We had a fire at night and there wasn't any traffic really. We walked down to the water in the evening to look at the moon and all the friendly campers said their hellos! It was wonderful. We had delicious cooked lobster delivered to our door and spent an entire day playing at Reid State Park which was amazing and so close by. I really liked that this campground was a little rustic and the owners were kind and hard working people. We will most definitely return to this piece of heaven!

We got lucky in finding a cancelation here for July 4th and I must say, we’ve already booked for next year! The owners were incredibly accommodating and the campground was gorgeous. Watching the tide go out and come in while listening to the waves from your campsite and just unwinding was incredibly relaxing. The staff is attentive and work to make sure everyone can enjoy themselves and the natural beauty of the area and the other campers were great to hang out with. Looking forward to coming back for many years!

This is a gem, Stacy and Pat in the office were helpful and fun for us first time RV campers! The ocean view sites were peaceful and the view was spectacular. If you want a busy spot with pools and playgrounds and loud fireworks don’t go here. If you want peace, amazing views , ocean tides and a nice quiet relaxing visit, this is the place for you! Simple and serene, we enjoyed it immensely !!!
