Nice park. There’s one area towards the left of the main parking lot which is mostly granite and rocky structures. The area on the right contains a normal beach and sand area. There is also a small freshwater pond.Restrooms: There is one restroom outhouse.Dog-friendliness: Great for dogsPicnic area: Numerous picnic areas are scattered throughout.

I would give Reid State Park 5 stars easily if it wasn't for pesky biting flies (more than one type). The park is beautiful with more than 1.5 miles of beach and back side lagoons. Weather dependent waves are a plus. The sand is mostly clean. State of Maine needs to do something about those flies though.Restrooms: Restrooms are pretty clean located at each end of one mile beach.Picnic area: There are a decent amount of picnic tables.

Wonderful beach park with plenty of space to walk around on trail and sand. The summertime is insane though with the traffic of tourists. We live about 20 miles from here and even with arriving as soon as they open there’s a bit of a crowd. Don’t bother trying to get in past noon, or be prepared to wait in a LONG line of cars. It’s a lot better in the fall and winter in terms of traffic. Still beautiful no matter the season.

I was told to check this place out while on Vacation in Maine. I’m so happy that I took the time to explore this beautiful spot. The view is fabulous, it’s such a beautiful place to spend the day. They have picnic tables in different secluded spots. The bathrooms were clean with showers outside to rinse off before getting in the car. They had another area for kids to play in the water. I’ll be heading back in August and I can’t wait. 👍🏽🥂

Went Sunday and wasn't too crowded. Families spread out well on the beach. Lifeguards very pleasant and very active on duty which was nice to witness. Very clean beach as well as restroom area. Beautiful views..nice walking along the mile beach and some waves were perfect for surf and play. Such a great place to relax.

Had a wonderful afternoon here with our 11 and 6 year Olds. We flew a kite, walked the beautiful beach, enjoyed climbing the rocks and took gorgeous shots of the marsh. We've been coming here for many years and I never tire of the park. Easy parking.

This is a primier state park combining woodland trails, sand beach, and desolate rocky coast. Parking is limited, as at all state parks but the walk in is worth it. Grest views are punctuated with plenty of picnic tables, benches, and cookout grills. There are outhouses near the entrance and much of the park is wheelchair/handicap accessible. Rocky areas will challenge even most agile visitors and are managed with wheelchair friendly scenic overlooks. Kids will love the many tide pools. Everyone loves the beach. If you only visit one park this year. Reid would be a great choice. EDIT 5/14/22: park is open in off-season mode but parking lots fill fast. Rest rooms near beach are closed though potties are available at far side of parking lot with long lines outside. Water remains dangerously cold and swimming not suggested (fresh water ice out was less than a month ago ). NO LIFE GUARDS ON DUTY. That said we had a great day here today and look forward to official start of summer park season after Memorial Day with return of full services. Kudos to hard working park staff for keeping this great beach open and safe during the off season so use locals can beat the record setting heat this weekend!

Reid State Park is a beautiful coastline experience! The park has many amenities to include changing rooms, bathrooms, showers, picnic tables, grills, sand beach, a salt water pond beach(very nice for the little ones) and also some spectacular views. The park made for a very nice day and would like to visit again!

The most beautiful state park we've ever seen. ...breathtaking beauty. Many mosquitos chased and phlebotomized us relentlessly on the non-sandy beach side of the park while my husband wore DEET and I wore a cedar oil based repellant - freshly applied. This made us understand Georgetown's online reputation for a troublesome mosquito population.

This park is gorgeous. I couldn't tell from my research online, or pictures gathered from the internet (I know, they never do justice), but this place is beautiful. It's not the most grandiose, dramatic landscape, but the variety and Maine-ness of the land and see are striking. Not only is one of Maine's few sand beaches perfect here, rugged rock-strewn coastline hugs the eastern shore. Flies can get aggressive, as there is ample salt, fresh, standing, and brackish water; so bring spray. If you have the chance to visit this beautiful part of Maine, go. I will revisit the rest of my days.

Today's trip was quick because we have evening plans, otherwise we would have stayed to watch the sun go down. I really enjoyed this beach because of the waves and the fact that they have a nice changing and toilet facility. It's pretty reasonable to get in, and was very clean. I would definitely come back and recommend. The surf is probably too rough for small kids or disabled people.

April 23, 2021 - All your senses awaken at Reid State Park, regardless when you visit this ocean gem! “Thanks” to the Reid family for their generous donation of land to Maine in 1946! Driving through Georgetown, take a right onto Seguinland Rd. ( big USA flag painted on a rock) then another mile to the park entrance. Some say Popham Beach ( sand) is better, but you can’t beat the iconic Maine coastal scenes at Reid! There’s two big parking areas, to the left at Griffin’s Head ( rock formations & trees) behind the bath house, and to the right at Todd’s Point about 2/3 mile to another bath house . In all the years my family visited Reid Park not once was it closed in summer for over-crowding like Popham Beach Park. What a surprise to visit Reid Park in April, on a gorgeous spring day. No waiting on parking. Fantastic smells of ocean, seaweed, salt air! Watching white and grey seagulls swooping down into frothy blue waves at the rocky inlet. Sounds of the ocean’s rolling waves lapping sand, wishing you had a bedroom window cracked to play those sounds as you fall asleep. No fly swatter needed for those pesky green headed horse flies in April ( but be prepared in the summer)!Features at Reid State Park*Fee required*Two large parking areas*Restrooms available at both*Picnic tables, and a few grilles available*Life guard on duty at kid swimming area*Snack bars at times open ??? (Past)*Loads of rocks to explore*Inlet & Bridge to explore*Loads of drift wood to explore*Long beach to stroll & build sand castles*Bring fly swatter in summer (horseflies)*Ski Trail is a 2 mile loop*Little River Trail is 1 mile, at Todd’s PointNotes of Significance1946 - Investment mogul Walter Reid gifted hundreds of acres for a park1949 - Maine opened Reid State ParkFrom Reid Park, one can see . . .A. Seguin Lighthouse to the southeastB. Hendricks Head Lighthouse to the NWC. Old Coast Guard station on Damariscove Island to the northMooring B & B ( before park entrance) was the original home of Walter Reid.Suggestion:1. New Trail head sign plexiglass is “fogged over” difficult to read, at Todd’s Point?2. Parks should be free to those who can’t afford to pay fees . . . Great little park with an amazing sand beach. Nice change facility. Rocky beach portion is very beautiful with an amazing vista across bay to the north. Wetlands are nice but the mosquitoes can be oppressive there or at top of beach next to wetlands.

What a wonderful beach!!! Even on a cloudy day with a high about 68 degrees, it was gorgeous to walk around. Get a yearly state park membership as this is a park you could easily revisit more than once.

We had a blast all day long. Bobbing in the waves with the kids on boogie boards, swimming across the lagoon with it's can water, then eating a picnic lunch back on the main beach, watching seagulls, was di much fun. Then we all ( ages 8 to 63) hiked over the rocky outcrops to the other side of the park where water runs from the lagoon under the bridge. We hunted for little hermit crabs in the water, then swam to a sand bar. The water was cold, but that's what you get in Maine. If you don't like the water, the scenery is worth the trip! After all that we rinsed off the salt and sand at the changing facilities, which are always well kept, spacious and clean.I've been coming here with my family since I can remember, and I'm the 63 year old. The young adults and grandkids love it, too.

We happened upon Reid State Park as we had some extra time until Five Island Lobster Co opened... And I'm so glad we did. A beautiful sand beach... Climb up and have a beautiful view of the beach and islands. Highly recommend. It was the highlight of my day that day.

Nice stretch of sandy beach watching the waves crashing. At this time of year not many people and super relaxing. Little trails winding around the rocks allowing you to pop out at different places for different views. BBQ pits and places to sit all along those trails.

A great place to visit to enjoy the beach and a great hike thru the woods. Can be crowded during peak summer, but can be visited year-round.
