So, I got double charged for an item (I only bought 3). I pointed it out to the cashier and he told me I'd have to go the service desk to get a refund. I looked over at the service desk and there were 15 people waiting to resolve problems or buy lottery tickets. I said "are you serious?" Yup, was the reply. Walked out with my 12 dollar small package of cheese. I'll cross the river to IGA from now on.

Dealt with pharmacy staff and all of them I have had nothing but good to say about all of them. I have a lot of medication needs and insurance hurdles that require not only a lot of time and energy from me but also the pharmacy staff especially and they always bend over backwards with a smile to help me. Kudos and much appreciated thanks to all of the staff at Gardiner Hannaford Pharmacy!

Great place for some good deals on groceries. Make sure to go early in the morning so that the produce will be fresh. Also, sometimes the meat deals are a little over priced.

Recently it seems like every time I buy some sort of produce there's something wrong with it whether it's mold or just bad quality. I bought jalapeño poppers this morning 9/5/23 and brought them to work for lunch, my coworker saw them and said thought someone left them in the fridge too long becaise there was a large amount of mold on them. I used to work for this store and Rob Meader used to hound us bakery associates about the bread being out of date and would CONSTANTLY check if we got all the out of dates off the shelf that morning. I NEVER saw him do it in produce. Hannaford claims to have fresh products and quality products but this tells me otherwise.

The meat and produce sections were on point. They offer beer, wine and spirits. No tobacco products. Well stocked. Hadn't been for years as I moved away. Better than I remember it being. Adequate parking and a knowledgeable staff. Helped me pick a quick camp meal for cheap. They could have upsold me to a higher grade of meat, but chose to get me the best value for my money. When in town camping, this is my new preference for groceries.

For the most part the store was stocked and clean but if you go to the mens room the room smells of urine and there is black mold on the ceiling tiles. Being a grocery store you would think the store would be inspected by managers especially if there is mold growing on ceiling tiles. The bathrooms are right by the meat department and where they process raw food.

Clean, well stocked, friendly staff. I don’t know if it was this store, it was in Lewiston I believe. But I was shopping for a lady that was injured in a car wreck, and we had her give us a grocery list to help out ya know. Well we are from the south, so was in a hurry and had no idea where to find things in the store. So I asked a young man in the deli department to help me, and he did without hesitation 💯 with two small children and being out of my element that meant so much. Thank you young man. Gave him a small tip for his kindness wish I would have had more to give him because his kindness was priceless. Stay safe in them cars out there young man. And thank you again for helping a mother out

This place is disgusting! My son has gotten parasitic worms the doctor says its from contaminated food and we only eat and shop here sense moving here in February I’d like to believe it’s food from the deli area that’s contaminated but as far as I’m concerned its all contaminated I just know the food that we eat comes from a that store and the parasites have shown up for the second time now don’t shop here

My review is not based off one experience but several. This store is an embarrassment to the Hannaford name. Staff is either nowhere to be found or is unhelpful and uncaring. Lines are always outrageously long and employees are often standing around chatting with eachother instead of helping customers.I would rather go to IGA and pay alot more for my groceries then to deal with Gardiner Hannaford. If you want to go to a Hannafords, go to Augusta.

I just had to write a review for my experience today during my weekly shopping trip. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and have been craving coffee ice cream. There were two young men stocking the freezers while I was searching for the coffee flavor, and upon noticing I couldn't seem to find any, one of the men went out of his way to dismantle the pallet he was unloading and get me a gallon of it on the very bottom. I just wanted to say thank you, you made my day! The staff at our little Hannaford is always so friendly and helpful, you all do a fantastic job.

i saw one of the workers use the restroom without washing her hands after & maybe it was the person before her but it definitely didn’t smell like she went number 1 either… i think her name was wendy. really gross. sanitation is a must, like cmon you’re touching people’s groceries.

This is the most awesome supermarket the people are incredible you need something they'll walk you up and down those aisles till you find it. Their produce is top rate no wimpy broccoli here. Everything is crisp and fresh .their meat department is extensive. whatever you want this store has it. Check it out they have stores everywhere all over . these people really care about groceries about keeping produce immaculate fresh with a huge variety. But most of all they care about their customers and will go to Great Lengths to meet their needs.

Nice place but always has a funky nasty seafood smell and like a BO smell. Part of it could be the people going in the store but the nasty seafood smell is all over the store. Nothing like smelling yucky smelling old left out shrimp and dead smelly fish when you're in there to buy bread and milk!!!🤢🤮Update: Still stinks!

All I have to say is Hannaford and there higher ups are listening. There also Reading the reviews.Other than the hiring process.This store is clean employees are friendly and go out of way to help you. In the store and out. AS A KETO person let me tell you how happy I am that Hannaford now has more Keto Stuff. A bigger variety of things like Lily's chocolate birch benders pancake walful mix. Peanut butters more organic fruits veggies and dairy products.Any day I don't have to go to Walmart or wholefoods to get my keto stuff is a good Day. I also use thrive market. Thank you for reading and improve the store and having a better diversity of food for all diets.So other than Your hiring process which needs major improvements and the fact you guys should be equal to or less than your competition price match wise which ya ll can work on. Well done keep it up

I am only rating this way because it has been specifically one month and 3 weeks that I haven't been able to purchase my favorite outshine popsicles from here (the Hannaford closest to my house.) At one point they had seemed to have stocked two extra rows, I'm assuming due to demand, but now I haven't seen a box in forever. Did you guys stop ordering them?! It's highly dissapointing when we have had the weather we have had.

This store is unique to the North East region and chances are that outside this region, no one has ever heard of it. Produce had lots of organic choices and a variety of meats and gourmet cheeses. They sell liquor inside the store which is a first time for me. Deli looked clean and well staffed. Wines could use a more variety. Would love to see more of local produce and Maine lobsters.

This store has been newly renovated and is well lit and clean. They have a good selection. However, the aisles are narrow and have displays along the edges so it is difficult to get through. Every conceivable open spot has a display in it.The staff is friendly and competent.

I went in one night wanting to buy two items l. I grabbed them really fast and then had to wait twenty minutes to check out. They had two self check outs and one with a person. All three had some sort of a technical issue. I asked after my purchase if they ever planned to open more registers or self check out, and she said no. If you have been to this place you know what im saying. Lines back to the dairy isle with snot nose punks always trying to cut the line and hannaford just watches.

Fresh ripe produce; excellent meat cuts; a clean, inviting and kid friendly shopping experience. The check out clerks are typically pleasant and floor associates are helpful. Availability of common store brand center store products has been an issue over the past few months and maneuvering through the store at high traffic times around mid isle displays is a challenge. Otherwise a 👍 shopping experience.

Fantastic experience. One of our last visits we were met in an aisle by an associate named.Joyce. it was the place.where you could by special homemade noodles & she was just so helpful we couldn't believe it. We just couldn't believe how much time she took trying to make sure we got what we wanted or needed. Next time I go in I want to make a point of letting management know how we felt. Just didn't have time that day. Good job Joyce.

Great selection, friendly staff. Produce is always good quality. The only place to stock fresh cat fish. Local seafood, meat, and local products at great prices. If you ever get bad stuff they refund double and give yiu product. Cant ask for a better store. Also love the To Go. Saves time and always get great stuff.

The shelves don't seem as full as before the pandemic, prices are definitely up, and some items aren't available. I completed my shopping at WalMart, which surprisingly had more produce this time.

The deli is very helpful will slice deli meats just the way I want it. I love it when roast beef is on sale especially when it is rare!! The store all over is neat and clean and there is always someone there that you can ask a question of and get an actual answer!
