We brought our black and white healthy Tuxedo cat to Harvest Hill Shelter in Fryeburg today. His name is Jasper. We were impressed with this lovely animal shelter. We hope a caring person will adopt Jasper. He has lots of affection to give his new owners.

Harvest Hills is the best animal shelter. The staff is so compassionate and kind. They do such a wonderful job with care of the animals at the shelter. My dog, Sophie came from there was she was just 8 weeks old and now she is almost 13 years old. She is my best friend. I am so grateful for everything they do to help all of the homeless animals.

Went to find one cat , came home with two!!!They were condo mates and staff felt they would be better if not separated.Both have been with us now for 4 years+. Great cats. Settled in well. And yes, they do enjoy each other's company 😺😺 They've been great company for me as well.

This is the best animal shelter in the area as far as I'm concerned! The staff are always warm and welcoming. They are great at helping you find a pet to bring home to it's "fur"ever home.

Posting this on behalf of my father who is retired, we got approved and were told we were going to meet and take home the dog only to discover as were driving to meet that they had already adopted it to someone else. This is the scummest most disgusting place, do NOT recommend anyone get a pet from here. These people are so of the most awful people I've had to deal with. I seriously hope they get shut down.

We just brought our 8 year old handsome Tuxedo cat to Harvest Hill Animal Shelter. We won't be able to take him to Florida this year. We hope someone will be willing to adopt Jasper. He is a very affectionate cat and enjoys sitting on our laps. We will miss him, but hope he finds new parents to love.

The 9- Lives thrift store is amazing ! Good prices and always friendly staff. Ya never know what you'll find. It's a large store, plan on staying for a little while !!!! Lots of room's filled with all kinds of good deals.

Watch out, the hours posted are old. Now closed Sun and Mon. Hate checking online to make sure they're open, driving all the way over there after promising to buy family breakfast to make it a worthwhile trip, then get there and the shop is closed. Manager, you need to take care of this. Posting hours is important and should not be neglected. As for the thrift store, it's great. Just wsh they are open Sundays and animals could be visited.

The staff here is amazing. They know their animals so well. They were able to recommend the right dog to fit in with our family and existing dog. They worked with me over two visits to get my dog comfortable with the new dog and gave wonderful suggestions and support for getting them settled. This is the second dog I have adopted from them and would recommend them to anyone.

Wonderful people that truly care about animals. The facility is very clean and the animals are well cared for. The only thing missing is YOU...get your next fur baby from a shelter and let them show you how much love they have to give. I also recommend you stopping in to meet the lady that makes it all possible...Joan. Such a caring woman that can help you find the right fur baby for your home. The rest of the staff is also incredible, friendly and knowledgeable.

Went there to start volunteering. Meredith was so nice and informative while showing me around and having me help her clean. I think the animals there are lucky to have staff like this and I can't wait to keep working with them.

Over many years I have adopted two wonderful cats from this shelter and am about to get a third. Clean shelter, frank, honest knowledgeable staff. I have looked at pets at other shelters and always end up at Harvest Hills.

Beautiful facilities with incredible staff- it is clear that the animals are loved at this shelter. I wish that more animal shelters were run like this one. Animals do have feelings, and Harvest Hill is acutely aware of that. Keep up the great work!

From out of town and stopped in today to visit the animal shelter and say hi to the kitties. The kitties are so close to the dogs barking in cages it must be horrific for them. The short dark hair staff member was incredibly disrespectful and had the most repulsive customer service skill ive ever witnessed in my entire life. People working with animals should be friendly. You should adopt the cats from here so they dont have to be surrounded by her terrible energy or barking dogs, 5 ft from them. This place was literally so sad. Save the animals from miserable staff.

Got the best doggies here. In total we have gotten 4 dogs over our 20 years here. Currently have 3 in our household.This shelter takes good care of the animals. They have outdoor kennels, people can volenteer, they sell leashes, collars, etc. Great place to adopt, they spay all dogs before adoption and take care of other medical issues.Love the dogs, staff, volenteers, and cats. Great place, great dogs, great cats, great staff. :)

The staff is wonderful, all the animals are well talen care of. I have been to other animal shelters and they havent been as nice or clean. At harvest hills I know that I dont have to wonder about the story behind each animal because the staff will tell you about each individual cat and/or dog

I love the Nine Lives Thrift Shop...it's almost a guarantee of you're looking for something you'll find it here...and if you don't you can put your name and what you're looking for and they will contact you when it comes in....the Staff are nothing but amazing,friendly and helpful people. All proceeds go to take care of the pets next door..(many would love a forever home) take a peek..you may find a special treasure there...

I've always had a good experience with Harvest Hills. I've rescued quite a number of cats from there. They were always healthy and well cared for. I've gotten 2 from there that needed a lot if patience and undetstanding. This was not the fault of the shelter, just the situation the cats were taken from. The 1st turned out to be one of the best at I ever had, and that was Mitzi, better known as Mitty Kitty. I had her for 19 years. The 2nd one is still a work in progress. She's gaining quickly though. She's decided she loves being petted. She was known to the staff as Rowena, but I've called her Sweetie so much, I think I'll let her choose her own name. I hope I have her as long, or longer then Mitty. Thanks Harvest Hills.

I was very disappointed how we were treated here. Went in on a sunday spent over an hr with pup and was told we need proof of our dog vaccination before we could adopt. Ask we could put this pup on hold and was told no. They cut or time short and adopted this pup to another women. So disappointing they would treat people like this especially a child who had just lost his best friend in may.

Harvest Hills animal shelter is one of the nicest shelters. All of the animals cages are clean and they have outside access. It's not overcrowded and everyone there is helpful and accessible. They also really take care to get references and know that they are adopting to individuals and families that will provide their animals with their forever homes. All animals have vaccinations and medical checks.
